That's how cats play, bazzy. I've got one that does that like clockwork at 3AM. If you yell or make noise when they do that they think you're in on the game.
Do you have cat toys? Do you play with the cat every once in a while (trail some string or yarn on the floor and let it "attack" it, roll a ball across the floor, that sort of thing)?

Yeah she has got toys (fish on a string / balls etc) . But previous cats that we have known , were never like this . Its just nasty horrible and concern before someone gets really hurt . Why attck the hand that feeds you .

If my name was Dolly I'd be pissed too...
...how old is this cat? Could just be normal "kitten behavior" that she'd grow out of, or perhaps you want to consider getting the front claws removed.

Why attck the hand that feeds you . Sometimes rescue cats have lived through so much past trauma and abuse that they are unable to be domesticated. It's a shame if that proves to be the case here. Other than time and patience, this site offers some good tips on how to make a cat feel comfortable in a new home. Good luck with it!

I think new cats, especially young new cats, sort of have to be conditioned about how you want them to behave. When I saved my cat (whose previous owner had abandoned her) from the shelter 3 years ago, she did some things I did not like at first. For example, one thing she did was scratch my new black leather couch. I stopped that by getting a squirt bottle and setting it to mist and spraying the water toward her (but not actually on her, a mist of water aimed in a cat's general direction is usually enough to get it to stop whatever it is doing.) At the same time, whenever she scratched her scratching post, I rewarded her with catnip. It did not take long for her to realize if she scratches the sofa she get water sprayed at her but if she scratches the scratching post she gets catnip. 3 years later she still only scratches the scratching post (which I have had to replace twice- but much better than having to replace carpet or furniture.)

Name "Dolly" was already given to her at the home . But Dolly was the name of my dad's mum (RIP) . Which we thought was abit spooky .
She is about 18months/2 years old .
Mr Vegas - He you sprayed water towards Dolly she would just attack you .
85% of the time okay . Cant eat meals in peace , she in your face . Got toys out green frog on a fishing rod . She has attacked it , like a lion killing its pray and destroyed it . After she has had a poo she runs around about 100mph crazy attacking anything . Go to stroke her , her claws are always out on the attack mode . Looking now she maybe 10% siamese in her . NO means nothing to her . Hopefully she is going back today to the home , We don't plan to get another cat . This experience has put us off getting another cat .

Well I didn't want to suggest this at first, but what about declawing her? I think it is a last resort type of solution because taking a cat's front claws is sort of like taking away the fingertips of a person. But a cat without its claws with an actual home is still better than a cat living in a cage at a shelter with its claws intact.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You went above and beyond in trying to help the cat in the first place. Ultimately doing what you feel is best for yourself and your family isn't an act of failure. You deserve a thumbs up on this whole Dolly experiment!
