Mat Madness Announcement I was sick all weekend, so I did not begin rolling the Mat Madness Matches. I will probably not begin posting the results until this weekend. That means I will extend the deadline for making your picks. I will accept picks up until Saturday August 23 at 5:00 P.M. Remember to pick the winners of EACH MATCH all the way through the tournament. The winner will receive a limited edition Shann-Ra the Demon Queen bootleg.

Mat Madness 1a
WarZone
-Sly Drury, The Betrayer, Valour, and Overtime are in the Outlaw Nation locker room. The Dark Menace is on a video screen talking to Sly Drury.
“Good job acquiring the Galaxian Championship, Drury. We need to go over the arrangements for handing the belt over to Monolith.”
“Before we do that, we need to talk about out fee.”
“Did you forget that we had already agreed on a price?”
“Yes, but that was before my man had the Demmon’s Breath blown into his eyes. The price has now doubled to compensate for his pain and suffering.”
“FINE! I will double the fee. But I warn you, DO NOT TRY THIS AGAIN. You have no idea who…”
SMASH!
Valour’s sword crashes into the video screen, shattering it.
“I am nay handing this trophy over to the Dark Menace, Monolith, nor anyone else. That is not the way of a warrior.”
Sly Drury turns to Valour.
“Listen, we already agreed on this. And I just doubled our money. Besides, there is no way you can defend that title all the way through the Mat Madness tournament. We can make more money this way.”
“Dost thou doubt this warrior’s mettle? Thou watcheth me!”
Valour retrieves his sword from the remainder of the monitor and leaves the locker room.
Drury looks to The Betrayer.
“Looks like it is time for plan B.”
The Betrayer holds out a leather bag and throws it up and down .
“Valour may not have a price, but I know who does!”
-Ring announcer Starla Bryte is in the ring.
“Fans, please welcome tonight’s candidate for the new WarZone color commentator…Hegemony!”
Hegemony sits down at the announcer’s table.
“Those of you watching tonight are very lucky. I, Hegemony, will give you a taste of the wealth of wrestling knowledge that is stored in my head.”
-Mat Madness First Round Match
Tricks (#2 Seed) (4) vs. Gemin (#15 Seed) (GWFZ)
Gemin came out early and tried three pin attempts. Tricks gained control of the match and won with Sleepy Time.
“What a disgrace to see this clown victorious tonight. The squared circle is a stage for the greatest athletes in the universe, not circus sideshow freaks. Legends like Halrey Race, Ric Flair, Mat Osborne, Torin Caelum, and Thantos would never be caught dead wearing makeup in the ring. You fans need to educate yourself and come to a GWFZ show and watch me wrestle. I will show you what a real wrestler looks like.”
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 1 GWFZ: 0
-Mat Madness First Round Match
Rettribution (#6) vs. Doctor Payne (#11) (GWFZ) (2) w. Nurse Elizabeth
Retribution took control of the match early. Doctor Payne rolled out of the ring and attempted to drink from his mysterious vile. The referee was trying to stop Doctor Payne from drinking the medicine. Retribution pushed the referee aside and smashed Doctor Payne into the steel rail, sending the vile flying into the audience. Retribution was disqualified for pushing the referee.
“Now that is more like it. I personally do not like the man, but at least Doctor Payne has respect for this great sport. A brute like Retribution did not stand a chance against a skilled ring technitian like Doctor Payne.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 1 GWFZ: 1
-American Guy is walking down a backstage hallway when he sees Phantasy talking to Havoc.
“Thanks for giving making the match at War Games. I am finally rid of that stupid little air headed cheerleader. “
“You can thank me by honoring that favor you promised me.”
“Anytime you want it.”
“How tomorrow night? That will help get me ready for my tournament match.”
“That would be perfect. Guy will be autographing barbecue grills at the Galaxy Grill Showcase.”
“You know, you really deserve better than that beer guzzling bum.”
“Guy is not so bad. You should try to get to know him.”
“I’ll pass. I like to hang out with a better class of people. People like you.”
“You are such a flirt. So I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I can’t wait.”
“It will be the best you ever had!”
“I’m sure it will!”
Havoc leaves.
American Guy emerges from the shadows and grabs Phantasy by the hair.
“Don’t you dare touch Havoc, do you understand?”
“Guy, please…we were just…”
“Shut it! If I find out that you as much as put your pinky on that man I will snap your neck in two.”
Guy pushes Phantasy to the floor and stomps away.
Phantasy curls up in a ball and sobs.
-Mat Madness First Round Match
Thraxx (#5) (1) vs. The Legacy (#12) (GWFZ) (3)
Thraxx won easily, pinning The Legacy with a deathjump.
“Legecy has such innate talent, but that bum does not know how to tap into it. He should have easily beaten that big oaf Thraxx. Legacy, if you can hear me, if you let me be your tag team partner I will elevate your game to heights you have only dreamed of.”
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 2 GWFZ: 1
-American Guy finds Vidtek in the video control room.
“Vidtek, I have a job for you. Tomorrow night Havoc is going over to Phantasy’s apartment. I need you to set up some secret cameras and record their rondevouz. Then on the next War Zone I will broadcast it so that the entire galaxay can see what a little slut Phantasy is. And then she will pay for cheating on me”
“I can do that, but it is not going to be cheap.”
“I don’t care. I have put up with her infidelity long enough!”
-Mat Madness First Round Match
Sly Drury (#3) vs. Anivar (#14) (GWFZ)
Drury pinned Anivar with Crime Lord.
“No surprise here. Anivar could not cut it in the GWF and he isn’t doing much better in the GWFZ. I am embarrassed to even be in the same organization as that no talent bum.”
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 3 GWFZ: 1
-Ring announcer Starla Bryte is in the ring.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your Tough Enough Winner…Incognito!”
Incognito walks to the ring.
Hegemony stands up at the announce table.
“Wait right there, you imposter! That’s right, Incognito, I am talking to you! There are hundreds of talented wrestlers like myself struggling to prove themselves in order to climb in the GWF ring. And you walk in here with no talent, win some kind of popularity contest, and all of a sudden you get a one year GWF contract? How can you look yourself in the mirror when there are skilled mat technicians like myself that deserve the space you are taking up on the GWF roster?”
Incognito walks over to the announce table. He grabs the microphone out of Hegemony’s hand.
“Why don’t you ask all of these fans if they think I deserve a GWF contract? They are the ones who voted for me!”
Hegeomony takes the microhphone back.
“Most wrestling fans do not know an ankle lock from a wedgie. All they care anout is who has the most muscles or the coolest gimmick.”
Hegemony throws the microphone in Incognito’s face. Incognito pushes Hegemony down to the floor. Hegemony gets up and raises his fists to fight. Security runs to ringside and separates the two men. They escort both wrestlers backstage.
-Mat Madness First Round Match
American Guy (#4) w. Phantasy vs. Tristan (#13) (GWFZ)
Phantasy walks to the ring with American Guy. Her eyes are red and watery.
Moments after the bell rang to start the match, Havoc came to ringside. He whispered in Phantasy’e ear. Guy’s attention was on Havoc when Tristan hit American Guy with a Spinning Leg Lariat for the pin.
Havoc walks back to the locker room, laughing all the way.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 3 GWFZ: 2
-Star Warrior walks to the announce table.
“I came out here to personally apologize to the fans of the GWF for the actions of Hegemony. He was out of line to attack Incognito. That is not the kind of behavior that I expect out of my GWFZ wrestlers. Again, I am very sorry for the actions of Hegemony.”
Star Warrior remains at the announce table.
-Cakejedi walks to the ring carrying a case.
“Ladies and gentlemen, The Cakejedi is very honored that Massif has invited the Cakejedi to participate in the Mat Madness Tournament. But the Cakejedi is here tonight to honor two of your GWF wrestlers. Would Plethador and Cuddley Claw please come to the ring.”
Plethatdor and Cuddley Claw walk to the ring.
“Plethador…Cuddley Claw…The two of you demonstrated great courage at the War Games Pay-Per-View. The courage and bravery you demonstrated in trying to help Latasha is what the Cake Jedi Order is all about. The Cakejedi is here tonight to name the two of you the Cakejedi’s Soos Chef Padawans.”
Cakejedi opens the case and hands Plethador and Cuddley Claw Jedi Chef Robes. He then reaches in and gives each of his new Soos Chef Padawans a lightsaber spatula. Plethador ignites his lightsaber spatuala into a blue blade. Cuddley Claw turns his lightsaber spatula on and a green blades hisses to life. Cuddley Claw stares at the glowing green blade. His eyes grow heavy. Cuddley Claw falls asleep. His head falls forward and the green blade singes the hair on the top if his head, starling the koala out of his brief slumber.
-Mat Madness First Round Match
U.S. Male (#7) (3) vs. Tristan (#13) (GWFZ)
U.S. Male used three Patriot Missles to pin Grillz.
“A big win for U.S. Male. He really hasn’t gotten very far in his career since Stars and Stripes broke up. So it is important for him to go far in this tournament. And Grillz made a great run in the GWFZ qualifying battle royal. So this was a great victory for U.S. Male.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 4 GWFZ: 2
-Monolith walks to the ring. He grabs a microphone.
“Monolith and Wolf had big battle at War Games. At end of the battle, bodies were broken. But Monolith and Wolf still stood. We are warriors. We must battle to see who is the strongest. Monolith wants Wolf in a best of ten series. Monolith wants answer NOW!”
Wolf walks to the ring.
Wolf walks up to Monolith and stares him in the eye. Monolith stares back. The fans cheer loudly as the two wrestlers stare at each other.
Wolf nods his head and holds out his hand.
Monolith shakes Wolf’s hand.
Wolf walks away as the fans cheer.
Monolith shouts
“Monolith RULES!”
Wolf turns around on the stage and HOWLS!
The fans cheer louder!
-Mat Madness First Round Match
Reckless (#8) ( 2) vs. Vidtek (#9) (3)
Reckless won with Flying Hazard.
“This was an easy win for Reckless. Vidtek just doesn’t seem to have it all together since coming back from his injury….I would like to get back to the incident with Hegemony earlier tonight. I do not excuse his actions, but I do understand where he is coming from. Massif and I are good friends, but we have had a disagreement over this whole Tough Enough concept. I have a locker room full of great athletes that bust there butts in gymns and at world fairs trying to get ahead in this business, a business that they love. And they see some independent hot shot come in and win a GWF contract just for competing in a contest designed to get ratings. Something does not seem fair about that.”
-Valour walks to the ring with the Galaxian Championship belt. The fans boo the new Champion.
“Sly Drury wishes that I relinquish this prize to Monolith before my contest tonight.”
The fans boo louder.
“But I say NAY to this! I am a warrior! And a warrior wins or loses in battle. If Monolith wishes to wrest this prize from my grasp, it must be done in battle.”
Some of the fans now cheer Valour.
-Mat Madness First Round Match Galaxian Championship
Valour (#1) (1) (GALAXIAN CHAMPION) vs. Azalin (IWF-Mat Madness Open Winner)(3)
Valour hit two Warrior’s Rages on Azalin. Azalin kicked out of both. Valour set his sword in the middle of the ring. The Champion climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit Azalin with a flying bulldog, snashing the challenger’s head onto the sword. Valour then hit a third Warrior’s Rage and got the pin.
The Betrayer runs to the ring. The Betrayer and Azalin nail Valour with a double running clothesline. Azalin then hits three Remove All Doubts on the Cahmpion. Valour lays in the center of the ring, unconscois.
The Betrayer throws a leather bag to Azalin. The Betrayer then reaches into his tights and pulls out a can of spray paint. He sprays “O N” on the front of the Galaxian Championship belt and drops it on the prone Valour.

A GREAT kick off to the Mat Maddness Tournament! I went 6-2 with my picks. Not bad at all! ;D Cuddley Claw & Plethador as Soos Chef Padawans - LOL! Great stuff!! They deserve it for their actions...HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! Monolith vs. Wolf should be big for you...I think Monolith wins it easily though. I'm really glad that Valour is refusing to surrender the Title to Monolith! I think he can survive most of the Tournament with the Title, but my picks have Monolith taking it in the end. Keep up the great shows my friend!

Mat Madness 2122 (Card 1b)
Andromeda Bracket
-Swarm (#2 Seed) (3 Pin Tokens) vs. Morbid (#15 Seed) (GWFZ) (5 Pin Tokens)
A great match to kick off the Andromeda Bracket. Swarm controlled the match. Morbid rolled out of the ring to try to stop Swarm’s onslaught. Swarm and Morbid brawled outside of the ring. Morbid took control after the brawl. He threw Swarm back into the ring. Morbid then grabbed a chair and climbed to the top of the turnbuckle. Morbid tossed the chair in the air. He then jumped off the turnbuckle and drove the chair onto the prone Swarm with his body. Morbid then covered Swarm for the pin.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 4 GWFZ: 3
-Zygon (#6) (7) vs. Surgeon (#11) (GWFZ) (7)
Another great match! Surgeon took control after Lethal Injection. Surgeon was able to dish out a great deal of punishment, but could not pin Zygon. Zygon applied a +2 Tri-Claw, but Surgeon was able to get to the ropes. Badly hurt by the Tri-Claw, Surgeon laid prone on the mat. Zygon climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit a flying elbow for the pin.
The fans gave both wrestlers a standing ovation as they walked back to the locker room.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 5 GWFZ: 3
-Havoc (#5b (7b) vs. Motor Psycho (#12) (GWFZ) (3)
Havoc was either still suffering from injuries sustained in the Aethrean Ultimate Escape Match or he had too good of a time with Phantasy the night before because he mounted very little offense. Motor Psycho hit Havoc with Robotic Brass Knuckles, busting him open and getting the pin.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 5 GWFZ: 4
-Payback (#3) (5) vs. Irish Heat (#14) (GWFZ) (2) DQ
Irish Heat dished out a lot of punishment to Payback, but could not get a pin. Irish Heat got mad and was disqualified for Dropping Heat.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 6 GWFZ: 4
-Xiongmao (#4) vs. Slegend (#13) (GWFZ)
Slegend won by default when Xiongmao failed to appear for the match.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 6 GWFZ: 5
-Overtime (#7) vs. Strong (#10) (GWFZ) (2)
Strong rolled out of the ring after an unsuccessful Clincher applied by Overtime. The referee tried to stop Overtime from going out of the ring after Strong. Strong punched Overtime while the referee was restraining him. Strong then hit STRONG! For the pin.
GWF vs. GWFZ HEAD TO HEAD GWF: 6 GWFZ: 6
-Paralyze (#8) vs. Pulsar (#9) (5)
Pulsar showed obvious ring rust as Paralyze dominated the match. Paralyze won with a torture rack backbreaker.
-Muss (#1) vs. Jobber (#16) (IWF-Commissioner’s Invitation)
Jobber threw Muss out of the ring. The two men brawled outside of the ring. Muss picked up Jobber and threw him onto the time keeper’s table. Muss began to climb back into the ring to beat the ten count. Jobber ran over to Muss and grabbed his boot as the referee counted
8
9
10!
Both men were counted out.
Jobber ran over to the ring announcer and grabbed Starla Bryte’s microphone.
He began laughing
“HA! HA! HA! HA! I just busted this bracket! Too Bad….So Sad! GOODBYE!”
With that Jobber ran threw the audience and disappeared.
-3T Championship
Nosfera (CHAMPION) (2) vs. Cuddley Claw (4) vs. Monolith
Nosfera pinned Cuddley Claw with a Spring Heel Kick.
