BATTLE FOR THE ESSENCE NIGHT 2 RAVAGER MOTHERSHIP 3-1-2119 Each of the teams spent a very wary night on the Ravager Mothership, with Ravager Troopers guarding all of the locker rooms in order to ensure that there was no more fighting. Reports say that there was quite a lot of commotion in the Crusade Locker Room throughout the night as Murdok could be heard shouting furiously for Aegis and cursing out General Rankor for not “following through” with something. Reports also indicate that Nicodemus was seen wandering the ship for most of the night, restless and apparently in deep thought.
When the time came to begin the last night of the Battle for the Essence, the security presence was obviously much heavier than the previous night, and the crowd full of Ravager’s seemed much more excited, almost as if they were watching sports entertainment, and not important combats that were to be studied intently. As Nicodemus made his way to the ring to begin the Semi-Final Round, the entire crowd gave a cheer for him and saluted their heroic commander. SEMI-FINALSNicodemus vs. GrovelGrovel showed that even the weakest Tribesman is no pushover by going toe-to-toe with Nicodemus and surviving a NUCLEAR WINTER. Nicodemus, showing some frustration, began to brawl with the creature and they went back and forth until a big Ravager Gutbuster did Grovel in. WINNER: NICODEMUSThe Ravager crowd went crazy for Nicodemus as his hand was raised in victory. Nicodemus let them have their fun for a few minutes, and the promptly got them back in rigid order again.General Rankor vs. NoxiousRankor overwhelmed Noxious with offense, and although Noxious kept coming back, the referee called for the bell when Noxious was trapped in the GUILTY OF TREASON and ripped half of his face off pulling his head out of the ropes! WINNER: GENERAL RANKORNeedless to say, the Ravagers were not pleased with Rankor’s success, but kept themselves stoically restrained.Scorch vs. GodsendScorch surprised Godsend early with powerful offense, but as Scorch tried to KO Godsend with THE TRAILBLAZER, Godsend suddenly caught his fist, and his usual smile replaced by a menacing scowl, planted Scorch with THE REALM ETERNAL for the win, as the ROC is eliminated from The Battle for the Essence! WINNER: GODSEND#1 CONTENDER TO THE aCe ESSENCE TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS ELIMINATION MATCH The SWAT Team vs. Darkness Falls vs. ResurrectionKrypt and Jakyll eliminate the SWAT Team right out of the gate with a Hit ‘em high and Hit ‘em low to Warfare as Cremator keeps Flatliner from making the save! Resurrection and Darkness Falls go at it like dogs for a long time, with a lot of action on the floor and a lot of double-teaming. Cremator starts to take control, so Krypt, in desperation, pokes Cremator’s eyes, but is shocked to see one eye just roll out of the zombie’s head and Cremator not care! Cremator takes full control after this, but Darkness Falls battle back! Corporal Tek proves to be the difference maker as he saves Cremator after a desperate RED DAWN, knocks Jakyll from the ring and helps Cremator to execute the ANITILIAN RUINS for the extremely hard fought win! WINNERS AND #1 CONTENDERS: RESURRECTIONTO DETERMINE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE 11-MAN BATTLE ROYAL Featuring: aCe Essence Tag Champions Heroes United and all the loser thus far from the Battle for the Essence Tournament!ELIMINATIONS-Lance At-Las keeps Murdok from Aegis, but gets promptly eliminated for his troubles -Ventross gets revenge for last night’s loss by full nelson slamming Grovel right over the rope -Nemean narrowly escapes a hellacious clothesline from Murdok, but Rouser gets blindsided and eliminated by it -Nemean turns to laugh at his “rival” Rouser, but Rouser jumps onto the apron and pulls him over and out by the hair! -Ventross suffers the same fate as Rouser when Scorch ducks a lariat from Paganax and the charged up Heathen Chief bowles Ventross over! The Ravagers have been completely eliminated! -Paganax continues to rampage and sends Shepard flying from the ring! -Aegis and Murdok finally collide! Aegis has Murdok reeling, but Trisis appears at ringside at beckons for Aegis! Aegis approaches the ropes and Murdok catches him from behind, powerbombing him from the ring to the concrete floor! A smiling Godsend then drags Trisis to the locker room. -The Titans collide as Murdok and Paganax go head to head! But, as they both teeter on the ropes, Scorch bodyslams Noxious into both of them, sending them both right over the top! -After a very long, very back and forth battle, both Scorch and Noxious end up on the apron. Noxious scratches Scorch’s eye, but as Scorch recovers, he slips some stones into his glove and comes back with THE TRAILBLAZER that sends Noxious flying from the ring for the win! WINNER: SCORCH (THE ROC NOW HAS STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE FOR THE NEXT BATTLE!)Nicodemus came down to the ring first and spoke over a microphone to the hushed Ravager crowd.Nicodemus: My brethren. I know that for the length of this Battle for the Essence, I have kept you quiet and reserved in stoic study because this is WAR not entertainment. But, in war, just as much as tactics and weapons and training are important, so is morale. In the heat of battle, a soldier needs to always know that he fights for the greater cause, and that his entire race supports him. This final match is not for entertainment. It is war. And as such, I need YOUR support to boost MY morale! So, if you are tired of being reserved, and if you support this cause and support the annihilation of the vermin I am about to confront, please give me your support, and give it as much as you possibly can! Let me hear you! For the Ravagers near, far, past, present, and future, LET ME HEAR YOU! It isn’t entertainment, but Nicodemus might have received the largest pop that there ever was for a wrestler! The Ravagers went NUTS as only true soldiers can and while Nicodemus felt their support, the rest of the Mothership, if not the dimension, heard it.THE BATTLE FOR THE ESSENCE ELIMINATION MATCH Nicodemus vs. General Rankor vs. GodsendNicodemus beat Godsend silly and went up top for the NUCLEAR WINTER, but Rankor came from nowhere and pushed him off! Nicodemus just couldn’t recover and Godsend soon put him away with the Demon Bomb, to the absolute disgust of the crowd! Rankor, who had been cleverly hiding, now came in and mixed it up with Godsend, both men utilizing the lack of disqualifications to their advantage as chairs, stairs and tables all came into play. The end came when Rankor and Godsend stood in the center of the ring, Rankor with a stun rod, and Godsend with a chair, and both pummeled each other repeatedly with their weapons! Rankor landed a solid blow from the stun rod right between Godsend’s eyes and seized the opportunity to execute the GUILTY OF TREASON! Godsend struggled with all the might he had left, but was unable to escape and passed out in the ropes, giving General Rankor the win! WINNER AND NEW ESSENCE BEARER: GENERAL RANKORIf not for the extreme self-control that all Ravager Troopers are trained for, General Rankor would be a dead man. Worse yet, the recently defeated and ashamed Nicodemus was the Ravager who had to give over the Essence. His ancient head bowed, and Rankor’s treacherous head held high, Nicodemus solemnly handed the title, pulsating with power and light double that of a single Essence Tag belt, over to the winner of The Battle for the Essence.
Rankor’s eyes were wide with awe and his heart was strangled by greed as he took the title from his foe and gently placed it around his waist. As the last button was snapped, the fate of Centra was sealed. Nicodemus was blown backwards by the gust that exploded from the championship, and as Rankor’s body seized up into painful spasms, the crowd on hand and all of the warriors in the aCe gasped as Rankor was literally lifted off of his feet!
A few feet above the canvas, Rankor floated in mid-air, propelled by the force of the Essence rushing into his body. Rankor managed to twist his face to look at Nicodemus and as his entire body began to glow and the whole arena began to tremble, a wicked smile cracked on his face. His usually golden yellow eyes turned to deep green, and along with his fingertips and mouth, began to exude ripples of the light, bolts of pure Essence striking out from him and detonating turnbuckle pads, ropes, and the security railing.
Slowly, the General drifted back to the canvas as the belt’s light began to fade. The arena stopped trembling, as Rankor’s feet finally touched the canvas, and his own glow hit its apex, almost eliminating view of his features completely. Rankor’s light faded as he steadied himself. After a long silence, the Essence Bearer spoke.[glow=green,2,300] Rankor:[/glow] (smirking at Nicodemus and Ventross) The “Treacherous Dog” has now become the “Almighty King”. I would appreciate it, if you treated me as such from now on. With that, Rankor exited the ring. In the middle of the entrance aisle, he came face to chest with Paganax. For a moment, neither backed down. Then slowly, Paganax stepped aside and followed the General from the arena. None of the press wanted to ask him questions, none of the crowd wanted to look at him, and none of the members of the aCe wanted to acknowledge him. They all wanted to forget what had just transpired.
Ravagers are not known for their softness or for their outpouring of emotions, but to this day, some reports claim that Nicodemus could be heard in his private chamber sobbing. They were not sobs of sorrow or hurt. They were sobs of regret, they were sobs of anger, and they were sobs of hatred.

ONLY THE BEGINNING With Aegis and Lance At-Las holding the Essence Tag Championships and the treacherous General Rankor proclaimed the Essence Bearer, it was time for the Four Leaders to decide how the aCe should be run from now on. Aegis and Nicodemus conviened once again with Murdok, who made sure to keep Trisis close to him for the entirety of the meeting, and Paganax who was joined by General Rankor.
It was decided that there would be one battle every cycle, and that beginning on the 4th battle, both Essence Championships would be defended at every battle. It was also decided that at each battle, there would be a match that would determine which faction got to make the decisions of venue and match-ups for the next battle. This was the Strategic Advantage. The faction currently holding Strategic Advantage was the ROC, so at the very next battle, they would have to put Strategic Advantage on the line against at least one other faction in a match where all participating factions had equal forces.
This would continue until the ROC lost the Advantage, at which point the faction that won the Advantage would have to defend it at every battle. With these small details accounted for, the aCe was ready to take off. Nicodemus decreed that these meetings would cease, unless specifically needed, and that all matters would from now on be settled in the ring. The Leaders agreed, and each went back to their respective troops and lairs.
The balances of power had been set. The ROC had strategic advantage and the powers of the Essence Tag Championships. The Tribesmen of Primus were led now by co-commanders Paganax the Heathen Chief and General Rankor, the One Essence Bearer. Nicodemus and the Ravagers, just as usual, were now charged with keeping the powers in check, and tasked with trying to capture the Essence for themselves while the uneasy alliance of Murdok and Godsend still mired in the darkness, plotting, scheming, and waiting to destroy any and all that they could.
The war had already become just as fierce inside the ring as on the battlefields, but the real war had not even started yet. For this was only the beginning.

THE SCENE: MURDOK'S THRONE ROOM, ANTILIA
Murdok sits upon his throne of rotting flesh, angry. In front of him kneel Corporal Tek and Cremator.
Tek: He is a worm, my lord. We did exactly as you asked, and he agreed to our plan to stop Godsend. However, as you can see-
Murdok: (slamming his fist) RARGH! That damnable wretch Rankor will pay for keeping me from the Essence. As will Aegis! That is why I have assembled you two here. I would like to commend you for a job well done in securing the #1 Contender spot, however, your work is far from finished.
Tek: We shall do whatever we need to to secure the Essence, lord.
Just then, Godsend strode into the throne room, covered from head to toe in fresh blood, and a demonic dagger in his hand. His eyes were just as red as the blood on his flesh, and his smile was more prominent than ever before.
Murdok: I thought I heard screams coming from your chambers, Godsend. Having fun in there?
Godsend: (looking at the blade in his hands) Very much so, my lord. I wanted to ask if I may borrow some of your devoted dead to look for more prey. These long periods between battles leave one prone to boredom.
Murdok: (showing a cordial smile) You may borrow how ever many you like.
Godsend: (bowing) Thank you, my lord.
Godsend slithered from the chamber once again, and Murdok's smile faded to a scowl as he looked toward Godsend had been and continued to talk with his troopers.
Murdok: I have much faith in your abilities, Resurrection. As such, I have a new mission for you. And you shall be joined by my queen. I believe she can help you greatly in your efforts.
Cremator: (in a slow, scratchy voice) You would not like us to capture the Essence?
Murdok: The Essence is very important to me, and it is important that you retrieve it. However, even more essential to me is the death of Aegis. And I entrust this deed to you two, my most trusted servants. I don't care what you need to do, and I don't care how long it takes you, I want you to end Aegis for me. And then bring his corpse back here, so that he may be my slave. You two are now my wrath incarnate, you are my fist that I shall send to strike down Aegis! Kill him, and bring him to me.
Resurrection: (together) yes, lord.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE SCENE: A SHODDILY CONSTRUCTED WRESTLING RING ON PRIMUS
General Rankor stand in the center of the ring with four Tribesmen surrounding him. His eyes pulse with the Essence hidden deep within him. At his command, the four Tribesmen all pounce, but with unreal agility, Rankor evades all of them!
He grabs one from behind and launches it into two of its brethren as the third charges at him! He side-steps this one and sends it flying into the ropes, caught in the GUILTY OF TREASON! It shrieks and howls in pain and two of its brothers leap at Rankor, only to both be caught with one arm and slammed to the canvas.
As the final creature attempts to stand, Rankor charges across the ring, and with all of the might of the Essence delivers a running boot to the beasts face that not only cracks it's skull but sends it flying from the ring! As the Tribesman caught in the rops stops moving, and loses consciousness, the two tribesmen who had been slammed down roll out of the ring, not wanting any more punishment. Rankor surveys the scene and then barks a command.
[glow=green,2,300]Rankor:[/glow] NEXT!
A bit of distance away, the Heathen Chief Paganax, flanked by Krypt and Jakyll, watches as four more Tribesmen climb into the ring with Rankor. With a combination of envy and indomitable confidence, Paganax speaks to his servants.
Paganax: I must have the Essence.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE SCENE: THE COMMAND CENTER OF THE BARRACKS, CENTRA PRIME
Aegis and Lance At-Las sit at the circular table while Scorch puffs on a cigar and stares out one of the large windows that overlook the base. Shepard paces the floor as Rouser sits in a chair with his knees pulled up, spinning around in it. Aegis seems to be reading over a list. It is the plans for the next battle.
Aegis: Let's see, so Shepard and Scorch you guys are good with the triple team elimination match?
Scorch: Aye. We ain't been doin' so hot. I figure if we win this match, we can jump right over TWO teams at once and get right back into this thing.
Shepard: Agreed.
Aegis: Good. Now, Rouser, you said you wanted who?
Rouser: (stops spinning) Nemean! That jerk got me eliminated from the Battle Royal for Strategic Advantage, and then LAUGHED about it!
Lance: Aegis, do you think we should make this the match for Strategic Advantage?
Aegis: I don't know. Do you think you can handle it, Rouser?
Rouser: (excited) Hell yeah! I can totally do it! Please give it to me! Please?
Scorch: (laughing) That's the spirit, kiddo! Aegis, give it to him! C'mon!
Aegis: Alright, alright. You've got it.
Lance: Aegis, where are we going to do his at? I hadn't even thought of a venue before now.
Aegis: Excellent point, Lance. The obvious choice would be the Centra Palladium, if Murdok's forces weren't still all over it.
Lance: Murdok should have abandoned it long ago. He violates the cease-fire every day his creatures remain there. Perhaps we should bring this to Nicodemus' attention?
Shepard: Perhaps, the Plague continues to spread down here on Centra Prime so quickly due to the close proximity of that moon to us.
Rouser: That makes sense! We definitely need to get them off of that moon!
Scorch: (looking out at the devastated moon in the sky) We should just blow em up! We go in and kill everything that moves! THAT would get em to withdraw.
Aegis: No, I will bring this to Nicodemus. In fact, I'll go contact him right now. But, for now, I guess, we should return to the Ravager Mothership for this battle?
Lance: Yeah. At least we can be pretty sure that we will be safe there.
Aegis: Right then. I'll go contact Nicodemus, and see if Murdok will withdraw from the Paladium.
Aegis gets up and leaves promptly. Everyone goes back to what they were doing, until Shepard speaks up.
Shepard: (looking at Lance and motiong toward the door) He keeps his mind off of things by overworking himself, does he not? I bet he is always either in the gym, or in here...working away.
Lance: (solemnly) Aye. To tell you the truth, it doesn't sound like too bad an idea.

Good stuff once again Hyde! Looks like your a.C.e. is trending like mine in 2119 so far: Murdok is threw with Godsend & Paganax hates Rankor. Keep it up my friend. I love your storyline & current direction! My picks for next time: Neman Ventross (easy win) Rankor (a good demonstration of Rankor's power now that he has the Essence) Specialists (SWAT Team is unbeatable for me, but the Specialists are the better team) Paganax (should be the match of the night) Resurrection (I think Trisis will play the role to give the Crusade the Essence)

Excellent write up Hyde, love the direction your aCe fed has taken. I had an aCe fed going for a while, maybe I'll dig it back up and use the desktop program to revitalize it until I can get the money to buy the game table and stat tracker again.

Thanks for the comments, guys! And don't count Grovel out quite yet, Eliath. I thought he would be an easy stepping-stone in The battle for the Essence, but man did he give Ventross a beating! And then it took an awful lot of punishment from Nicodemus to finish him off during Night 2. I'm about to start playing this card right now, so we'll see how things turn out!

a.C.e BATTLE 3 RAVAGER MOTHERSHIP 1-2-2119 Nicodemus was wary at first, but he eventually let the small amount of Centran spectators who had traveled to the ship on board. In addition, General Rankor brought scores of Tribesmen to the Mothership, and demanded that they be let on board! Nicodemus once again warily obliged him, and last-minute alterations to the arena seating had to be made. The crowd was still about 70% Ravagers with 20% media and the final 10% being more Tribesmen than Centrans.
Nicodemus introduced his “Morale Initiative” to his brethren, stating that each Ravager not fighting should do their part for those who do fight by giving as much support as possible. The Tribesmen were already naturally rowdy, and the small amount of Centrans had no qualms about cheering their heroes. Needless to say, the environment was much different than usual. Of course, the Ravager Trooper presence was very heavy, and just like last time, each faction was designated to their own locker room area and each factions’ fans were designated to their own seating area.
It was slowly becoming clear that while the battles of the aCe were extremely dangerous to be near, and that there was absolutely no guarantee of safety for spectators, the denizens of Centra were all far too brave to be deterred from cheering for their heroic soldiers in this time of darkest war.TO DETERMINE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE Rouser vs. NemeanNemean took full advantage of the “Morale Initiative” by taunting and flaunting his way to an easy victory over Rouser. WINNER: NEMEAN (THE RAVAGERS NOW HAVE STRATEGIC CONTROL)Ventross vs. GrovelGrovel managed to survive a SEVERED TIES, but Ventross was on a mission tonight and beat Grovel to the point where the beast tried to run to his brethren in the stands for help! But, Ventross dragged him back and ended the match with another SEVERED TIES as the night starts of great for The Ravagers! WINNER: VENTROSSThe Tribesmen of Primus went berserk when their co-commander General Rankor appeared! Even though the Ravager crowd booed, cursed, and hissed (literally) with all of their might, the small amount of Tribesmen almost equaled them in noise output.NON-TITLE General Rankor © vs. Noxious Rankor looked bigger, stronger, faster, and better than he ever has before, even seeing fit to attempt to end the match with a dazzling cross-body block from the top rope! Noxious kicked out of the pin, but got caught in the GUILTY OF TREASON for his troubles. WINNER: GENERAL RANKOR ©After the referee eventually got Noxious untangled from the ropes, Rankor dragged him to the center of the ring, stretched his fingers out across the mat, and then stomped on them, shattering them! For the first time in the aCe, a zombie was heard howling in pain as Rankor proceeded to do the same thing to Noxious’ other hand, shattering all the fingers with a look of unstoppable delight!
At first, the crowd didn’t care much. But when the creature’s cries became a bit too human, even the Ravagers began to become uneasy. The Tribesmen thought it was wonderful, especially when Rankor tore Noxious’ rotting arm in half! Suddenly, a soldier from the back ran towards the ring! It wasn’t a member of the Crusade, but it was Lance At-Las!
Rankor jumped from the ring and grabbed his title when he saw Lance coming. As Rankor left, Lance implored the Ravager medics to help Noxious, and even tried to help the living corpse to its feet! Lance received a prompt snarl and a narrowly avoided slash for his efforts, as Noxious pulled itself from the ring and was quickly greeted by Cremator and Corporal Tek. Resurrection helped their fellow slave to the back while staring down Lance the whole time. The SWAT Team vs. Darkness Falls vs. The SpecialistsScorch leveled Krypt early on with THE TRAILBLAZER to eliminate Darkness Falls. He and Shepard then put a good hurt on Flatliner, but Flatliner turned it around and after being fried by SHOCK AND AWE, Scorch succumbed to THE BIG PAYBACK. The Ravagers are having a stellar night! The Morale Initiative must be working! WINNERS: THE SWAT TEAMThe Tribesmen in attendance erupted into frantic, guttural chanting as their chief, Paganax arrived! By the time Paganax had reached the ring, the Tribesmen had whipped themselves into a frenzy, and several of them were taken from the ship by Ravager Troopers.Murdok w/ Trisis vs. PaganaxMurdok and Paganax went blow for blow for a few minutes, but Aegis ran to ringside and attempted to abscond with Trisis again! While Aegis struggled with Trisis, Murdok got distracted and Paganax proceeded to throw everything in his arsenal at the Plague Harvester to keep down for the win! WINNER: PAGANAXAegis continued to struggle with Trisis, but in a sudden burst of flame, Godsend showed up! Lance At-Las, who had now run to the ring, tried to attack Godsend, but Godsend was too fast and snatched Trisis away, taking her away in another burst of flame.#1 CONTENDER’S MATCH NO DQ Nicodemus vs. GodsendNicodemus is in control for a few minutes, but Godsend recovers and puts a beating on the ancient. Nicodemus doesn’t go down easily, constantly trying to fight his way back, but Godsend uses weapons to his advantage and eventually puts Nicodemus down with THE REALM ETERNAL. The Ravagers choke in their most important match of the night! WINNER AND NEW #1 CONTENDER: GODSENDESSENCE TAG CHAMPIONSHIP Heroes United(c)vs. Resurrection w/ TrisisAegis opens up like a wild man, battering Cremator. Cremator throws Aegis to the outside where Trisis takes a bite of his arm! Aegis fights her off, and manages to tag Lance, but Lance gets pummeled by Tek and Cremator. Tek hits CORPORAL PUNISHMENT on a beaten Lance, while Trisis lures Aegis from the ring, imploring him to help her! Aegis misses his cue, and Lance gets pinned! WINNERS AND NEW ESSENCE TAG CHAMPIONS: RESURRECTIONAegis is brought to his knees as the Essence suddenly withdraws from him and he turns back to the ring to see Corporal Tek and Cremator suddenly glowing brilliantly as it enters their rotting bodies. Aegis realizes what has happened, and starts to work his way back to the ring when Murdok comes from behind him and slams him to the ground! Murdok takes Aegis to the ring where Tek and Cremator both grab chairs. Godsend shows up with some sort of dagger and before anyone can react, Aegis and Lance are being beaten with chairs! Murdok orders Tek and Cremator to lift Aegis up, and then orders Godsend.Murdok: KILL HIM, GODSEND! KILL THEM BOTH! Godsend draws back his blade to strike when the rest of the ROC appear along with Nicodemus and the Ravagers! Nicodemus: (radiating nuclear energy) STOP RIGHT THERE, SERPENT! There shall be no murders upon MY ship! I swear to you, Murdok, if your snake uses that dagger, Antilia will be destroyed before you can get back to it! Murdok’s eyes have only ever shown hatred, and they did so here, too. Murdok begrudgingly ordered Godsend to back off as Nicodemus motioned for his Ravager Troopers to rescue the now bloody Aegis and Lance At-Las. Meanwhile, Nicodemus continues to speak.Nicodemus: I will not tolerate these underhanded attacks any longer on my ship! First it was Rankor, now it is you four! Thanks to the young Nemean, The Ravagers now have Strategic Advantage for the next battle. As such, you shall all be punished! Tek and Cremator, you will defend that Essence against my personal SWAT Team in a Titan Death Match! (Flatliner and Warfare high five) and even serpents must have nightmares, so Godsend, you will fight Rankor for the Essence inside a Ravager creation, The Nightmare Matrix! Now, get OFF of my ship! The Ravager crowd goes crazy as Murdok drags his forces from the ring and back to their locker room. Aegis and Lance At-Las have seen better days, but the Ravager Ancient has saved their lives on this night.

Wow, the actions of Rankor were intense. He makes a great evil champion. Thanks, man. I sort of see his personality as someone who views all other creatures as toys and tools. They aren't even living things to him. So, feeling so powerful, him doing things like that to a zombie would be like a kid frying ants with a magnifying glass. Absolutely no consideration for what might still be human or once was human.
