Who do you think is the greatest ROH World Champion of all time? Samoa Joe had the longest reign Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness had more title defenses (each had 38 defenses compared to Samoa Joe's 29 defenses according to Wikipedia.) Austin Aries is the only 2 time ROH World Champion CM Punk arguably should not even be on the list, but he had a memorable (although brief) reign with the title and is the hottest name in wrestling today (so I put him on the list )

Samoa Joe - His title reign really brought some attention to the company. In fact, it was because of the quality of Joe's reign that I would argue the company was able to survive the fallout from the Feinstein scandal. Watch the emotion of the "At Our Best" defense with Joe and Jay Briscoe, with Briscoe bleeding so much that the blood is clotting as if falls from his head. This was right after the news of Feinstein broke, and many canceled their booking with ROH because of it. Joe and Jay went out there and demonstrated that ROH was going to move on from Feinstein, and be okay in the long run.
That was before his legendary series with Punk, which brought the attention of people like Dave Meltzer. When Meltzer gave the Joe-Punk II match five stars, it attracted many new customers to the promotion, helping it afford more talent and extending its survival for years. And when Joe got to TNA he was super-over, and it was not because of Russo's booking - he basically portrayed the same character he was in ROH.
When he finally lost the title, and Aries was in tears as Joe strapped it to his waist, you could feel how monumental the moment was. That was, to me, because of the legacy Joe had crafted with that belt. The belt that CM Punk proclaimed was the most important belt in North America when he couldn't beat Joe for it.
As awesome as Dragon and Nigel's reigns were, and as fun as both of Aries' runs were, the ROH title, to me, is what it is because of Samoa Joe.

Hands down, Bryan Danielson.
I totally agree with Hegemoney about Joe-Punk bringing national attention to ROH when Meltzer started giving that feud attention. But BD is just so much better in every area than Joe I can't not vote for him. Not to turn this into another Joe thing, but I firmly stand by the notion that Joe has never been much more than a big, stiff wrestler. Any number of guys could have been put in that same position, stiffed the crap out of guys and left the same legacy. Once Joe was asked to be more than a stiff worker, he fizzled out (being booked by TNA doesn't help). On the flip side, Danielson is a true wrestling pro with Main Event caliber qualities. So imo, it's BD by a country mile.

Many, many wrestlers have publicly and privately stated how easy and light Joe is, including AJ Styles, CM Punk, and Chris Daniels. Isn't that the goal, to make it look real? And as Mick Foley famously stated, you can hit some one hard if you hit them in safe place, something Joe is renowned for. It's sad that his motivation appears to have been sapped in TNA, in addition to his mounting injuries which have resulted in him gaining more weight. Edit - And for the record it grieves me personally to not vote for Dragon in any poll about the best anything. Danielson is a better wrestler IMO, but for what ROH needed at that point in its history I went with Joe.

DB for sure is One of the Best Wrestlers today and I agree if the Booking of Joe after his Winning Streak ended wasn't so piss poor Joe could still be a Top Talent and I read that Steve Austin thinks the WWE should sign Joe next time his TNA contract is up...

That is the first time I've heard that about Joe. Everywhere I look he makes people's all time stiffest wrestlers ever lists. Which isn't to say that is a bad thing. Dynamite Kid and Vader are on those lists. But they were more much than just stiff wrestlers. Maybe the WWE would be able to do something with Joe no one else has yet to figure out. Wouldn't shock me. I def don't expect him to stay in TNA much when his contract is up. ROH for sure if not WWE.
