Thanks for the pics Crue.
Card 20: Pittsburgh, PA – Civic Arena
Match 1: Killer Bees v. Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette The Bees are out to a solid ovation but struggle to get anything going. Both teams are able to make defensive tags to keep things going back and forth. The Express hits a Double Goozle which sets up a VEG-O-MATIC on B. Brian Blair for the win. (Brunzell 3; Blair 8; Eaton 3; Lane 3) ** ½
Match 2: Red Bastien & Frank Gotch v. Foreign Legion w/Nikita Breznikov Foreign Legion draws great heat prior to the mat with their mic work. Frank Gotch takes Iron Sheik to the mat and goes for the win for a GOTCH TOEHOLD but Sheik gets free. The match goes to the floor and Sheik runs Gotch to the rails and is disqualified. It is bedlam after the bell with everyone brawling. Breznikov gets involved but Bastien uses a flurry of dropkicks to send all three foes to the mat. (Gotch 1; Bastien 2; Sheik 4; Volkoff 4) *
Match 3: Harley Race v. Giant Baba Baba is still on his quest for revenge after being carried out on a stretcher last season at the hands of Harley Race. Great counter wrestling gets thing going before Baba takes the action to the floor. Race runs Baba shoulder first into the ring post earning some heat. Back inside, Race plants Baba with back to back PILEDRIVERS for the three count. (Race 2; Baba 4) *
Match 4: Jimmy Snuka v. Cowboy Bob Orton The crowd exploded for Snuka as he makes his way to the ring. The Superfly and Orton have engaged in some very intense battled over the last few cards and the fans were ready for some more tonight. Snuka tears into Orton from the bell and the fans eat it up. Snuka lights up ringside with a dive over the ropes onto his opponent on the floor. Orton proves hard to beat however and survives a SUPERFLY LEAP (2). Orton gains control with counter wrestling and nearly beats Snuka with a SUPERPLEX. The action ends up back outside and Orton clocks Snuka with a steel chair busting Snuka open. Orton is disqualified. A bloody Snuka snaps and batters Orton around ringside sending the Cowboy fleeing to the back with an enraged and bloody Snuka in hot pursuit. (Orton 5; Snuka 5) ** ½ Match 5: Bobo Brazil v. Mr. Jonathan w/Jim Cornette The crowd is on fire as Brazil greets his fans at ringside. This one gets plenty of time and the action goes back and forth and in and out of the ring. There is a crazy spot where Jonathan comes off the top of the corner with a deathjump cross body block that leads to a 2 ½ count. Brazil comes back and busts open Jonathan at ringside. Jonathan survives a COCO BUTT and Brazil kicks out after a MORMON SWING. Late in the contest, Jonathan catches Brazil with a running slingshot in the corner and then follows with a second MORMON SWING. Brazil kicks out at that the last possible second and the crowd exploded. Jonathan hits the moves again and yells “stay down!” as he hooks the leg for the three count. (Brazil 7; Brazil 4) ****
Match 6: Greg Valentine w/Captain Lou Albano v. Johnny Valentine Great heat for the Hammer as Albano leads him to the ring. He is wearing “I broke my daddy’s leg” t-shirt with “your daddy is next” on the back. Johnny Valentine takes control from the opening bell but Albano lends a hand choking out Valentine on the floor turning things around for the Hammer. Johnny Valentine survives a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK drawing on the fans support as he rolls out of the hold. The action goes back and forth with both men getting in some hard hitting offense. Greg Valentine bloodies his father at ringside by ramming his head off the ring rails and is disqualified. Both men brawl their way around ringside until security arrives to break things up. (Johnny V 4; Greg V 4) **
Match 7: World Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (ch) v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano This was the Valiant Brothers fourth shot at the straps since dropping them to the Warriors earlier this year. The Warriors were not messing around tonight with Hawk quickly overpowering Jimmy Valiant. A DOOMSDAY DEVICE ends it after only a few minutes as Animal blocks Johnny Valiant from making the save and then decks Albano for good measure. (Johnny V 4; Jimmy V 5; Animal 3; Hawk 2) dud
Match 8: World Title Match: Mil Mascaras (ch) v. Nick Bockwinkel Mascaras got the best of Bockwinkel earlier this season when they engaged in bouts over three cards and now faces the former World Champions again tonight with the Title on the line. Bockwinkel attempts to slow down Mascaras early on with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Mascaras is able to escape and eventually picks up a near fall with a CROSSBODY ATTACK. The action goes back and forth and both men start to brawl more. The match goes out to the floor and Bockwinkel sends the Champion into the ring post shoulder first. A few minutes later, Mascaras reverses an Irish whip and Bockwinkel eats the steel post. The bell sounds and Mascaras has been disqualified. The fans are not pleased and fill the ring with trash as Bockwinkel escapes ringside leaving a furious Mascaras confronting the referee. (Bockwinkel 4; Mascaras 2) *
News & Views: There were some disappointing results tonight especially in the main event . . . Several feuds continue to heat up as the season winds down . . .The Road Warriors continue to dominate the Tag Team division . . .

Wow! That main event was stellar and the end was not in favor of the fans which is cool. I love how Mil Mascaras is upset, but he's the one who sent Bockwinkel into the post. I was glad to see Giant Baba & Mr.Johnathan each win their respective matches...

If I counted right I think I went 5-3 again. I know how you feel, Bookerbill, about disappointing results but the dice roll that way sometimes. It was still a fun show and I liked the rare DQ loss for Mil Mascaras. Who can stop the Road Warriors? Maybe Frank Gotch & Red Bastien?

Thank CC and Crue for the feedback. The main event was a lot of fun to roll out. I am hoping that Gotch and Bastien will give the Warriors a run for their money. They are going to have to go through eight teams to earn that shot as the next card will feature an 8 team tournament with the winner getting the next shot at the Warriors. First I am going to wrap up the last card of March to the Gold in my Ontario Fed before I return to LCW next week. In the meantime, here are the latest rankings.
Official Rankings World Champion: Mil Mascaras (ch) 1. Nick Bockwinkel (1) 2. Koko B. Ware (5) 3. Sabu (4) 4. The Destroyer (2) 5. Jimmy Snuka (-) 6. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (7) 7. Bobo Brazil (3) 8. Harley Race (6) 9. Johnny Valentine (-) 10. Giant Baba (-)
World Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors (ch) 1. Midnight Express (3) 2. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant (1) 3. Frank Gotch & Red Bastien (-) 4. Foreign Legion (2) 5. Killer Bees (5)

LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
WORLD TITLE MATCH Mil Mascaras, Champion v Nick Bockwinkel, Challenger
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE SHOT TOURNAMENT Eight Teams including the Midnight Express, Valiant Brothers, Foreign Legion and more will battle in a single elimination tournament. The winning team will receive the next shot at the Tag Team Titles
Glory Honour Respect
North Dartmouth, MA – Lincoln Park
Card 21: North Dartmouth, MA – Lincoln Park
Match 1: Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette & Mr. Jonathan v. Koko B. Ware & Bobo Brazil The fans give Brazil and Ware a huge ovation. Jonathan and Brazil have a stare down during the introductions. The action unfolds at a very quick pace with both teams getting the advantage at various times in the bout. Bobby Eaton gets in trouble late in the match and only a distraction by Cornette saves him from back to back GHOSTBUSTERS. Brazil has Eaton beat after a COCO BUTT but Jonathan breaks up the cover with a rolling back splash. The referee lets the action continue and the Express capitalize with a VEG-O-MATIC and then a ROCKET LAUNCHER on Brazil to advance to the next round. (Eaton 8; Lane 4; Ware 5; Brazil 3) **** ½
Match 2: Foreign Legion w/Nikita Breznikov v. Killer Bees The Foreign Legion draw huge heat on the mic before the bell. Nikolai Volkoff gives us the Russian Anthem. This one was an epic battle with the Foreign Legion unleashing everything they had and the Bees just refusing to go down. MASKED CONFUSION saves the Bees and turns the momentum around with Killer Bee #1 getting a couple of near falls on Iron Sheik. The power of the Foreign Legion proves to be the difference in the end as Volkoff catches Killer Bee #1 with a BACKBREAKER DROP for the win. (Sheik 5; Volkoff 4; Brunzell 7; Blair 10) *****
Match 3: Jimmy & Johnny Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano v. King Kong Bundy & Ted DiBiase The return of the Million Dollar Man to Legends Championship Wrestling has the fans on their feet and draws great heat. DiBiase offers to bribes Albano to have the Valiant Brothers leave the ring and Albano takes the cash. Jimmy Valiant has other ideas and slaps the cash away and decks Albano. The fans explode as Johnny Valiant dumps his manager to the floor and Jimmy goes after DiBiase. The Valiant Brothers now have the fans solidly behind them and take control of the action early on. Bundy does colour when he goes into the ring post. DiBiase shows why he is the one of the best in the world by carrying the balance of the match with his partner bloody and dazed. However, it is Bundy who gets revenge in the end when he picks up the submission with a big bear hug on Johnny Valiant. (Bundy 5; DiBiase 4; Johnny Valiant 6; Jimmy Valiant 5) *** ½ Match 4: Red Bastien & Frank Gotch v. The Destroyer & Giant Baba The fans great both teams warmly during the introductions. Handshakes all around at the open bell. The action is hot from the outset with both teams trading counter after counter. The former Tag Team Champions begin to take control of the match and Gotch manages to escape three consecutive FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCKS by Destroyer before countering a deathjump with a boot to the face. The action goes back and forth until Bastien runs Destroyer face first into the rails and is disqualified. The fans are not pleased with the call but Destroyer and Baba are onto the next round. (Bastien 4; Gotch 5; Baba 2; Destroyer 3) *** ½
Match 5: Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette & Mr. Jonathan v. Foreign Legion w/Nikita Breznikov Another rendition of the Russian Anthem draws great heat from ringside. These two teams have clashed a couple of times this season and simply do not like one another. The Legion uses their power to gain the early advantage but cannot find a way to end it. The Express uses double teaming to get back into the match and have the bout won with a ROCKET LAUNCHER on Iron Sheik. Breznikov jumps into the action but Mr. Jonathan cuts him off and slams him onto Sheik while Stan Lane brawls with Nikolai Volkoff. Bobby Eaton covers Sheik and the Express are onto the finals. (Lane 5; Eaton 4; Sheik 6; Volkoff 6) ** ½
Match 6: Ted DiBiase & King Kong Bundy v. Giant Baba & The Destroyer Bundy is patched up and is promising the fans a five count before this one is over. The teams match up well in terms of size. We get DiBiase against Destroyer early on and the former World Champion takes the Million Dollar Man to task. Destroyer nearly ends it after avoiding DiBiase’s charge into the corner. A tag to Baba seals DiBiase’s fate and Japanese Giant ends it with a NECKBREAKER DROP. (DiBiase 6; Bundy 5; Baba 3; Destroyer 3) *
Match 7: World Title Match – Mil Mascaras (ch) v. Nick Bockwinkel Last card Bockwinkel picked up a big disqualification win over Mascaras setting up an immediate rematch. Bockwinkel comes out like a man possessed and goes for an immediate win with a Boston Crab followed by a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Mascaras survives everything Bockwinkel could bring escaping a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and another BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Bockwinkel cracks Mascaras with a chair across the back at ringside and the fans are all over the referee. Mascaras is able to counter a deathjump with a boot to the face and finally mounts some offense. Bockwinkel kicks out after a FLYING BODYPRESS. The match goes to the floor and Bockwinkel whips the Champion into the ring post and is disqualified. Bockwinkel is not finished and grabs a chair smashing it into Mascaras’s leg. Bockwinkel then tosses Mascaras into the ring and applies a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Security arrives but the damage is done. Mascaras needs to be assisted to the back (three cards out of action) (Mascaras 6; Bockwinkel 5) ****
Match 8: Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette & Mr. Jonathan v. Giant Baba & The Destroyer The fans are spent after a solid night of action but still have some more heat to give Cornette and his men as then come to the ring. The bout starts slow as all four competitors have already wrestled twice tonight. Both teams are able to make tags. Bobby Eaton tosses The Destroyer to the floor. Stan Lane joins Eaton for a Double Goozle at ringside! Destroyer cannot recover and is counted out of the ring. Things do not end there as the Express then focus their attack on Baba and with the aid of Mr. Jonathan take Baba out with a ROCKET LAUNCHER. World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors hit the ring and send away Cornette and the Express with the assistance of a couple of steel chairs. (Eaton 5; Lane 5; Destroyer 4; Baba 4) dud
News & Views: The big news coming out of tonight’s card is that World Champion Mil Mascaras has been injured at the hands of Nick Bockwinkel and is expected to miss the next three cards of action. That means that Mascaras will miss a scheduled Title defence. The LCW competition committee will be faced with some very difficult decisions over the next few days as they decide the fate of World Champion . . . Congratulations to the Midnight Express for winning the Tag Team Tournament with a controversial victory over the team of Giant Baba & The Destroyer in the finals. The Express will now face World Champions Road Warriors for the Tag Team Titles next card . . . It appears that Jimmy & Johnny Valiant have official kicked Lou Albano to the curb. However, it does not appear that Johnny Valiant was complete sure about the decision following the Valiant Brothers first round loss. Johnny was seen in a heated discussion with his brother that ended with Jimmy telling his Johnny to grow a set and move on . . .

It's amazing how the dice can be cruel with a 5 star match between the Foreign Legion versus the Killer Bee's to the Final match being a DUD between the Midnight Express and Giant Baba & The Destroyer. The Foreign Legion vs. Killer Bees match must have been a barn burner for you to roll, it's cool seeing a 5 star bout. Mil Mascaras as the Champ has a tough road ahead now being injured at the hands of Nick Bockwinkel. Another Solid card and it'll be interesting to see how Mil Mascaras continues on with his injury...

I have to agree with everything Crimson said, Bookerbill. I really liked this show overall, though, and perhaps the Midnight Express are now poised to take it to the Road Warriors if they have any momentum going in coming off their tournament win. I also like the tension between Jimmy & Johnny Valiant with Jimmy decking Captain Lou Albano after he took the money from Ted Dibiase. That was classic ;D

Thanks for the feed back CC and Crue. I was really pulling for a fresh face to win the tournament and was disappointed when the seeding put Bastien & Gotch against Baba & Destroyer in the opening round. That would have been a great final round match. Baba & Destroyer did show they cannot be overlooked in the tag team picutre.
