No Good Old Jr., no HHH!!!!! instead show focuses on Punk, Bryan (most importantly) and even Ryder. GREAT (imo) opening. Great Main Event. Great 10pm segment w Kane going after Cena is a way I thought came off totally awesome. I loved the brawl. The spot where Cena clotheslined Kane over the top rope and Kane yanked him out of the ring was great for some reason to me. Then smothering Cena? Damn.
They even had a sweet mid-card tag team match between the Uso's and Epico/Primo. I liked that a lot.
Great show. Let's hope this isn't simply a trap for Punk/Bryan and both are taken down a few notches in time for Mania. It's hard not to worry, but I'm trying to enjoy the ride. I'd love to see both Punk and especially Bryan defend the belt a lot.

Loved the show tonight. Great opening promo. A tag match with real tag teams. An interesting cena segment and a main event with the future of the WWE. BTW, saw this pic from yesterday. Great to see. p.twimg.com/AhEjpnVCQAIFL4T.jpg[/img]twitter.com/#!/CMPunk/status/148939460514562049/photo/1

I really lied this show. I am partial to shows in which the opening promo leads to a brawl which leads to a main event. If that happened every raw, I would be happy.
CM Punk did more in ten minutes to help Bryan than anyone has except for the Miz matches in a couple of years.
I liked them all coming from the crowd at the end.....I got a Von Erich vibe from it, it was quite cool.

I thought this was a pretty good show, too. Loved everything Punk said in his opening promo.
This is the 1st time in a long time where no big man has had a belt. Very cool to see them do that.

I thought the show was alright. I especially liked the way Barrett manhandled Orton, giving him the WASTELAND through a table. I believe this was really needed to make Barrett a legit threat! For too long, the heels have been getting shown up by the faces, so this was good to see. Love Cena/Kane feud brewing. The Kane of old is cool to see. Even Cena had that look of uncertainty or worry on his face when Kane looked at him. Solid performance there. The only spot I can honestly remember just rolling my eyes at was Alicia Fox!? Her little promo at the end just made me go "whatever". But most Divas do that for me.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong but one thing that really stood out was the fact that Michael Cole wasn't going insane all night. He really makes me want to mute the show generally and I still don't think he's a good thing for the show.
Very strong show. Hopefully we are seeing the birth of a new "new generation".

I hate to be the pessimist, but how long do you think before they start screwing things up to reclaim the status quo?

I hate to be the pessimist, but how long do you think before they start screwing things up to reclaim the status quo? Probably not very long, but that isn't really the point. This is not a company known for going out on a limb and trying new things. The fact that they are open minded enough to admit things aren't perfect and try to shake it up is a step in the right direction.

I hate to be the pessimist, but how long do you think before they start screwing things up to reclaim the status quo? All accounts are that the Survivor Series numbers and last night's ratings were somewhere between "disappointing" and "disastrous." While I personally wouldn't put much of that on Punk or Bryan, I have a feeling that the WWE will. And I thought Cole was even more annoying than usual last night. There's a difference between being a heel commentator and being a guy who just completely shits all over the talent that you're trying to get over and the fans who are watching. Not to get all "Back in my day..." here again but someone in the WWE needs to be force-fed a huge diet of Ventura, Cornette, and Heenan and learn that it's actually possible to make fun of babyfaces AND get them over at the same time. A heel announcer shouldn't make me want to mute the TV or change the channel.

Or just replace Michael Cole with William Regal, who's actually good on commentary as his stint as commentator of NXT proved. Not sure what chemistry Regal would have with Lawler but he'd be infinetly superior to Cole I'm sure.
