It is far too premature to determine if Tebow is "franchise qb". Its only the end of his 2d year and his 1st year in a new system. But, Elway and co. have been doing just that all year -- trying to determine if Tebow is "franchise qb". There's going to be some attractive free agents (Matt Flynn) and rookie signal callers (Ryan Tannenhill, Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles) who could be on Denver's radar in rounds 1 or 2 if they don't think he is. Franchise QB's are determined to be boom or bust the day they enter the league. Josh McDaniels determined he was. Now Elway has to decide if he is. If he is they probably don't go QB in the early rounds next April, It's never too early to try and determine if a 1st round QB can or can't be your franchise. IMO I imagine Elway gives the green light and begins to build that offense around Tebow by getting him a solid RB and a legit TE. Lamar Miller out of Miami will be a horse at the next level and should be there at end of 1st round. Draft filled with monster TE's 6'6 +

I agree, Elway has been doing that. THat is his job. Just saying it takes time to determine if someone is a "franchise" qb. Elway made plenty of mistakes his first few years--I saw them (i.e. lining up behing the guard for a snap, poor reads, etc.). And the draft is nothing more than a crapshoot--especially when drafting a qb. For every first rounder like Matt Ryan, you get overated and underperformers like Sanchez and the annual Kiper manlove/bust (Clausen). SOme of the best qbs ever got drafted later on (Montana, Brady) or not drafted at all (Warner). Had Tebow not been drafted in the first round, he would have been in the second, and we would be left with this same whimisical discussion.
And this draft is not expected to be as good or as deep as last years crop.
McDaniels ability to judge talent is VERY POOR. He took a perenial playoff team and drove it into the ground in just over 1 year. I hold McDaniels and Kiper in the same regard.
Tebow is a good system right now. It works for him, and most importantly it works for the team--they are in the playoffs (sorry Rex, go back to seeing why Sanchez doesn't work). All I am saying is give him some time.

See, I don't think it takes long to determine a "franchise qb". You can see some semblence of whether a guy is a 'chise qb in his first year (if they get snaps). Would anybody call TJ Yates a "franchise qb"? I wouldn't. Would anybody call Dalton or Newton "franchise qb's? Most definitely.
But football is a team game. More than any other sport is history; you need a team to win. Individual efforts mean less in football. Would anyone call Doug Williams a 'chise qb"? Trent Dilfer?
But every one conciders Dan Marino a 'chise qb and up until the final two years he played, Elway had not won a SB either.
Just because you get your "franchise qb", that doesn't necessarily mean SB success.
I give credit to the Broncos for this. They have tailored their offense to fit what Tebow does best. Add that to the fact that this team straight up balls for him...and they win. It may be ugly, but there is that whole adage of "rather win ugly than lose pretty".

I'm just tired of all the press coverage he gets. Plus, the Lions owned him!!! I detest the Steelers though so I'm glad Denver won. But, I'm so sick of seeing New England in the Super Bowl I'd like to see Denver take them out too. When your team is as good as the Pats and consistently make the playoffs/SB...will you get tired of that too? Brady and the Pats (Spygate aside) deserve to be where they're at, they do it with low key players and have built everything they have from the ground up. We (yes, they are my team) don't run at the mouth and brag about what we're gonna do...Brady, Belicheck and Co. simply go out and whoop people's asses...next week it'll just happen to be the Broncos in the way and Tebow will find out what it's like to get ran over by a consistently high caliber team and welcomed to the NFL for real.

Did I hit a nerve or something? LOL. I just like seeing new blood in the big game every few years.

No nerve, but there's a lot of Pats haters out there and it gets tiring of all the hate when they do good. People are quick to jump on the back when we slip. I was just speaking my peace is all. I was just saying if you see your team in the playoffs each year like the Pats are, would it still be tiring? I doubt it. It's cool, I was just adding my 2 cents.

No fan gets tired of seeing their team in the playoffs each year, or any year--including the Patriots fans. If the Jets, Bills, or Dolphins don't like it, there is a real easy solution--beat the Patriots! And now Jets fans, please go back to your dreams of imaginary SB trophies.

You did kinda go Bart Scott on him telling him not to run his mouth lol damn
People hate winners.
Patriots Steelers Jordan Yankees Red Wings Lakers Tebow Cowboys John Cena CM Punk (notice the new IWC thing is to hate on Punk? lol) Miz Justin Beiber pretty much anything where someone made it. If you make it that = you suck basically
etc.etc...
the more haters you have the chances are the more successful you are. Because success breeds hate. It breeds jealously. When once succeeds it's because you have left all those unable, unwilling, or simply over-matched in your dust. Look around. No one hates the Buffalo Bills. Nobody. No one hates the Browns. No one ever hated the Lions until they started kicking people's asses this year. Same reason everyone has ever absolutely loved Paul London, Samoa Joe, Zack Ryder, Drew McIntyre, Chavo Gurerrero and all these other piles because they were never "pushed". Losers love to get behind losers and hate on winners. It's easier to identify with. But god forbid one of their favorites (CM Punk, Bryan Danielson) actually "makes it". Now all the IWC seems to do is complain about these guys.
Same w Pats. America loved the Pats when they upset the Rams in the Super Bowl. They were still popular when they defeated the Panthers. A few Super Bowls and professional models later, everyone hates them, hates Brady, and make fun of his hair (creepy).
That's all it is. I can only hope that one day my Lions are as ruthlessly hated as the Patriots.

Well said, Swarm. I always tell fans of hated teams to ... heh ... embrace the hate. No one hates the Pirates, Clippers, Panthers, etc. In sports, being hated is an honor. It means you are relevant. You should pray your team is hated. If your team isn't hated, it means no one cares. Probably because your team isn't winning.
