Although I also want to see the CZW IPPV that is taking place at the same time as this show (I'll probably see the replay of that CZW IPPV later that night or the next day,) today I ordered Supercard of Honor VII.
I just bought the streaming option instead of adding the DVD too for an extra $9.99 since I am selective on which DVDs I buy and if it is indeed something I really want on DVD like Border Wars last year then ROH at some point will have a sale to get it at that same $9.99 price or perhaps even less.
as of today, the announced lineup for Supercard of Honor VII:
ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Kevin Steen (or Mark Briscoe should he defeat Steen in Asheville, NC) defends against Jay Briscoe ROH World Tag Team Championship reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) vs the American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) 3 Way ROH World TV Championship Matt Taven w/ Truth Martini vs Adam Cole vs "Self Proclaimed Icon" Matt Hardy #1 Contenders Match Jay Lethal vs "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin
Special Challenge Match "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs Roderick Strong HONOR vs SCUM - 10 MAN WAR! TEAM ROH (BJ Whitmer, Makr Briscoe, Mike Mondo, Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander) vs TEAM S.C.U.M. (Jimmy Jacobs, Cliff Compton, Rhett Titus, Jimmy Rave & Rhino) WGTT Explodes "The Outlaw" Charlie Haas vs Shelton Benjamin Tag Team Challenge Match ACH & Tadarius Thomas vs "God's Gift" Qt Marshall & A Mystery Partner

Haas vs. Benjamin is no longer happening since Haas retired. Can someone with their finger on the ROH pulse tell me what's going on with Haas? Is this a work? I assume not based on what allegedly happened backstage in North Carolina recently.

At first I thought it was a work. But with more details, it looks like he flipped out for some reason. It's too bad because he was doing a awesome job getting heat. Maybe he and his character aren't so far apart...

Thanks, aceldamas. I'd be shocked if this was a work because it would mean that the ROH talent was being worked just as much as the fans! #loosecannon
As you say, it just seems like Haas lost the plot and went a little crazy nutso.

I assume not based on what allegedly happened backstage in North Carolina recently. It's not a work. He's an asshole and nobody's going to miss him. It started when he showed up drunk, hit Grizzly Redwood who was just standing up for the students Haas bullied. He got fired, left, came back (apparently they let him back in), proceeded to say he'd "Beat that f--king hepatitis out of Nigel" and then was gone. Frankly, for what he said about Nigel, he can eat shit and die. Nigel contributed FAR MORE to pro wrestling than Charlie Haas...not that that's hard to do or anything.

Can someone with their finger on the ROH pulse tell me what's going on with Haas? Is this a work? I assume not based on what allegedly happened backstage in North Carolina recently. I don't watch ROH, but word of the incident peaked my interest. According to multiple eye witness accounts from the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer: i. Charlie Haas (age 41, 6'2 249 lbs, collegiate amateur wrestling background, former WWE 'Superstar') had a rep for not getting along with certain segments of the ROH locker room (filled with younger guys, who were less experienced and physically smaller). ii. Just before intermission at a recent show, an argument ensued between Haas and Grizzly Redwood (age 27, 5'3). According to accounts, words were exchanged, Haas physically assaulted the much smaller Redwood and had to be pulled off of him. iii. The booker was there, flipped out on Haas for assaulting Redwood, and even though Haas had an upcoming match scheduled with a local ticket seller, fired him and ordered him to leave the building. iv. An emotional Haas ignored the booker and came to the ring to wrestle the scheduled match. In an effort to contain the situation, the locker room was on 'stand by' but didn't interfere. The match was handled professionally, with Haas changing the finish (putting the local ticket seller over clean). Haas then cut the rant/promo announcing his retirement. In reality, he had already been terminated. Charlie was a good in ring talent, but only a passable promo and was probably his own biggest fan. Given his age, his best days were most likely behind him. He supposedly has a sales job opportunity waiting in the wings. What happened to his brother Russ was tragic, in another era those two could have drawn some serious coin overseas as a long term tag act. Maybe one day in LOW? C'est la vie!
