I'm baaaaaaack.....
Just when you thought it was safe to return to the OFGMB, good old Bockwinkle99 has reappeared with his take on Herb Abrams' Universal Wrestling Federation.
This is a reboot of my original fed that I abandoned for personal reasons back in October with some changes.
The pro division and celebrity division have now been separated into two different shows (much like Raw and Smackdown). The LOW division now is exclusively featured on the Fury Hour and will be the only show that I regularly post.
Showdown will now be exclusively the home for the UWF's celebrity division. This will make for a more streamlined format (I hope). Anyone interested in Showdown can message me or comment here and I will consider adding the Showdown results in some form.
Also, like the UWF which was perpetually funding challenged, Fury Hour will be pretty bareboned. I'll throw in some dialogue when I think I can (in-ring action is my strength) but mainly I will allow the wrestling to speak for itself.
So, here we go again, folks. Welcome back to the UWF. It's once again WHAT THE UNIVERSE IS WATCHING!!

Bockwinkle99 presents Herb Abrams' UWF
March 23rd
"THIS IS THE FURY HOUR!!"
Matches taped at City Limits in Ft. Lauderdale, FL--sellout crowd of 52 in attendance.
(Note: An original venue of the UWF. Per fort.lauderdale.nightguide.com, this was a bar, so 52 could, conceivably, be a sell-out.)
Craig DeGeorge (play by play); Mike Golic (color); Herb Abrams (booker/interviews)
*) Herb Abrams enters the ring to welcome the crowd to the UWF Fury Hour, but his greetings are interrupted by Colonel DeBeers and his bodyguard, Cowboy Bob Orton. DeBeers says that he has come to personally demand from Abrams a title shot against current UWF Champion "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Before Herb can respond, however, the ring is stormed by the force of nature that is "King Kong" Brody! As DeBeers and Orton bail out, Brody grabs the mic and makes his case for a shot against Williams. Herb somehow manages to regain control of the interview. Getting the vocal approval of the crowd, Herb books DeBeers and Brody into a match tonight, the winner getting a title shot.
1. Tommy Angel and Corporal Kirshner d. the Blackhearts (Vampire Warrior and the Kiss Demon, w/manager and UWF womens champion Luna Vachon)
*) The Demon submits in Kirshner's Corporal Clutch
2. Linda Dallas p. Americana
*) After the bell, Trudy Adams comes out to check on her fellow GLOW alumnus, Americana, and Dallas jumps her. The Nasty Girl pummells the Farmer's Daughter from pillar to post until Americana recovers enough to make the save and joins Trudy in a double slingshot of Dallas.
3. David Sammartino b. Louie Spicolli by disqualification
*) Referee Jesse Hernandez stops the match when Dan Spivey attacks David at ringside. Spivey beats Sammartino bloody until the locker room empties and wrestlers and officials finally push Spivey back to the dressing rooms.
**) The Russians (Nikolai Volkoff and Nikita Koloff) and their manager, Nikita Bresnikov, issue an open challenge to the bar for competition. Herb quickly enters the ring and tells them that he has found two men that want to take them on. They are two "local wrestlers", he says, that have had some in-ring experience and have signed with the UWF for national exposure. The Russians quickly accept, but regret the decision when the "local wrestlers" turn out to be Killer Kowalski and "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers!
4. Killer Kowalski and Buddy Rogers d. the Russians
*) Volkoff submits in Kowalski's stomach claw as Koloff and Rogers brawl across the ring. The Russians beat a retreat before the legends.
5. Ann Casey p. Cindy Rogers
*) Veteran Casey has a successful debut in the UWF over the younger but tough Rogers, immediately making her a top challenger to Luna Vachon's Womens title.
6. Col. DeBeers (w/Bob Orton) p. King Kong Brody
*) Brody and DeBeers go tooth and nail, but when Brody gets the upper hand, Orton whacks Kong from behind with his ever present cast. DeBeers staggers over and covers Brody for the three count and the title shot.
Tune in next time for more Fury Hour matches. Until then, we'll see you at the matches.

Bockwinkle99 presents Herb Abrams' Universal Wrestling Federation
"This is...the FURY HOUR!!"
Matches taped at the Hotel Pennsylvania Ballroom in New York City
1. Cowboy Bob Orton b. Iceman King Parsons by disqualification *) It doesn't take long for the fight between these two rivals leaves the ring. Referee Billy Silverman does his best to usher them back to the ring, allowing them to fight it out until Parsons rams Orton head first into the steel ring post. With no other choice now, Silverman calls for the bell and awards the match to Orton as the crowd showers the dazed Orton with boos.
**) Bam Bam Bigelow appears in a taped promo announcing his return to the UWF, to which Herb adds that that return will happen on next week's Fury Hour.
2. Chief Jay Strongbow p. "Cutie Pie" Louie Spicolli *) Spicolli proves a stubborn foe for the Native American, but Strongbow perseveres and overcomes the self styled "Best looking man in the UWF".
**) CAPT. LOU'S CORNER--The Captain interviews David Sammartino, who has some choice words for Dan Spivey as footage of "the Dangerous One"'s beating of the second generation star for last week's show airs.
3. "Nasty" Linda Dallas p. "the Farmer's Daughter" Trudy Adams *) Adams' attempt to get revenge on Dallas falls short, but then gets worse as Dallas grabs a metal pipe after the bell and beats Adams with it, at one point choking Trudy and shouting that there was no place in wrestling for someone like her. Referees Scott Dickinson and Jesse Hernandez finally pull Dallas away.
4. UWF Tag Team Champions the Bruiser and the Crusher d. Tommy Angel and Corporal Kirshner to retain the title. *) The Bruiser pins Angel in another example of "Beer and Pretzel Power" overcoming youth and speed.
That's it, folks. Tune in next time as Bam Bam Bigelow debuts against Spitball Patterson, UWF Womens Champion Luna Vachon defends the title against the legendary Ann Casey and, in the main event, David Sammartino takes on Dangerous Danny Spivey in a grudge match. Until then, we'll see you at the matches.

Bockwinkle99 presents Herb Abrams's Universal Wrestling Federation
"This...is...the FURY HOUR!!"
Matches taped in the Hotel Pennsylvania Ballroom in New York City
Fury Hour is broadcast over SportsChannel America (3.0 rating)
Craig DeGeorge (play by play), John Tolos (color), Herb Abrams (booker/interviews), Capt. Lou Albano (interview segment host)
1. Bam Bam Bigelow p. Spitball Patterson *) The Beast from the East debuts in the UWF with a squash match victory over Patterson
**) David Sammartino and Dan Spivey cut promos aimed at one another. Sammartino dares the "Dangerous One" to meet him face to face in the ring and try to take him out. Wild-eyed Spivey warns David that "Daddy can't help you now".
2. Ann Casey p. UWF Women's Champion Luna Vachon to win the championship. *) The old-school vet Casey takes everything Luna can throw at her, then gives it back and more to take the title away from the "Rabid Chihuahua" Luna.
**) CAPTAIN LOU'S CORNER: Tonight's guests are UWF tag team champions the Bruiser and the Crusher. They discuss the top contenders to their titles, and their tastes in food and drink. It ends with Lou going off with Bruiser and Crusher in search of a bar nearby.
3. The Russians (Nikita Koloff and Nicolai Volkoff, w/Nikita Breznikov) b. Killer Kowalski and "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers by disqualification. *) Kowalksi is disqualified by the referee for breaking up a Koloff cover by coming off the top turnbuckle onto Nikita's neck.
4. David Sammartino b. Dan Spivey by disqualification. *) Again, the two enemies brawl all around the ballroom. Referee Jesse Hernandez lets them go until Spivey throws UWF promoter Herb Abrams out of his chair at ringside and uses it to split David's head open. Officials race in to check on both Sammartino and Abrams as the show ends.
There will be a house show mid-week, where UWF Champion "Dr. Death" Steve Williams will compete (opponent to be announced), and of course tune in next week for the next installment of the Fury Hour. Until then, we'll see you at the matches.

1. "Adorable" Adrian Adonis p. "Cutie Pie" Louie Spicolli

2. Linda Dallas d. Americana in a no-DQ match
*) After Americana submits in an octopus hold, Dallas ignores the referee and maintains the hold. From nowhere, April Hunter appears and brawls with Dallas. The brawl ends with Hunter posting the "Nasty Girl".
3. The Russians (w/Nikita Breznikov) d. Tommy Angel & Cpl. Kirshner *) Nikita Koloff p. Kirshner
4. Sid Vicious p. "Wild Thing" Steve Ray
