2014.02.16 – Victory Commonwealth Wrestling – El Mocambo, Toronto, Ontario
Roddy Piper v. S. D. Jones Interesting crowd reaction for the opening match for as much as Jones is a fan favourite, Piper has his own followers as well. Piper takes it all in with a smug look on his face and then dominates the action from the bell. However, Piper disregards the rules and blasts Jones with a foreign object earning him a disqualification. The fans are not pleased but Piper could seem to care less as he leaves the ring area. Strange opener. dud
Chris Tolos v. Ricky Landell These two were very evenly matched. Landell used his agility to get the early advantage picking up a near fall with a missile dropkick. Tolos was able to brawl his way back into control of the action with plenty of stomps, boots and knees. The action went in and out of the ring with Landell nearly being counted out of the ring after a particularly vicious beat down on the floor. Tolos ends it with a FLYING KNEE DROP much to the displeasure of the fans. ** ½
Tag Team Title Match - Heartbreak Xpress (Sean & Phil Davis) (ch) v. D’Lo Brown & Konnan Konnan & Brown turned some heads last month with an upset win over the Mongols to earn a shot at the Tag Team Titles. Konnan starts in against Sean Davis and looks impressive sending Davis to the floor after a somersault lariat. Brown tags in and keeps the momentum going for his team with a running power bomb that does not look pretty by any stretch of the imagination but is enough to give Brown and Konnan the win and the Tag Team Titles. dud
Eddie Gilbert v. Magnum TA Allen is really over with the ladies and kids in attendance tonight and takes several minutes to greet the fans as he comes to the ring. Once the bell sounds it is all Gilbert in and out of the ring. There were several wild brawls on the floor where Gilbert excels. Allen survives a HOT SHOT and the action goes back to the floor. Gilbert grabs chair and swings but Allen blocks, steels the chair and clocks his opponent. The referee calls for the disqualification and Allen cannot believe it. More heat for the referees from ringside as Gilbert quickly leaves ringside with the win. *
Ray Stevens w/Sir Oliver Humperdink v. Jimmy Snuka Last card Stevens got the clean win over Superfly but there is too much history between these two for there not to be rematch. Snuka was out to a huge ovation and took control of the match right away with a backbreaker. Snuka quickly scaled the corner for a deathjump but Stevens countered with a boot to the face. Stevens then mounted the corner. BOMBS AWAY and it is over just like that. dud
Johnny Valentine v. John Tolos These two did not get enough of each other back in January before the referee disqualified Valentine and an immediate rematch was signed for tonight’s card. Plenty of hard hitting action as you would expect between these two. Forearms and elbows flew in every corner of the ring and at ringside as well. Both men connect with their finishers early on without success. The action goes back and forth in and out of the ring with no real clear advantage for either man. The end comes when Tolos is tossed to the floor and crawls back in only to be met with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER that gives Valentine the three count. ** ½ Openweight Title Match – Masked Superstar (ch) v. Diamond Dallas Page Superstar bested Page in January for the Title while using a loaded mask to render Page a bloody mess. Tonight was Page’s opportunity for some redemption. It is all Superstar early on with a mix of science and rule breaking. Page is able to counter a charge into the corner with an elbow smash bring the fans to life. Page tosses Superstar outside and comes out after the champion who is able to get control and runs Page into the ringpost. Page is again busted open and the referee calls for the disqualification. Page gets the win but leaves without the title. The fans are not impressed again and fill the ring with trash after yet another disqualification finish. dud

2014.02.16 – Squared Circle Wrestling – Live Act, Whitby - “Adrenaline Cup”
Adrenaline Cup Qualifying Round – Winners advance to a four way elimination match
Sabu v. Crossbones Crossbones is able to catch a charging Sabu in the corner with an elbow to the face and Sabu goes down hard. Crossbones then makes the mistake of taking the bout to the floor where Sabu clocks him with a chair and earns himself a disqualification. Crossbones advances to the finals. dud
Erick Stevens v. The Mountie Interesting reaction for The Mountie from ringside with a fifty/fifty split in support of The Mountie. The support soon turned to jeering however when the Mountie broke out his SHOCK STICK for a near fall. Stevens battled back picking up a near fall with a single leg lift into lariat. There was plenty of brawling on the floor and Stevens did colour off the ring post. Mountie hit a SHORT CHOKE SLAM for a near fall and it took two more blasts with a SHOCK STICK (not a good match for the official) for The Mountie to advance into the finals. ** Mikey Whipwreck v. Arik Cannon The fans expected a solid pace to this encounter and were not disappointed. Whipwreck really came out strong with series of forearm smashes and chops. Cannon struggled to get anything going and Whipwreck planted him with a tornado DDT for a near fall before finishing off Cannon with a WHIPPER-SNAPPER. Whipwreck joins Crossbones and The Mountie in the finals. dud
2 Cold Scorpio v. David Taylor These two brought plenty of international experience to the ring and have very contrasting styles so the fans were not sure what to expect. Taylor has a solid ground attach that gives him a clear advantage early on. Scorpio picks up a 2 ¾ count when he avoids a deathjump smash from Taylor. Scorpio is not able to maintain an advantage however as Taylor uses his power to keep the pace of the match slow. Scorpio slips out of the corner to avoid Taylor’s charge sending the competitor from the United Kingdom into the corner hard. Scorpio covers a dazed Taylor for a two count and then connects with THE DISS THAT DON’T MISS for the win. **
Royal Tag Team Title Match - Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) w/Red Berry (ch) v. Colony (Soldier Ant & Fire Ant) The fans are solidly behind the underdogs Solider Ant and Fire Ant from the outset. The match was surprisingly closely fought with the Colony able to use their speed to keep the champions off balance. Costello was successful in slowing things down including a pair of MARBLE BOR LEGLOCKS on Solider Ant. Fire Ant nearly fell to a Greek Cross from Costello. Although never able to get close to getting one of the Kangaroos in a pinning position it was the Colony’s defense that would lead them to victory when Solider Ant rolled clear of Costello’s deathjump smash sending Costello crashing to the mat. Ant quickly made the cover to claim the titles for the Colony in a stunning upset. After the match, the Kangaroos are joined by Red Berry for a three on two beat down until Green Ant arrives to even things up and the Colony are able to clear the ring much to the delight of the fans. ** ½
Premier Title Match - Buddy Rogers (ch) v. Hacksaw Jim Duggan Duggan is fired up along with the fans as he makes his way to the ring with his trusty 2 x 4 in hand. Rogers begs off early drawing great heat but Duggan shows no mercy with a spinning body slam and a tuff guy clothesline that sends Rogers to the floor. Duggan follows but Rogers decks him with the title belt earning a disqualification. Duggan is dazed which allows the Nature Boy to quickly retreat to the back earning the fans wrath. dud
Adrenaline Cup Finals: Crossbones v. The Mountie v. Mikey Whipwreck v. 2 Cold Scorpio All four men see action early on as the crowd watches the action closely with no clear favourite. Scorpio steps up his attack against The Mountie sending him to the floor with a brainbuster. Scorpio comes out after him and runs the Mountie into the rails by the fans. The Mountie is busted open and Scorpio is the first elimination by disqualification. A bloody Mountie is able to tag out to Whipwreck who battles Crossbones in and out of the ring. Crossbone runs Whipwreck into the rails and the second fall ends the same way as the first. Whipwreck is now busted open and Crossbone heads to the back via disqualification. Mountie gains control as Whipwreck crawls under the ropes. The beating is epic. Mountie uses back to back to back SHORT CHOKE SLAMS but Whipwreck kicks out each time. The crowd explodes each time and are solidly behind Whipwreck. Whipwreck is able to counter a kick to the ribs and catches Mountie in the corner with a running slingshot. WHIPPER-SNAPPER. 1, 2, 3. Mikey wins the Adrenaline Cup! ***
