Jackie Robinson was on the poll. But although he was from LA, he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers instead of the LA Dodgers. I also associate Gretzky much more with Edmonton than with LA despite the statue of him that is near to Magic's statue outside of Staples Center. So instead, I voted for: Kareem (NBA's all time leading scorer who was also from UCLA) Magic (Showtime!) Jerry West (the Logo) Wooden (UCLA, arguably the greatest college basketball coach of all time, RIP) Fernando Valenzuela ( Fernandomania! Plus his son played first base at UNLV.
