She's done Playboy several times in the past. So I see her doing a few more pictorials before getting asked to come to TNA

Why is it every time a WWE nobody gets let go or leaves they drop word FREE? Both Hardy's have done it. Angle did it. That tail-coat rider jobber nobody Chavo said he was "FREE at last!" and now Maryse says she's "FREE." Last time I checked the WWE didn't hunt these people down, capture them, stick them in the WWE and force money into their checking accounts every 2 weeks. IMO that's a pretty ignorant thing to say.

It is rather strange. Maryse is beautiful but really, she's no big loss.

In my opinion, "FREE" probably sounds better than "FIRED" or "DUMPED ON MY ASS".

I don't know that I'd put Angle in as a "nobody", but your point is well taken. In my opinion, "FREE" probably sounds better than "FIRED" or "DUMPED ON MY ASS". That would be valid if several of these people weren't the ones asking to be released (as was the case here). I think it's more indicative of horribly low morale in the company. They call the wrestlers/performers/entertainers "independent contractors" so they don't have to give them benefits or health insurance and proceed to manage every aspect of their lives while they're employed by the company including conduct away from the company, the way they dress in public, and what outside gigs they take while under WWE employ. I can see how it would feel like being "freed" to get out from under the thumb of the very one-sided deal. The alternative? Don't sign the contract to begin with. Okay, then where does one go to ply their trade if they want to be a wrestler? Options limited, so the WWE can pretty much say "take it or leave it" and there isn't much leverage for the bottom 80-percent of their roster to negotiate. Even former WWE wrestlers who are still overall pro-WWE admit that morale, pay, and working conditions have gotten worse over the last few years for all but the select few at the top. In the social media, "look at me" culture we find ourselves in it's not surprising to see people get out of there and take out their frustrations. Is it a classy move? No. Is it understandable? To me it is.
