GWF Superstars
Monday February 6th, 2087
The screen is dark for a few moments as yet another wrestler decides to interrupt the opening of the show for their own purposes. Not just any wrestler however, this is the Galaxian Champion, the Evil Gamemaster himself: Thantos! Shrouded in shadow the leader of the Evil Wrestlers glares into the camera as he begins to speak.
"This is the Galaxian Title, it belongs to me," Thantos intoned. "Star Warrior learned what I do to people who try and take it from me. It was only due to our past together that I refrained from eliminating him right then and there but should he continue to try and take what is mine, I will have no recourse but to end his career. In case he has not learned his lesson however, I have prepared an object lesson that will take place next week."
An evil smile spread over the face of Thantos. Well all his smiles are evil really but this one was particularly so.
"The fans would have me defend my title and I shall do so but it won't be Star Warrior who receives this title shot. On February the twelth I will face off against a legend of wrestling in what could quite possibly be his final title shot, the man they call the Legend of Cetus, Star Warrior's father....Omega."
Thantos chuckled mirthlessly.
"It will do me good to crush your father Star Warrior," Thantos said. "Now forget about Keller and Blacklash you cretins, TO THE OPENING MATCH!"
Beast-Rider defeats Vanity
Summary: Needless to say neither KO Keller nor Blacklash were particularly amused about being dismissed so casually by Thantos, though Blacklash took it better then Keller did. Keller in fact would grumble about it through out the rest of the match, though he tried to remain as professional as possible. The match itself was surprisingly one sided considering how Looks Can Kill had been dominating the Space Croppers in tag team action as of late. In fact after an early body slam attempt was countered with a Beast Knee Shuffle the match went downhill for Vanity. After that he was slammed against the ring barrier on the outside with a cross body from the top rope and hit with a Cropper Slam and a Bulldog Ride. From that point the pin was academic.
"A quick victory by Beast Rider here," KO Keller said, Vanity's loss seeming to have put him in a slightly better mood. "Killer Queen was too busy preparing for his six man match against the FDF with Exo-King and Death Knight to interfere."
"Maybe so Keller but the big announcement here is the title defence next week," Blacklash said. "Thantos versus Omega!"
"The champion rather overconfident going into that match as he is this week for his non-title match against Renegade in a few moments. Tonight however, The Gladiators will be defending the Galaxian Tag Team Titles in the main event against the Flying Titans!"
Though he seemed to be dodging the conversation regarding next week's main event, Blacklash oddly didn't push the issue. Perhaps because the former boxer still seemed annoyed about being dismissed by Thantos, an annoyance that only grew once The Imperial March began to play to signal Thantos' entrance to the ring.
Thantos defeats Renegade
Summary: Not really a surprise here as Renegade hasn't done quite as well as Beast Rider has in singles competition. Despite a quick start by Renegade, Thantos quickly took over and dominated the rest of the match with very little difficulty at all. Though Renegade showed a great deal of heart as he vainly tried to struggle back against the Evil Gamemaster, it only made his lost all the more poignant as he was mercilessly pounded into the mat. In the end Thantos slapped on the Masterlock for the easy victory. Before he could try to do anymore damage to the fallen Neptunian however, Of Wolf and Man began to play as Wolf ran down to the ring.
"And there goes Thantos!" KO Keller yelled. "Wolf's chasing him through the crowd, Thantos seems to be heading to the parking lot!"
"Wolf should be staying focussed Keller, he's got another match with Comrade Terror this evening!"
The Executioner defeats Lord Nexus
Summary: Though the masked Executioner was known to be a fierce opponent, due to focussing his efforts on his tag team with Ghenghis Khan very few people had seen what he could do in singles competition. In fact the last time he'd wrestled in a singles match was at Genesis where he'd been defeated by Commander Sam. Thus nobody thought he had much of a chance against the leader of the Flying Titans. Executioner would proceed to dominate the match, brutalising Lord Nexus with every sort of dirty trick there was in the book including a particularly nasty powerbomb on the floor after tossing Nexus from the ring. Though Lord Nexus managed to kick out of the Headman's Guillotine the first time and Executioner wasn't able to finish off Nexus with a face claw as he clearly wished too, obviously an attempt to goad Wolf, the masked man did manage to hit a second Headman's Guillotine to get the victory.
Mutant defeats Commander Sam
Summary: Normally Mutant defeating somebody like Commander Sam would be considered an upset, Sam is after all a legend of wrestling. However when one's victory is solely because of the interference of Comrade Terror the acheivement is more then a little tarnished. Oh Mutant managed to give Commander Sam a tough match on his own certainly but left to his own devices he would surely have lost the match as any offence he managed to achieve was inevitably stifled by the veteran. As Sam was preparing to finish Mutant off however, Comrade Terror slipped into the ring and felled the Mighty American with a flying skullcrusher. Though he was merely dazed, this was all the opportunity that Mutant would need. Though Sam managed to struggle free of several Temple Grinder's, a series of face slams would eventually get the victory.
"Terror!" Sam screamed after the match. "I've had just about enough of you you cowardly lizard! Next week, you and me!"
Sam's challenge was only met by the sibulant laughter of Comrade Terror over the house speakers, a chilling sound almost like fingernails on a blackboard.
"I think that means yes," Blacklash commented.
The Greek Gods defeated Invincible Krakan and Ghengis Khan.
Summary: "It's not usual to see Invincible Krakan entering the tag ranks like this Keller," Blacklash noted. "Do you suppose he was considering taking over as Khan's tag partner?"
"Well judging from his performance this evening that would not be a wise idea Blacklash," Keller replied. "Krakan's inexperience in tag team wrestling certainly showed here as he was unable to help Khan once the Mad Mongolian was isolated."
It was probably not a coincidence that Krakan seemed to glare at KO Keller all the way to the back, as though he somehow knew that the commentator was speaking poorly of him.
The Federation Defence Fighters defeated The Evil Ones
Summary: It was certainly a wild match but as seems to be the case in six man tags involving the FDF and the Evil Ones, it did not last long. Exo-King and Commander Sam started things off and though Exo-King's strength seemed to be a match for the Mighty American, Sam quickly tagged out to Massif who seemed to be the equal of the Evil One's big man. The two battled back and forth and when Massif seemed to get an advantage, Exo-King tagged out to Killer Queen who promptly got his tail handed to him by Massif. The big man obliterated Killer Queen, who only managed to avoid defeat due to a huge brawl amongst both teams, the first of which was won by the FDF and led to Queen getting pinned again. The second brawl, which saved Queen again, was won by the Evil Ones but Queen was sadly unable to capitalise. Unable to finish off Massif, one simple mistake led to Queen getting piledrivered and pinned.
"This isn't over Keller," Blacklash muttered.
Wolf defeats Comrade Terror by disqualification.
Summary: Pretty much a carbon copy of the last time these two fought, as Terror tried his best but Wolf was simply too much for him. The Andromedan would then proceed to dominate Terror before Executioner interfered. This time however the masked man was spotted hitting the Headsman's Guillotine on Wolf and Terror was promptly disqualified. Not only that, Executioner hadn't quite nailed Wolf as hard as he'd thought resulting in him and Wolf brawling their way to the back.
Apparently they weren't the only ones having a bit of a row either as security was busy trying to pull apart the Space Croppers and Looks Can Kill, after Renegade apparently had tried to jump Killer Queen after the six man tag team match. As security struggled to keep them apart, Renegade challenged the Killer Queen and Vanity to a tag team match with Titan Death Match rules. Killer Queen immediatly accepted!
The Flying Titans defeat The Gladiators to become the new Galaxian Tag Team Champions!
Summary: This can only be called the greatest upset in the history of the GWF at this point as the Flying Titans, looked at as simply another notch on the belts of Brute and Massacre, became the first team to wether the Aethran's assault and win the tag team titles!
The Gladiators seemed to have the match well in hand, with Brute effortlessly manhandling both members of the Titans at one point but thanks to his fighting spirit and determination, not to mention timely rescues by Pulsar when the situation got really bad, allowed Pit Viper to continue. Ironically it was the entrance of Massacre into the match, normally considered the more dangerous of the Gladiators due to his intelligence, that proved to be the Aethran's downfall as he proved unable to resist Pit Viper's brutal martial arts assault as easily as Brute had. Eventually Pit Viper was able to wear Massacre down and with a Venom Blast, the third of the match, he was able to knock Massacre cold and win the titles for his team.
