Saw it last weekend and I enjoyed it. I agree it wasn't as good as the first one but it really is a technical achievement.

I liked this one better, thought it had a stronger story behind it than the first one. I liked the struggle of the apes having the same humanity issues to deal with of hate, anger and wanting revenge.

Rise was a perfect intro and Dawn was the perfect continuation of todays Planet of the Apes franchise. I have to say Dawn was slightly better then Rise, but both were A+ films in my view...

I'm a huge PotA fan, but I really disliked the Tim Burton film except for the costumes were very cool...

I have loved the new Apes franchise. I personally found the second one more entertaining than the original, but it was a very slight margin. I hope that this franchise continues to grow and deliver the same storytelling masterpieces they have so far.
With that said I would like to see the fourth movie (sounds like the third will be "War of the Planet of the Apes) to jump ahead a couple of generations. I would be cool to see Ceaser's family in the future.

Ceaser was always an important part of the Apes lore in that franchise. Plus, the writers have spent so much build-up making the viewers get attached to Ceaser that taking the focus off him right now would be a mistake in my opinion. But, you never know.
