This poll is based on the current one at ESPN.
You can select up to 5 options.

Only was allowed to vote once in this poll? My bad. Which 5 would you have voted for?

Michael Jordan, Walter Payton, George Halas, Gale Sayers and Ernie Banks.
Hard to narrow it down to 5 cause there are many worthy names in there.

WRONG! well, it is only the top 5 for the first class and then they are apparently going to do another vote later I just brought the polls over here because I thought it would be good discussion.

Oh quite. The discussion is a very good one.
I think Jordan and Sweetness were the two easiest. MJ redefined the NBA and took not just the Bulls but the entire sport to a new level. Walter Payton is now the second leading rusher in the history of the NFL but for a good 15-20 year stretch, he was the leading rusher of all time.
The other three could be interchangeable but I would be hard-pressed not to but Papa Bear in the first 5. I mean, he's Papa Bear. Without him, we don't ever have ... Da Bears!

Payton, Jordan and Papa are the easiest. But then...holy crap. Just throw darts at that point!! Although, I must say that Pippen is the easiest for me to leave off.

Banks, Ditka, Jordan, Payton, and Hull. Walter Payton is now the second leading rusher in the history of the NFL but for a good 15-20 year stretch, he was the leading rusher of all time. As far as I'm concerned the leading rushers of all-time are still Payton and Sanders. To me Smith is overrated and the beneficiary of circumstances that could have led to about 8-10 other players from that era having similar statistics. ---BUT, that's getting sidetracked and is probably a discussion for a different thread. Suffice to say, I pick Walter Payton for the Chicago HOF.

Caray, Banks, Jordan, Payton & either Ditka or Pippen for the fifth spot.
