Since I was in the area on my way to the Palms this afternoon, today at the Rio I went to the new Whopper Bar which opened last Spring. I normally do not go to Burger King often (for example I have only been to the Burger King across the street from me once in the 18 months I have lived at my current address,) but I decided to try this place.
The Whopper Bar is basically a slightly upscale Burger King except with big screen TVs (they were playing college football this afternoon,) alcohol, and an expanded toppings menu.
Today for lunch at the Whopper Bar I had a Whopper with lettuce and tomato (but minus onions and pickles because I don't like onions and pickles,) and with peppered bacon, pepper jack cheese, and blackened cajun sauce, fries with buffalo sauce, and a 16 oz bottle of MGD (first time I have drank alcohol at a fast food place since 1997 when I spent that summer around Amsterdam in The Netherlands.)
It was pretty good and worth checking out if you come here to Las Vegas (or any of the other locations around the country- I understand there a few others in different places too.)

An upscale Burger King? WTF? Maybe there will be an upscale Taco Bell next.

I've seen a upscale McDonalds that is a sitdown with waitress service and they even have Steak on the menu besides your traditional McDonalds fast food...

In the movie Demolition Man every upscale restaurant was a Taco Bell. I remember Taco Bell in Demolition Man. On a side note, from what I recall, in the overseas showings of Demolition Man the Taco Bell references were changed to Pizza Hut in some countries that didn't have many or any Taco Bells.
