All this buzz about Endgame’s pending heel turn has made me want to break out my New Beginning set. Here are the results from the 1st card of my reboot.
Card 2119.01.01 – GWF Warzone at Niagara Tower of Lights, New York, USA, Earth
The show opens with Commissioner Massif in the ring holding the Galaxian and Galaxian Tag Team Title belts. Massif explains there have been some significant changes in the GWF and that tonight is the start of a New Beginning for the federation. Massif announces that the competition committee has made several difficult decisions in order to reduce costs and made significant cuts to the GWF roster. As a result, all the GWF’s Titles have been declared vacant. The new Galaxian, Galaxian Tag Team and Galaxian Women’s Champions will be determined at the Deimos Perennial that will take place on Card 2119.03.03. More details will be announced shortly. Massif then remarks that it is only fitting that the first Warzone be held at the place where it all started so many years ago, the Niagara Tower of Lights. (Cheap pop!)
Reckless v. Swarm w/She Devil
There is a great pace to this bout. Reckless shows his skills and nearly gets the win with a FLYING HAZARD. The referee goes down off a Reckless Deathjump and it is chaotic in the ring until Baruum Forus arrives to take over match and just in time to see Reckless connect with a RECKLESS DRIVER for two. Swarm is in trouble and Reckless completes the upset with a backward splash. Swarm offers a handshake before he leaves ringside and Reckless has a big upset to get thing going.
Disaster leads Havoc and Paralyze to the ring and cuts a great promo tells the fans that this may be a new beginning for the GWF but it is going to be the same old beating for the Ani-Men! She Devil leads Antak and Minotaur towards ringside to a nice pop. As the Ani-Men make their way to the ring, we go backstage where Swarm is under attack by Kill Prey. Swarm battles back and both men go into the pop machine which will not be serving any more soda tonight. An AMBUSH puts Swarm down as security arrives to break things up.
Havoc & Paralyze w/Disaster v. Ani-Men Invasion (Antak & Minotaur) w/She-Devil
Antak and Minotaur are rightfully concerned about what they have just seen the end of on the hologram screen but Phillip Haas calls for the bell. The story in this one is the Gladiator’s power. Minotaur takes a PARALYZER but Antak makes the save. Later, Paralyze whips Antak into the ring post and then crushes him with a PARALYZER but Minotaur is in for the save and takes out Paralyze with a MINOTAUR’S CHARGE. Havoc jumps into the match and it is chaos in the ring. Haas calls for the bell and has disqualified both teams. Disaster joins the battle and takes out both Ani-Men with RAMPAGES. The Gladiators leave the Ani-Men dazed in the middle of the ring while the fans boo them out of ringside.
Commissioner Massif is backstage and announces the brackets for the Galaxian Tag Team Title Tournament at Deimos Perennial but is interrupted by the Gladiators who tell Massif the brackets will only determine the order of who will get hurt first. Disaster tells us that every competitor, male, female or tag team, that stands between the Gladiators and victory will end up in a heap just like the Ani-Men just did.
In the parking lot there is a huge line up for American Guy who is hosting a barbeque.
Tauran v. Epoch w/Slave Beast
Slave Beast leads Epoch to the ring and then draws great heat by announcing Epoch will soon assume his rightful place Earth’s leader. A few smart fans at ringside bow to Epoch as he steps into the ring. Phillip Haas gets the call again to officiate and we are underway. Tauran looks very impressive early on using both is finishers up a near fall and a submission attempt. Epoch finally gets something going at ringside when Beast gets involved striking Tauran from behind. Epoch goes on the offensive including The DARK AGE. Anivar makes his way to the ring to be in the corner of his partner. Epoch keeps the offensive pressure on including a backbreaker rack and a deathjumps smash. There is crazy brawl on the floor involving all four men. Epoch tosses Tauran back into the ring and hits a third THE DARK AGE while Beast brawls with Anivar. 1, 2, 3. Key interference by Slave Beast gives Epoch a comeback victory
.
The Guardians are in the back. Endgame is encouraging Valour to focus internally to become one with his physical form. Valour wants nothing to do with it and tells Endgame that the only thing that will bring him inner peace is rubbing the paint off a Gladiator’s face. Valour leaves the room while Reckless looks on.
Commissioner Massif is once again backstage and completes his run down of the upcoming Tag Team Tournament. The opening round matches will be as follows: Trouble Shooters v. Genesis; Guardians v. Colonizers; Havoc & Paralyze v. Society of Death; Stars & Stripes v. Fighting Titans
Disaster w/Thrash v. Valour
Phillip Haas is our referee for the third straight and it is just as well with these two in the ring. It is back and forth early on with the fans on their feet for most of the time. Disaster with a Decapitator out of nowhere for a 1 count before following with a RAMPAGE for the win. Disaster sneers at the fans has he leaves the ring with his arm raised in victory.
The Troubleshooters and Phantasy are in the back and cut a promo on how back Earth smells. Phantasy says it is the smell of Jealousy. Bomb adds that it is the smell of stupidity before Muss says the place just stinks. Phantasy heads out to the ring.
Phantasy v. Shann-Ra w/Vin Strutter
Vin Strutter is on the mic and gives a huge introduction for Ra which the fans crap all over. Phantasy comes out and the heat only doubles. Baruum Forus calls for the bell. Phantasy completes dominates this one and picks up an impressive win with SWEET SUICIDE.
Thantos is backstage with Encubus, The Society of Death and Sly Drury. He tells us that they call this a New Beginning for the GWF but it looks the same to Thantos. Whether this is a new beginning for the GWF or not, this is all possible because of him. The fans were here because of him. Epoch is here because of him. Strutter’s Greatest Show in the Galaxy is here because of him and even the Gladiators are here because of him. Thantos says that he was the one who broke the Galactic Code and that event so many years ago resonates to this very moment and has made all of this possible. He was the one that stood up to Omega and his web of lies and deceit. And now, that family of lies and deceit has reclaimed one of their own. Bloodline, you stand with your Titans and the brother less one. You might as well being standing alone in the face of the power, skill and ability that these disciples of the Games Master possess. It is a new beginning for the GWF but it is the beginning of the end for you.
The Troubleshooters (Muss & Bomb) w/Phantasy v. Stars & Stripes (American Guy & U. S. Male) w/Latasha
The ovation for Stars and Stripes is off the charts. Baruum Forus is the assigned referee. The action in this one was intense from the outset with US Male battling both Muss and Bomb. A Double Roundhouse Kick nearly ends it against Muss. Male gets in some trouble and tags in Guy to a huge ovation. The action goes in and out of the ring as The Bomb and Guy trade blow. Bomb eats the ringside rails and is busted open. Forus lets the action continue over the complaints of Phantasy at ringside. Guy hits AMERICAN FIREPOWER and then gets the three count. The stadium erupts in celebration.
Vin Strutter is backstage and cuts a promo promising the fans a spectacle of epic proportion next War Zone when he presents the Greatest Show in the Galaxy.
Federation Defence Fighters (Bloodline, Switchblade, Tristan & Payback) w/Lorelei v. Gamesmasters (Sly Drury, Encubus, The Betrayer & Tanck) W/Thantos
Baruum Forus is the official assigned to control this one. Good luck. The fans are on their feet for most of the match. We get all the featured feuds at some point during the action. Encubus is careful only to step into the ring against Bloodline when the Gamesmaster’s have the advantage. At one point Tristan gets cut off from this corner and takes a beating but with the fans' support he is able to hot tag out. Later, Drury hits back to back LAST CALLS on Payback but cannot get the win. The end comes with Encubus and Bloodline brawling on the floor. Thantos gets involved and Forus quickly makes the disqualification call. The heels get control after the bell and all four members of the FDF take a beating as the show heads off the air.
