Decided on a 2087 restart since I just recently found the cards tucked away in a folder. Held an event to crown champs. Here are my starting champions:
GWF Heavyweight Champion: Actagon. Not a huge shock. Has a solid card. Beat Wolf in the finals. GWF Tag Team Champions: Neptunian Space Croppers. Here is a shocker. Beat the Flying Titans in the finals.
This is why I play. Gonna be a wild start!

I had a run where the space croppers dominated the Gladiators. So I restarted. Always wondered how far they could have went.

I restarted a couple months ago, and the Gladiators won the initial tournament for the title, beating the Greek Gods in the finals. They went on to beat the Gods again, but the Flying Titans(Pit Viper and Pulsar) have turned out to be their foil. They beat the Gladiators in non title match, which earned them another title match. I thought, "Well the Gladiators will retain here," since I use a champion's advantage...I was wrong! The Titans would win again to capture the titles! I have a rematch coming up on my next super card, so we'll see if the Titans can do it again. I've done a few restarts over the years, and usually the same guys are at the top, but occasionally I'll have something like this with the Titans, and it's always fun to see something different. I've also had success with the Space Croppers over the Gladiators.

I had a run where the space croppers dominated the Gladiators. So I restarted. Always wondered how far they could have went. That happened to me to the first time I played. The Gladiators eventually hit their stride, won the titles and went on a long tag team title reign but for awhile there the Space Croppers had the Glads' numbers. I've also had runs where Beast Rider and Death Knight have won the Galaxian Championship as well.

J.J. Smooth won my Interstellar title at one point when I still ran CPC. Dreadnaught and DragonMaster had good runs for me on their last cards. Pit Viper and Pulsar were my first tag champions. Never know who the dice will favor which always can make things interesting.

I spent all weekend playing with the 2130 set.
Prime Colonizer just scraped a victory over Plethador; Plethador got squashed by Giant Azuma; Perfect Specimen defeated Kenji but only because of a ref bump and Colby's interference; The Deserters took The Ultimate Fighters to a time-limit draw (which, in my fed, is difficult to do); Monolith & Swarm killed The Gladiators; Prime Colonizer & Lope then killed Monolith & Swarm; Endgame got a marginal win over Code Destroyer.
I love this game!

I have all the GWF sets and after reading the spoilers during G-Con weekend and after reading 2130, I really wanted to start up a new fed and I'm glad I did. I still look back at the older sets and from time to time read the booklets, it is a great hobby for sure. I love this game because of the many options from CotG to LoW to GWFZ and the other great products...
