CHIKARA uses Comic Book covers in the past directly inspired by real Comic Books for their DVD covers and the Cover for the set is Directly based on Marvels RPG, which is Very Cool stuff...

Yes, it's what is referred to as a "homage cover" where an artist does his take on an iconic cover theme. That's why Werner credited the original artist with the notation "after Butler" under his signature on the piece (which is the industry standard courtesy). Like CC stated above, CHIKARA does it with their DVD covers and it was only natural that they'd do the same with the game.

The cover of the handbook had to be a hopmage to something. Quack suggested the Marvel RPG and it was a perfect fit. The next question is...what will be the cover of the next Chikara handbook be a homage to?
