You mean the same Sting who turned down a match against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania ? Why would Sting want to go to Mania just to job and be another notch in Taker's belt? Wins and losses in wrestling are fake. A loss to the Undertaker at Mania does nothing to hurt Sting as long as it's a great match. And Sting has tons of losses in TNA. He's lost to Ken Kennedy. That's enough to humiliate anyone. Giant payday, wrestle in front of thousands, biggest show of the year, wrestle an icon, dream match, go out on top, go in the hall of fame, get a ton of exposure, set yourself up for life, give back to your devoted fans in every way possible etc...etc... that's why. That's why any veteran athlete does anything big at the end of his career. Look at Favre. All the same reasons. Whether it works or not is another story. Favre at least tried. Sting didn't even try. That's the difference imo.

Honestly it's old news that Sting didn't wrestle Undertaker, the WWE has moved on with it's product by utilizing it's younger talent mixed with some vets, while TNA continues to live in the past for the most part...

I don't think Sting is Randy The Ram. I think he's taking the easy payday at tna. I watched the segment last night because.. well Burn Notice was on a commercial. Flair remains ...out of his mind to think he matters at this point. No, you aren't 'God', even in your prime, and that was over 20 years ago. Bottom line: who cares about this match? nobody.

Burn Notice is like 1000% more entertaining than TNA.
I'd really much rather watch stuff like RoH or NWA:Hollywood online than TNA these days, they really just need to get rid of Sting, Hogan, Flair and Bischoff and move on.
I was looking at the ratings at Gerwreck the other day... assuming they're accurate, TNA has been at the same 1.1-1.3 range for the last three years or so, so they're not getting new people.
Focusing on new, exciting wrestlers and angles would be a gamble, but give them a shot at least.

Flair says if he wins, Sting has to retire. Flair tells him to think about it, because he means a real retirement, and he has to go home, Let's not even get into the absurdity of Ric Flair saying anything about a "real retirement"

You guys are all overreacting. TNA is going to change the world next week on Impact...and the following week...and the following week...and...oh you're not buying it anymore? Neither am I.
Worst fed ever.

I think Flair needs to answer his own challenge. If he loses, he should retire, for good. Go home, and never come back. I just rolled my eyes when he did his promo. He's turned into a total idiot with all his theatrics. Definitely wearing out his welcome.
worst segment ever! At least the X division gauntlet was entertaining, even though we pretty much knew Austin Aries was going to be the #1 Contender. Seen that a mile away. Great looking new talent, now if they can just keep them around and promote them more rather than Flair, Hogan and Sting, TNA could be a better promotion.

My brother hasn't watched wrestling in 20 years. He mentioned he saw something on his tv menu about Sting vs. Flair. "those guys are still wrestling?"
"Not in the WWE. It's a fed called TNA."
