What did you guys think of Night of Champions?
I went and saw Night of Champions at the WWE blast zone at Sam's Town yesterday.
Although I did not like the DQ ending (even though it does make sense,) I liked the opening tag match alot and it played out liked I predicted with Miz and R-Truth losing by a "conspiracy."
But although I called the tag match correctly, I did not do too well with my picks overall as I was surprised to see both the WWE Championship and the World Championship change hands once again (although the Punk' reign and one of Cena's now 3 post Wrestlemania reigns coincided, that makes 6 WWE Championship reigns in the 6 months since Wrestlemania 27 and 5 World Championship changes in the past 6 months since Wrestlemania 27.)
And the title that I really thought would change hands did not when Kelly Kelly retained over Beth Phoenix. Wasn't that the same way their match also ended at Summerslam?
The Punk-HHH match was insane and I loved it when HHH knocked out Kevin Nash with the sledgehammer. But I am now waiting for the fallout/explanation of what was happening tonight on RAW.

I didn't see it but I'm glad Mark Henry won the World Title and I hope the WWE gives him more then a 2 day reign and not pull a Christian. Now I had a few friends who attended NoC's and the one I talked to said CM Punk vs. HHH was a perfect TNA Interference Cluster and I've seen those same thoughts on another board or two. Cena winning is nothing new and at this point we know he's going to win being the Main WWE Face. I read many say the crowd was dead, but my friend said the crowd was lively and that it must have not carried over onto TV...

The only thing I can say about the titles changing hands so much is MAYBE the E wants to showcase that the level of the talent at the top is so fierce that no one is safe having any kind of a "champions advantage" and that on any given Sunday, you can lose?! Probably a stretch, but I know what you mean. Cena winning it, then losing it, winning it again just turns me off. Wish I could have seen Punk-Triple H match, but I guess I'll have to wait. And why am I not surprised that Nash interfered in the match?

For the broadcast, the biggest pop of the night BY FAR was for Beth Phoenix. That she lost is a real shame... apparently trying to position Kelly as the next Trish Stratus is the most important thing in the Diva division right now.
The Punk-HHH match was indeed very TNA-like... It definitely could have done without the Awesome Truth run-in.. a regular ref bump could have served the same purpose.
PErhaps they'll totally reverse course tonight, but it looks like they're heading for Nash/Laurenitis Vs. HHH for control of the company. Different players, same story.
Hopefully Punk gets to say in the main event... I'm not totally sure he will.

So Cena wins the belt, I'm really tired of seeing this. He's got the popularity enough as is, does he really need a belt?...this must mean that WWE's tour of Mexico is over since Del Rio wasn't given a longer run.

Seemed terrible. Even though I did better than usual in my picks, I am in agreement that the instability of the titles isridiculous. Triple H vs Ace/Nash..umm yay? No, not really. Been there, done this several times before. The writers are in such a rut lately.

...this must mean that WWE's tour of Mexico is over since Del Rio wasn't given a longer run. And had I known this I would have picked Cena to win in the Pickem's contest. Really surprised they pulled the trigger on Henry winning the title though. I voted for Orton because that belt has been traded quite a few times already between Orton and Christian. I like Henry as champ, just surprised is all.

Number one, the whole Mexican Tour/ADR champ story is total bullshit made up by the IWC. Like the crowds are going to be bigger whether or not he has the belt. C'mon. By that theory the WWE Title would change hands every time the WWE travels outside of the US and Steven Regal would be a multiple time champion right now. ADR got the belt for the same exact reason that Sheamus, Miz, and Punk got it - so they could lose it to Cena. Same reason Nexus was formed. Build em up so Cena can knock them down. That's it.
The Main Event was TNA like. I HATE the Miz/Truth shit. It's garbage. It's proof the WWE spins their wheels to often than not when all they ever do is break up tag teams LOOKING for guys like Miz, only to build him up as a huge singles star then put him back into a tag team. You trying to tell me some random dude from FCW can't play R-Truth's singing sidekick? Give me a break. The old Miz character never would have gone along with this crap. Hate it.
Nice to see Alex Riley doing his best "idiotic face" impression of CM Punk and Randy Orton, blowing off his chance to finish the match so he could instead yell at Vicki outside the ring. How totally retarded. EVERY GUY CAN'T BE THE SAME. But yet they are.
Mark Henry winning clean. Finally something good to talk about. Great move. I have a feeling he may hold the belt all the way until Mania then fight Daniel Bryan. Could be a classic with frightening contradicting styles. Power vs. submission specialist.
Beth Phoeinx got biggest pop cuz it was her hometown. I actually think they've done a very poor job building her up as a challenger. Don't see KK losing the title for awhile.
Main Event was probably the best match but had WAY too much interference. I'm sure Miz and Truth getting involved goes as far as them teaming with Nash at SS vs. HHH and Punk on same team. I really hate seeing HHH win, even though I knew he would. Only HHH has an big enough ego to book himself in a Main Event of a card called "Night of Champions" and no title is on the line. lol

I got a MASSIVE two points in the Pickem's, should start sticking with the WWE formula of constant title changes...lol.
Seriously though I hope this doesn't mean Cena v Rock will be for the belt at Mania, that match doesn't need a belt to help hype it, and if it does I REALLY hope Cena doesn't hold the belt from now til Mania.

I could see Cena losing the belt again and then win it back and I would be surprised the WWE did not have Cena vs. Rock for the WWE Belt @ WM. I agree that there is no reason for those two fighting over the belt, but Cena stating at the beginning of the Rock/Cena WM build he'll have the belt leads to them doing just that. I agree that ADR losing is to keep Cena at the Top and I wouldn't be surprised Orton regains the World Title at one point...
