With the emergency broadcast from the USS GUIDING LIGHT, the emergence of a new planetoid formed near Brymstone (it has been recently dubbed "Niflheimr" by the local population), and not to mention the fact of a returning Godsend- the system has been tense to say the least.
The Maffei II arena for the first time since the FTR inception did not sell out as fans decided to stay home near their love ones. However, the show must go on and the race to the next UPRIZING event is getting furious.
The fireworks erupted and the broadcast began...
Blue Chip vs.
ChameleonChameleon defeated Blue Chip with an ANIWOMAN AX HANDLE
Match Rating: 0.00
Match Notes: As the bell rang, Chameleon 'blended' in with the ring and she was nearly impossible for Blue Chip to see. The Aniwoman pounced and used a slime bite that saw the Earthling stagger. Before Chameleon could touch Blue Chip again, he seemed to pass out and collapse to the mat.
Chameleon used an ANIWOMAN AX HANDLE for good measure and covered him for the pin. The referee panicked as Blue Chip's lips and extremities began to turn a different color. Several officials ran down into the ring, put the fan favorite on a stretcher, and took him back to the locker room (assuredly to be sent to a medical facility).
The Andromedan diva looked puzzled and began to tear up while stating that she didn't know what was happening.
What will the fate of Blue Chip? The FTR management will keep the fans posted of any breaking discoveries.
Gobbler vs.
UranusGobbler defeated Uranus with a Hammerlock Slam
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: This wasn't one of those technical matches or one where both participants show off their sheer power. No, it was one that devolved into a slap fight as Uranus and Gobbler brought a much needed comedic relief to the already overly tense arena.
Gobbler fumbled a few maneuvers and would gain the upper hand with a Hammerlock Slam! He covered his opponent for a pin attempt. As the referee was counting, Uranus was focused on trying to reach the ropes (never mind the fact that he was in the center of the ring) instead of kicking out of the attempt.
Gobbler's hand was raised in triumph by the official!
The vidscreen illuminated the arena and a voice bellowed over the intercom system; "It has become tradition that once a year, the fans of the GWF choose the stipulations of all matches involved of one special PaPer View. On Circunus, the home of one of the federation’s most brutal matches, the GWF presents...CYBER CLASH (Card #1072)! Be there as history will made by YOU...the fans...stay tuned for a chance to enter your input on this mega event!"
Conquerors of the Galaxy vs.
The NativesYgorr defeated Murtak with a diving head butt
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: If this match was as horrible as it felt playing through, I would be surprised that any of the fans remained in the arena after this stinker of a match!
Both sides bounced move after ineffective move off one another while Murtak constantly ran his mouth about how Honey the Incredible Badger needs to shown her place in society. He yapped about how he plans on snipping off the diva's hair soon to ensure she looked more dignified rather than a dirty rodent.
Murtak ran his mouth for a tad bit long as Honey (who was disguised as a fan at ringside) jumped the guard rails after the referee suffered a bump from a ill placed body slam by Mass.
Honey slid into the ring and leveled both members of Conquerers of the Galaxy with a nasty side kick for each of them! As quickly as she entered the ring, she slid out and smiled all the way back to the locker room.
As Ygorr used a diving headbutt, he covered Murtak and the referee miraculously recovered and slapped the mat three times. Shortly after, Murtak argued that he wasn't even the legal man but it fell on deaf ears.
Armour vs.
AstarteAstarte defeated Armour with a small package
Match Rating: 0.00
Match Notes: Armour's hyde is starting to show scratches and marks from his past endeavors with the failed Plantation project. The cuddly armadillo is trying to have both Plethador and Mayham reconcile their differences but is getting caught in the middle of both parties.
Th Animan started of strong but would miss a turnbuckle charge that Astartes simply rolled his opponent up in a small package for the ref to slap canvas thrice.
Astartes won the match in less than a minute! Oh, how far has Armour fallen?
The vidscreen illuminates once more with a set of virtual dice rolling away from the camera and bouncing on the back of a craps table. The image exploded into millions of sparkling dots and started to reform into a marquee. A voice bellowed throughout the arena, " At the Planet Vega Hotel and Casino on Vega, the players in the FTR will roll the dice on their very careers...will they be victorious and reach great heights or will they crash and burn into oblivion?!? Witness history in the making... UPRIZING: ROYAL FLUSH (Card#1071.5). Tickets go on sale immediately...hedge your bets or prepare to crap out!"
*FTR Championship Non-Title Match* Captain Crossbones vs.
Disciple of TerrorCaptain Crossbones defeated Disciple of Terror with a BLACK SAILS
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: These two have matched up well in the past and this match was no exception! Both men traded blows with one another with each using their finishers early in the match.
The FTR Champion (Captain Crossbones) would reach deep down and land a plunder kick that set the Cygnusian up for the BLACK SAILS finisher.
1-2-3! Crossbones retained! Disciple of Terror quickly sprung to his feet and complained that the referee had counted too fast! He shoved the referee a few times until Captain Crossbones grabbed his attention while speaking on a ringside microphone.
Crossbones slowly spoke, "Disciple of Terror...we have fought for a year now for the FTR title...I will give you one more chance at UPRIZING: ROYAL FLUSH...however, with two conditions...one...if you lose, you will never get another chance as long as I am champion...(Disciple of Terror hesitantly nodded his head)..and finally, the match will be a Walk The Plank match!"
With that being said, the arena lights went out and the show went off the air.
