The Global Wrestling Federation finally has returned to the Mile High area for this annual event (this year’s super card was subtitled-“Identity crisis”). The buzz for this event has been at an all time high as the build up has escalating for several weeks and this event was one that never seems to disappoint!
The lights fade…the pyrotechnics launch into the air above Invesco Field and erupt with a thunderous eruption from both the fireworks and the fans in the arena. The stadium’s spotlights center in front of the entrance ramp and Latasha comes out to her theme music (“Beautiful Girl” by Shaggy). The diva stops about half way down the ramp, is handed a microphone, and announces that she wanted everyone to meet the newest member to the Public Enemy’s stable… Matinee Idol! As these two finally climbed into the squared circle, the newcomer’s opponent made his way to the ring…the fan favorite-Cuddley Claw!
**Cuddley Claw versus Matinee Idol**
Matinee Idol manhandled the Koala with several running power bombs and two AWARD WINNER finishing maneuvers but could not manage to keep the Andromedan’s shoulders down for the three count. The lovable Animan slowly made a comeback but ironically he fell asleep himself with a Cuddley Sleeper and Matinee Idol was flabbergasted to see that his opponent was already had fallen asleep out of nowhere. Latasha’s protégé locked on the wishbone for good measure but the referee ended up stopping the bout as Cuddley began snoring in the submission maneuver and awarded the match to the newcomer. Winner: Matinee Idol (* ½).
** Daimyo versus Gatekeeper**
During a Daimyo and Kill Prey match at New Year’s Slaughter 2008, the Gatekeeper and Dead Ringer (originally, along with Daimyo, were thought to be the same person) stormed the ring and attacked both participants with their perspective finishers! Throughout the following month, it was revealed that the one claiming to be Daimyo in fact was an imposter and not the other way around! After several attempts at getting Daimyo in the ring by Gatekeeper, the Board of Directors informed ‘Daimyo’ that if he did not wrestle this match than he would be released from the company. So, here we are…
These two battled for several minutes before the Gatekeeper gained the upper hand! After a leaping DDT, Gatekeeper went for the pin but Dead Ringer would jump over the guard rail and leap onto the ring apron! Gatekeeper climbed up to his feet and glared at the mirror masked man before Dead Ringer pointed over Gatekeeper’s shoulder! Gatekeeper spun around and countered a spine buster with a double underhook face slam and the CLOSING OF THE GATE for the three count!
The Gatekeeper went for the mask of Daimyo but the imposter spewed a red mist into Gatekeeper’s eyes and the Gatekeeper rolled around the mat in agony! Dead Ringer climbed through the ropes and attempted to put down the imposter Daimyo but would be put down on his back with a BOLO TRIP! ‘Daimyo’ stripped the mask off of Dead Ringer and revealed that the person underneath the mirror was a minor league wrestler that is a friend of Gatekeepers!
‘Daimyo’ turned around to focus his attention to his match opponent but once again met with the Gatekeeper’s CLOSING OF THE GATE maneuver! The Gatekeeper wasted no time this time and ripped off the imposter’s mask and everyone in the arena was shocked to the imposter’s identity (including Gatekeeper)…the imposter was the Mad Jester! The maniacal clown began to laugh hysterically and sprayed another mist in Gatekeeper’s face but this time Gatekeeper was prepared and was able to cover his eyes in time. The Mad Jester leapt over the top rope and scrambled to the locker room. The Gatekeeper attended to his downed friend and the two limped to the back as well. Winner: Gatekeeper (½ *).
**Sultana versus Xenia**
The country ballad of “All My Ex’s Live In Texas” by George Straight blared throughout the stadium as Xenia (or as she wants to be called at the moment ‘Bambi’) made her way to the ring. The recently converted trailer park hoochie looked a little rusty after Sultana nearly pinned the newly discovered redneck heiress with a Sultana Splash. Bambi…err, Xenia…took over and used a falling face slam and the MOTHER RUSSIA finisher for the victory. Winner: Xenia (*).
**Flaming Table Match**
**Saboteur versus Shylock**
**Saboteur versus Shylock**
This match has a L-O-N-G history and the following is just a brief overview of the events leading to this match. On the Wild Wednesday (Card#516) broadcast, Shylock’s teammates from the Inner Circle (Mensar & Euritar) had a fall out and they failed to show up for their scheduled bout against the team of Genesis. Massif, the returning Commissioner, informed Prodigy (the former Interim Commissioner) that his thugs violated a legal contract and Massif informed Prodigy that as his official act as the returning Commissioner would be to put Shylock in a series of 5 matches against…Saboteur!
The series was a stomp fest as Saboteur cleaned his hated rival’s clock and swept the first three matches in a Hardcore Titan Death match, a Four Weapons of Destruction match, and a Mixed Martial Arts match. Sadly this proved not to be enough for Saboteur as he attempted to make Shylock not only suffer in the professional world but in the personal life as well! Saboteur broke into Shylock’s house and assaulted Shylock’s wife and kidnapped his oldest son.
Both Prodigy and Massif were concerned that they created a monster and asked the authorities if they could try to reason with Saboteur to return the child and then turn himself in. However when they tried to talk to Saboteur, he clotheslined Massif and used the EYE FOR AN EYE submission on Prodigy before telling the two fallen superstars that he will ONLY do as they suggest if he can face Shylock one last time. The GWF’s last two Commissioners later agreed but have been sequestered to put the duo in one of the most dangerous matches ever in the history of wrestling…the Flaming Table match! Prodigy added that the match will be unsanctioned and he feels sorry for Shylock’s opponent because Prodigy talked to the former Inner Circle member earlier during the week and Shylock stated that he would not rest until Saboteur is burnt to a crisp!
The match was mostly dominated by Saboteur and the masked assassin even clamped on VENGEANCE IS MINE but it wasn’t meant to be on this super card. Saboteur stacked both tables on top of one another on the outside of the ring and ignited both tables! He then tossed Shylock into the ropes and attempted to use a backdrop but Shylock predicted his hated rival’s move and caught him in a lightning quick DDT! Shylock verbally assaulted Saboteur and then picked Saboteur up and used a top rope choke slam to send Saboteur careening through the burning tables! The motion of Saboteur crashing through the tables created an back draft like flame up and an burning inferno engulfed Saboteur. The emergency crews came down but Shylock attacked them and prevented them from reaching Saboteur until finally Shylock’s wife and surprisingly his son came running down to ringside. Shylock embraced his family and spat “I am my own man and I hope you burn in hell” before leaving the stadium. Winner: Shylock. (*).
** Woman’s Championship Title match**
**Mother Superior (ch) versus Strafe **
**Mother Superior (ch) versus Strafe **
The newest Aethran diva defeated the Woman’s champion on card#513 with her finisher TERMINAL HEGHT to earn the championship match as Mother Superior went almost undefeated in the month of January (except for the loss to Strafe of course). Mother Superior was looking to silence critics that doubt her ability and have stated that she is a “filler champ” until the greatest woman to hold the title regains the title for another Shann Ra title reign!
Mother Superior silenced a few of her critics after only a couple minutes with several Feel The Pain maneuvers that proved the challenger’s downfall as Mother Superior used SERPENTS OF HYDRA for the duke. Winner: Mother Superior (*).
**Aethran Datchik Match**
**Monolith versus Disaster**
**Monolith versus Disaster**
The ‘datchik’ match is a match originated on Aethra and there is no other match in the world that is even close to its uniqueness. Each combatant wears a special visor that displays the wearer of the visor through the opponent’s eyes e.g. if a wrestler is locking on the figure four, he would see himself locking it on.
As everyone in the federation knows, there is no love lost between Disaster and monolith and as of late the matches between these two could have gone either way with most of their encounters being strewn with interference or double counts!
These two behemoths battled for almost fifteen minutes with Disaster keeping the momentum for most of the match. The Aethran continued his assault with a series of atomic spikes and a decapitator that finally put the Big Man down! Disaster attempted a throat slam but Monolith acted on instinct with a low blow and used the feared THE END OF ALL THINGS finisher to lay the Aethran’s shoulders on the mat for the three count. (½ *).
** Good Ol’ Boys versus Public Enemy**
The entrance music for Public Enemy (“Who you wit’” by Lil’ John & Eastside Boyz) blared over the sound system and the were met with jeers rather than the usual applause of the fans! Latasha became agitated and began to scream at the fans at ringside! When the team of Overtime and Vidtek climbed into the ring and began their pre-match routine inside of the squared circle-the soundtrack changed to that of their opponents!
Waylon Jennings classic hit “The Good Old Boys” aired over the speakers and Silas, Gordo, and Xenia (err, Bambi) came out to the walk way to a roaring response from the fans! This caused friction and the Public Enemy team ran up the ramp and attacked the rednecks.
After the ref gained control of the bout and convinced the wrestlers to battle it out in the ring, the experience difference was proving to be too much for Latasha’s team. After Silas used REDNECK ROMP on Overtime, Latasha lifted her shirt exposing her sports bra to the referee distracting him long enough for Vidtek to enter the squared circle for his finisher BIG TIME for the upset. Winner: Public Enemy (**).
**Intercontinental Championship Title match**
**Endgame (ch) versus Nosfera**
**Endgame (ch) versus Nosfera**
These two have had some knock down drag out fights that have become classics since the demon’s introduction into the GWF back in 2005! No matter which combatant has a title the other is close by challenging the champion for the gold, this time Nosfera is looking to become Intercontinental Champion.
The momentum of this contest shifted numerous times with several near pins and there was no doubt that Omen would get involved eventually. Just a predicted, Omen became involved after Endgame used an ULTIMA LEAP that would’ve been the end of his Omen’s charge! Omen waved his torch over the his head outside of the ring and distracted the referee. Meanwhile, Nosfera recovered and used THE DEMON’S BREATH on the Intercontinental champion! Nosfera, adding insult to injury, continued to blast the FDF member with the SPRINGHEEL KICK to become the new Intercontinental champion. Winner: Nosfera (***).
“The Rumble In The Rockies”
Thirty person Rigel Rumble
Thirty person Rigel Rumble
This special match starts with two randomly drawn wrestlers and they start the bout and a randomly chosen wrestler is introduced every two minutes. The only way to lose this match is to be thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the floor. The winner of this match faces off against the World heavyweight Champion on the final round of the Bunkhouse Brawl Tournament (card#536).
The first two wrestlers entered the ring were Panther Warrior and Phantasy! The Blonde Bombshell was disgusted that she had to be in the same ring as the Andromedan and as soon as Panther Warrior stepped toward her-Phantasy leapt over the top rope and eliminated herself!
Several minutes later Shann Ra was blasted with AMERICAN FIREPOWER by American Guy to be eliminated. Panther Warrior attempted to eliminate the second Outlaw Nation member in the rumble but would be eliminated himself after a back drop onto the concrete floor. The earthling would continue to be in the running until around the thirteen minute mark when Tauran would throw him out of the ring to be the fourth person out of the match.
The Greatest Show on Earth’s ring leader Vin Strutter announced the first member of the “new and improved’ GSOE….Umagapotamus! The Samoan hippo Savage was the ninth entrant to the rumble and he immediately put out Scion Nexus (the eighth entry), Plethador (the fifth entry), and Tauran (the fifth entry)!
The next exit would be around the twenty minute mark with Valour using a Valour Thrust to send Malkuth out onto the arena floor…the rivalry continued between the Gladiators and Eugenics as Paralyze (entry number eleven) used the move High Tension to send Zygon sprawling (the fifteenth entry)…the Outlaw Nation member used the Aethran’s girth against him as Valour scooped Paralyze out of the squared circle!
Umagapotamus continued his reign of terror as he used a Super Samoan Drop to bounce Gryt out of the match…the GSOE newest member moved toward Latasha (the fourteenth entry) but she panicked and unexpectedly ran into Valour’s waiting arms! Valour simply picked her up and gently set her on the outside ring apron! The Latino diva was leery and for good reasons because Valour used the WARRIOR’S RAGE to knock her down to the floor!
The Patriarch of the CTA-102 group (Tanck) entered the ring sixteenth and showed Thraxx (the fifteenth entry) was in fact moveable and used a Strongman Slam to eliminate the last member of the Master Race!
The AniMen of Andromeda was represented again with Swarm entering the squared circle as the eighteenth entry and put the much hated Valour out of the ring with a HORNET’S STING…mere moments later, the Surgeon (the seventeenth entry) was the recipient of a clothesline by none other than Umagapotamus!
The CTA-102 Strongman kept up the pace and used a Fall away Slam on Lorelei (the nineteenth entry) to send the FDF diva packing…the twentieth entry to the rumble used a MYTH BUSTER on Tanck as Retribution gained his namesake for Lorelei…
The next two entries were quickly dispatched as Tricks was eliminated by Swarm and The Betrayer was given a vertical splash by Retribution to put the Titan Death member out…speaking of splashes, Rotunda (the twenty third member) flattened Retribution chances with THE FAT LADY SINGS! However, the Big Boned Diva had no time to celebrate as Umagapotamus used the Samoan Super Fly to send her screaming in terror to the ring floor!
Swarm was knocked out by the shoot fighting Aethran and Rage used ALL THE RAGE on the AniMan to put his hopes to a crashing end…US Male, just like all the other Outlaw Nation members, picked their moments and landed a PATRIOT MISSLE on Rage (the twenty fifth entry)…
Anivar (the twenty eighth entry) established a little revenge on Outlaw nation as he used a flying dropkick to send the Patriarch of the Outlaw Nation (Sly Drury) out onto the floor (Sly Drury was the twenty sixth entry)…
The last diva to enter the ring was She-Devil (the twenty seventh entry) but the AniMen diva was bumped out by Kill Prey after a flying four arm…Payback used EXVENGE on US Male (the twenty fourth entry) to send the earthling out of the ring…Kill Prey (the twenty ninth entry) continued his quest by eliminating Anivar with a Venatic Knee Breaker but Payback (the final entry) would used a suicide moonsault to not only cause the Orion’s elimination but his own as Umagapotamus picked the Titan up and blasted the hardcore wrestler with a savatte kick that won Umagapotamus the Rumble and the title shot! Winner: Umagapotamus (****).
**World Tag Team Championship Title Match**
**Divided We Fall versus Troubleshooters (ch) **
**Divided We Fall versus Troubleshooters (ch) **
This match was hotly contested and the momentum swayed several times. The Bomb used Double Phantasy tag maneuver and the most decorated tag team in the history of Headbashers Incorporated promotions went for the TROUBLE TIMES TWO finisher to end the match! At the last moment, Bloodline rolled out of the way and himself climbed to the top of the turnbuckle to use his own finisher. After a spectacular COSMIC BIG BANG, Bloodline covered Muss for the three count for the Divided We Fall first ever World Tag Team championship titles! Winner: Divided We Fall (*).

**World Heavyweight Championship Title Match**
**Havoc (ch) versus Wolf**
**World Heavyweight Championship Title Match**
**Havoc (ch) versus Wolf**
This match was mostly one sided as the champion couldn’t stave off Wolf’s assault and within fifteen minutes would be a bloodied mess! The Savage One used a Howling moonsault and a SAVAGE FACE CLAW to win his first World title in the Global Wrestling Federation!
Most of the action came after the match as Umagapotamus stormed down to ringside and put the beat down on the new champion! Vin Strutter made his way back down to the squared circle and commanded the newest GSOE member to show the newly crowned champion what pain was! Umagapotamus forced Wolf to his feet and leveled the Andromedan with a SAMOAN HIPPO SPIKE that caused Wolf to cough up blood.
Vin Strutter looked at the camera as the Pay-Per-View began to go off the air and told everyone that this is only the beginning for the new Show.
