I'll tell you what: they give me Tara and Brooke "by God" Tessmacher (Adams) live and on the big screen and I say "money well spent".

I went to the theater at Town Square on Las Vegas Boulevard tonight to see this show. I last watched a TNA PPV (which was also the only TNA PPV I have ever ordered) almost 2 years ago when I saw Genesis 2010. Bound for Glory tonight was alot better than Genesis 2010 IMO. There was a sign outside the theater door that said it had a seating capacity of 260. When I got there, I counted 19 other people. Later a few more showed up, so the theater was only about 10% full. Mexican America defeated Ink Inc to retain TNA's tag team championship. Christina Von Eerie accompanied Ink Inc to the ring and they said her TNA name is Toxine. I really liked Rosita and Sarita for Mexican America. Austin Aries defeated Brian Kendrick to retain the X division title. The crowd in Philadelphia loved Austin Aries and kept chanting his name throughout the match. RVD defeated Jerry Lynn in a Full Metal Mayhem match. RVD and Lynn once again out on a good match against each other, but definitely not as good as some of their ECW matches. Crimson defeated Samoa Joe and Matt Morgan. Mr. Anderson defeated Bully Ray in a falls count anywhere match. Anderson missed the planned finish and you could see him and Bully Ray discuss a backup finish which turned out to be Mr. Anderson giving Bully Ray a MIC CHECK through a table on the floor outside of the ring. Velvet Sky won the Knockouts Title by defeating Winter, Mickie James, and Madison Rayne with Karen Jarrett serving as the special referee. The match ended when Winter blinded Angle by spitting blood into her eyes and Traci Brooks ran into the ring to make the pinfall for Sky over Rayne. A.J. Styles defeated Christopher Daniels in an I Quit match. I didn't like this match too much and I went to the bathroom. It started off really stupid with Daniels hitting Styles a few times and then asking him if he wanted to quit. When I returned from the bathroom, Daniels was on the microphone telling Styles's wife to take their kids out of the room so they would not have to witness their father being murdered. The ending involved Daniels saying I Quit when Styles grabbed a screwdriver but hadn't used it against him yet- sort of like how JBL said I Quit against John Cena back at Judgment Day 2005 after Cena grabbed a sledge hammer. Sting defeated Hulk Hogan to give Dixie Carter control of TNA once again. Earlier in the show, Eric Bischoff revealed that Jackson James, the referee for this match, was his son. After the match ended, Immortal attacked Sting and Hogan then turned on Immortal to make the save for Sting. Kurt Angle retained the TNA title over Bobby Roode. No surprise at all since Hogan a few days earlier publicly buried Roode saying he's "not the next guy." Overall, I would probably give this show a C. I don't think I wasted my $15, but this also did not seem like a fed's biggest show of the year either IMO.

I'd drop the rating a bit, if only because putting Kurt Angle over in the main event after being charged with a DUI once again strikes me as a fairly stupid move.

Here's a recap of my theater experience, along with some thoughts on the show.
First, I got there at 6:30 for the pre-show and proceeded to watch 20 minutes of movie trailers and commercials. Then at 6:50 they started playing "Moneyball". Turns out the theater screwed up and didn't turn on the feed in the right place and everyone who bought a ticket walked one screen over to watch the last few minutes of the pre-show before the event. Not a good start, not TNA's fault.
Attendance- 13, including myself.
Experience- The show looked incredible and sounds great. For a person like me who likes to just sit and watch wrestling without distractions this would be an awesome way to view a PPV on a regular basis, but I'm pretty sure the attendance figures are going to make sure this doesn't happen again.
The show- Austin Aries was over HUGE. The crowd went nuts for him and Kendrick and he put on an opener that was hard to follow. BUT, RVD and Lynn did just that. It was somewhat awkward in a few spots, but it's amazing what those guys can still do and the punishment they put themselves through. Crowd was hot all night; they actually acted like they wanted to be there, were loud, and the show looked 100 times better than that Florida studio show they put on weekly. They NEED to get on the road and tape in front of crowds like this. The crowd loved all of the old ROH and ECW guys, except Bully Ray. Bully Ray did a tremendous job of doing a promo before his match that turned the Philly fans on him hard. It was masterful in its simplicity and shows that the "old rasllin stuff" was never broke and didn't need Hollyweird script writers to try to come in and "fix it". I've never liked Bully Ray, but he has found this next gear in his career and really stepped up to a high profile singles role I never thought he could pull off. Still don't like him, though.
-There's nothing quite like watching Velvet Sky's trademark entrance on a high-def digital movie theater screen. Wow. Seriously great.
-Hogan and Sting. MAN, I wanted to hate this. BUT they did exactly what they needed to do to protect both men and have a good looking fight. Despite Hogan's words from earlier this week when he said he'd take no bumps, he took THREE. It was actually a good looking fight (not match, as they billed it), with Flair in the corner and adding pretty much nothing. When Hogan "Hulked Up" during the beatdown at the end the crowd in Philly came completely unglued. I know it's Hogan in 2011, but there's still some part of Hogan 1987 in him and he channeled it. It really is like seeing two different people when he finds that spark again. If Hogan could just go away and come back sparingly for those nostalgia moments he'd be so much more effective. Sadly, his ego (and probably his bank account) will not allow that to happen.
Overall, I liked it. I was horribly disappointed in the end of the show, though. I think they missed the boat with Roode not winning and it ended the show on a real down note. It was the wrong decision to make. TNA has such a talented group of wrestlers that it's a shame they can't get there stuff together behind the scenes. Just going by the talent they have in place this company SHOULD be a close number two behind a WWE that is just coasting (if not back sliding). Mr. Vegas may be jaded by seeing all of those great PWG shows live. He gave the show a "C", I'd say "B to B-".
Again, I liked it, I'd pay to see another one this way, but I doubt that's happening. It was fun for a night, though.

Mr. Vegas may be jaded by seeing all of those great PWG shows live. He gave the show a "C", I'd say "B to B-" I do get to see alot of great PWG shows live, but I honestly consider my grade of yesterday's TNA PPV consistent with how I grade PPVs. My personal criteria for grading PPVs: F= awful, a complete waste of time and money (there are not many wrestling PPVs I would give an F to) D= not worth the money to order, but not a complete waste of time C= worth paying to see B= worth buying to own, even if you have already seen it A= not just worth buying to own, but recommended to buy to own A+= a classic, wrestling DVD collections are incomplete without it Based on that scale, I assign Bound for Glory 2011 a grade of C. As I said, I thought it was worth paying the $15 to see in the theater, but I definitely don't think I need to buy it to watch it again. I give the main event of a PPV a little more weight than a normal match on a PPV and I thought yesterday's rushed main event (was it even 15 minutes long?) with its bad ending on TNA's biggest show of the year was a D. Some things I liked such as the excellent match between Austin Aries and Brian Kendrick followed by another really good match once again between RVD and Jerry Lynn. But I didn't like the I Quit match between Styles and Daniels or (other than Velvet Sky's entrance through the ropes) the Knockouts match with Karen Jarrett as the referee. The triple threat match was OK but nothing special. So I thought the show going into the main event was a low B and then the bad main event itself dropped the show to a C overall for me. Edit: Mark T, although you said I might be "jaded," I don't think we are that far off in our overall assessments. If you are giving the show a low B (low 80s percentile) and I am giving it a solid C (mid 70s percentile) then we are really only talking a difference of 5-6% or so.

Hey, 5-6 percent matters, Vegas the jaded! No, it's really all a matter of preference in the end. I'll personally probably buy the DVD when it comes out just for the Aries/Kendrick and Lynn/RVD matches. To me those are worth watching again. As far as Styles and Daniels, I like to see someone take a chance and do something different so I appreciated Daniels performance. I could see where he was going with it, but he may have gone just a bit far and I knew it was a risk most fans would not appreciate when they're so used to the "workrate" match from those two.

I'm more inclined to name call Mr. Vegas generous rather than jaded for his C grade for this show. I watched this thing on freedotv.com and the best grade I can honestly give it is a C, and that's strictly for one match - Hogan vs. Sting. It was a bad match but it delivered the only thing Hogan still can in 2011, and that's the momentary nostalgic pop. Any Hogan mark got exactly what they wanted. In other words, TNA came through with this match. It doesn't change anything or get anyone new over but it did deliver from the standpoint of seeing Hogan in the ring one more time. The ending was dumb. They gave us the Return of the Jedi ending if anyone didn't notice. Hogan was Darth vader, Sting was Luke Skywalker and Immortal was The Emperor. "Help me! Help me!" Luke Sting screamed as the Emperor Immortal destroyed him. Unable to take no more, Darth Vader Hogan snaps, and saves Luke Sting from the Emperor Immortal by turning face. But whatever.
The rest of the show was same old same old for TNA, nothing different from what you find for free on Thursdays. Main Event was barely even a match with the most vapid ending you'll ever see.
C is being generous, but I'll give it that because they delivered with the Hogan-Sting match, which could have been a train wreck and wasn't.
