I want to send out a quick "thank you" to Pete Fusco. After watching about five or six Johnny Saint matches, I put together a shell of what I thougt the card layout should look like (general format without any actual moves, things like "move - 2 (ch A)" and stuff like that). A day or two later, Chad Olson shot me a copy of Pete's bootleg and it was almost identical to my draft, right down to the Johnny Saint Special coming off of a Level 3 Defense roll. Anyway, I used Pete's bootleg to help fill the moveset out and greatly appreciate the assist. Now I just need someone to explain why a series of Saint's moves is named after oddball British TV comedian Russ Abbot.  Thanks! To my knowledge, "Russ Abbott" has no kayfabe meaning and was never actually meant to be used as a term that the fans or announcers "knew." It was strictly one of several codewords that Saint used when calling spots--maybe it was based on Cockney rhyming slang, who knows. I don't think the term came out publicly until guys like Chris Hero started actively aping his style. |

Hoping that the sets come in a more timely manner then the last time I ordered a large order. the post office took a week and a half to deliver sometihing a 5 hour drive away.

Got my set today, could only briefly look at them but cards and artwork look amazing (love the Fred Blassie especially), and I can't wait to get these guys (and gals) into my fed.
On a related note I got the CHIKARA 5-pack (Batiri, Los Ice Creams) and those are amazing as well. Can't wait to roll a match with the Ice Creams ;D

And it starts again.....ppl further away getting cards sooner then here. Jersey if further away than Brewster, yet it seems like whenever there is a big release (like the summer one) my post office feels that things need to sloooooowwwww down. Hopefully by the weekend, but I am sure it could be some time after new years.

Hopefully by the weekend, but I am sure it could be some time after new years. I'd worry if I beat you! I hate Xmas releases because they are deemed never to get to me by Xmas. I remember pre-ordering the expansion set that was released at Xmas 2009 and it arrived very late January. Then I remember ordering a set just after Xmas back in 2003 and it arrived first week of January so go figure! |

I'm surprised mine came today. I work near my home and two days ago my mail arrived at my job! It's a completely different address but yet there I was getting my home mail at work and it's not like they know where I work. Hope you get yours soon. |
