I'm a big Lovecraft fan and having read all of his stuff have finally begun reading post-Lovecraft mythos stories. I recently finished a W.H. Pugmire's short story coollectiin "The Strange Dark One" and am re-reading the beautiful Penguin Galaxy hardcover edition "Neuromancer".

I also liked Lovecraft Country quite a bit. Laird Barron's short story collections are all cosmic horror but not necessarily Lovecraftian.

I also liked Lovecraft Country quite a bit. Laird Barron's short story collections are all cosmic horror but not necessarily Lovecraftian. I've read most of Robert E. Howard's Cthulhu Mythos short stories as well as some of the other short stories from writers from that period like Frank Belknap Long, Lin Carter, Robert Bloch and Robert M Price. I'm now checking out more modern mythos writers. I own both Ramsey Campbell short story collections "The Inhabitant of the Lake & Other Unwelcome Tenants" and "Visions from Brichester" and plan on digging into them soon enough. There is a lot of stuff out there these days. I consider cosmic horror a close relative of Cthulhu Mythos / Lovecraftian fiction. Its all fair game as far as I'm concerned.

About halfway though "House to House: A Soldier's Memoir" by Buffalo's own Staff Sergeant David Bellavia. He was awarded the Medal of Honor (U.S. military's highest honor) for his actions with the Army infantry during the Second Battle of Fallujah during the Iraq War. Intense book, great read.

I can't suggest the many books in the series I do not have, but the series "The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is a great line of books. I have 15 of the books and have read The War of the Worlds, The Scroll of the Dead, The Ectoplasmic Man, The Titanic Tragedy & The Ripper Legacy. War of the Worlds puts Holmes in the H.G.Wells world and it is really cool, while Harry Houdini is in the Ectoplasmic Man book. I am currently reading The Man from Hell book, in the end I suggest checking out this series, fun stuff...
