Big League Wrestling Arena Supercard 24 - Cobo Clash! The Blonde Bombers vs. Rick Rude & The Grappler Ray Stevens and The Grappler start the match. Stevens hits a big vertical suplex for a near fall and tags in Spivey. The Grappler makes a comeback and rocks Spivey with an elbow smash and tags in Rick Rude. Rude suplexes Spivey for a near fall and knocks Stevens off the apron. Rude hits the Rude Awakening for the win.
Ivan Koloff vs. Brad Armstrong Koloff and Armstrong battle back and forth, Armstrong unintimidated by the Russian Bear. Koloff takes control and hits the top rope knee drop for a near fall. Koloff locks Armstrong in the Russian Bear Hug for the win.
Harley Race vs. Nick Bockwinkel Race and Bockwinkel grapple back and forth, exchanging holds nad counter holds. Race takes control and drills Bockwinkel with a diving headbutt for a two count. Race and Bockwinkel trade the advantage until Race hits a second diving headbutt, bloodying Bockwinkel. The match spills out of the ring and Race suplexes Bockwinkel on the ring steps, drawing the DQ.
Tommy Rich & Tony Atlas vs. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito Tommy Rich and Mr. Fuji start the match. Rich hits the Thesz Press out of nowhere for a two count. Fuji gets up and Rich clamps on the Wildfire Sleeper. Fuji gets to the ropes and Rich tags in Tony Atlas. Atlas dumps Fuji outside the ring and the devious one takes the advantage on the floor with questionable tactics. Fuji hits the Banzai Drop but Atlas gets his foot on the ropes. Mr. Saito distracts the referee and Fuji hits Atlas in the face with a handful of salt. Seeing the salt in the ring, the referee disqualifies Mr. Fuji, awarding the match to Rich and Atlas.
Blackjack Mulligan vs. Roddy Piper Piper attacks Mulligan from behind as he makes his way up the aisle and the two men brawl into the crowd. The referee eventually herds them back to the ring and rings the bell. Piper drills Mulligan with a foreign object, busting him open. Piper hits Mulligan a second time, dropping him to one knee, blood pouring from a cut over his eye. Piper goes for a cover but Mulligan kicks out. While Piper argues with the referee over the speed of the count, Mulligan gets back to his feet. Piper turns around into a ring-rattling body slam and Mulligan goes for the pin. Piper kicks out at 2 and Mulligan whips him into the ropes. Mulligan hits the back elbow ram for the three count.
The Sheik vs. Johnny Valentine – No DQ National Heavyweight title match Electricity is in the air as two of Cobo Hall's favorites make their way to the ring. At the opening bell, Johnny Valentine takes the fight to the Sheik and hits two Atomic Skullcrushers, opening a gash in the paper-thin skin of the Sheik's forehead. Undeterred, the Shiek unleashes a fireball in Valentine's face and nearly gets the victory. The Sheik dumps Valentine out of the ring and piledrives him on the floor.
The Sheik drags Valentine back into the ring and whips him into the ropes. Valentine reverses a hip toss into a punishing abdominal stretch. The Sheik escapes the hold but is visible weakend. Valentine pummels the Sheik and hits the Atomic Skullcrusher for the third time.

Valentine drills The Sheik with the forearm hammer but the Sheik was too close to the ropes. Valentine hits the fourth atomic skullcrusher of the match but the Sheik rakes the referee's eye rather than have him make the count. Valentine grabs the Sheik by the hair, drags him to the center of the ring, and hits the Atomic Skullcrusher for the fifth time.
The arena is quiet enough to hear a pin drop as the referee begins the count. The crowd counts aloud as his hand hits the mat...

Johnny Valentine is the new Big League Wrestling National Heavyweight Champion! The locker room empties as Valentine celebrates in the ring. Valentine is carried back to the locker room on the shoulders of his fellow wrestlers, the BLW belt held high overhead!

I'm way behind on posting and I'm going to be retooling Big League Wrestling when the new set comes out. In the mean time, let's bring things up to speed Pro Wrestling Illustrated style.
Big League Wrestling Arena Report: 25 - Sabu beat Brad Armstrong with the Triple Jump Moonsault. Blackjack Mulligan beat Bob Roop with a knee to the gut. The Killer Bees beat Rick Rude and the Grappler by count out. Tony Atlas and Mr. Fuji wrestled to a double disqualification. Ivan Koloff lost to Magnum TA by DQ. Nick Bockwinkel & Bobby Shane lost the National Tag Team titles to Harley Race & Larry Hennig after Race hit Shane with the Piledriver.
26 - The Blonde Bombers lost to the Killer Bees by disqualification. Mike Graham lost to the Sheik by disqualificaiton. Tony Atlas lost to Mr. Saito via the Saito Suplex. Magnum TA & Brad Armstrong lost to Ivan Koloff & The Warlord after a full nelson on Armstrong. Bobby Shane lost to Harley Race after the Piledriver. 32 - The Sheik defeated Mike Graham with a fireball. Hacksaw Jim Duggan lost to the Grappler after a shoulder breaker. Nick Bockwinkel & Bobby Shane beat the Blonde Bombers after a Bockwinkel Sleeper on Spivey. Ray Steves left with Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Shane after the match. Tony Atlas beat Bob Roop with the press slam and splash. Harly Race & Larry Hennig beat the Killer Bees by disqualification to retain the National Tag Team titles. Johnny Valentien beat Roddy Piper by DQ to retain the National Heavyweight title.
33 - Tony Atlas defeated Freddie Blassie with the press slam and splash. Tracy Smothers lost to the Sheik via an elbow drop. The Armstrongs defeated Ivan Koloff and the Warlord after a sleeper on the Warlord. Magnum TA beat Bob Roop with the belly to belly suplex. Terry Gordy defeated Rick Rude following a running lariat. Harley Race & Larry Hennig defeated the Sheeperherders to retain the National Tag Team titles.

Big League Wrestling 34 - Big League Cup Qualifiers Bob Roop vs. Mr. Saito: Roop and Saito battle back and forth. Saito is disqualified for slamming Roop on the exposed concrete. Roop advances to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Freddie Blassie vs. The Sheik: Blassie wears down the Sheik with a nerve pinch and then opens a huge gash on his forehead with his filed-down teeth. Blassie hits the Southern Neckbreaker but The Sheik manages to get a foot on the ropes. As Blassie jaws with the referee, The Sheik rolls him up for a near fall. The Sheik mangles Blassie's forehaed with the pencil but the Vampire fights back and nails the Southern Neckbreaker a second time for a near fall. Blassie complains about the speed of the count and the Sheik rolls him up a second time for a near fall. The Sheik goes to the forehead again and Blassie is wearing the crimson mask, courtesy of the pencil. Blassie mounts a comeback and drills The Sheik with a southern neckbreaker but the Sheik again gets his foot on the ropes. The Sheik recovers and further injures Blassie with the Pencil. Blassie recovers and gnaws on the Sheik's forehead. The referee tries to pull them apart but Blassie goes to the forehead again, gnawing and biting. The referee tries to pull them a apart but Blassie hits the low blow behind the referee's back. He hooks the leg and gets the three count to advance. Blackjack Mulligan vs. Bob Armstrong: Mulligan and Armstrong battle back and forth. Mulligan clamps on the clawhold three times before finally getting Armstrong to submit. The Crusher vs. Curt Hennig: Hennig outwrestles the Crusher for the first few minutes but Da Bum can't hang with the Man who made Milwaukee famous. The Crusher wears down Hennig with the stomach claw. Hennig makes a comeback and hits the Hennig Plex but the Crusher kicks out. Crusher locks on the stomach claw a second time but Hennig makes it to the ropes. The Crusher winds up and hits the Crusher Bolo for the win. Ted DiBiase vs. Tony Atlas: DiBiase clips Atlas from behind as he enters the ring and locks on the figure four as the opening bell rings. Atlas uses his tremendous power and drags himself and DiBiase to the ropes to break the hold. Atlas makes a comeback and hits the press slam and splash for the win. Don Leo Jonathan vs. Magnum TA: DLJ dominates Magnum early on, throwing TA all over the ring. Magnum recovers and hits the belly to belly suplex for a near fall. DLJ gets to his feet and Magnum hits his signature hold a second time for the win. Tommy Rich vs. Roddy Piper: Piper takes control early but Rich makes a comeback and scores a near fall with the right uppercut. Rich follows it up with a Thesz Press but Piper manages to get his shoulder up. Rich clamps on the Wildfire Sleeper but Piper escapes the hold and mounts a comeback. Piper locks on the Sleeper but Rich manages to get to the ropes. Rich locks on the wildfire sleeper a second time for the win. Bryan Danielson vs. Sabu: Sabu hits the hurricanrana for a near fall in the opening minutes of the match. Sabu loks on the camel clutch but Danielson manages to break the hold. Sabu goes for the Triple Jump Moonsault but misses and Danielson locks on the Guillotine Choke. Sabu manages to grab the bottom rope but Danielson drags him back to the center of the ring and locks on the Guillotine Choke a second time for the win. BLW 35 Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens vs. The Poffos: Stevens and Lanny Poffo start the match. Stevens hits the jumping knee smash for a near fall. Stevens goes to the top and hits the Bombs Away but Angelo POffo makes the save. Stevens tags in Bockwinkel and Bockwinkel locks on the Figure Four Leglock for the win. Tony Atlas vs. The Crusher - Big League Cup first round: Atlas takes the fight to the Crusher at the opening bell and quickly hits the press slam and splash. The Crusher kicks out but Atlas continues his assault and hits a second press slam and splash for the win to advance to the second round of the Big League Cup tournament. Magnum TA vs. Blackjack Mulligan - Big League Cup first round: Magnum TA defeats Blackjack Mulligan in less than a minute with the belly to belly suplex to advance to the second round of the Big League Cup tournament. A dejected Blackjack Mulligan left through the crowd. Tommy Rich vs. Freddie Blassie - Big League Cup first round: Rich hits the Thesz Press early on on Blassie for a near fall. Blassie recovers and rolls up Rich for a near fall. Blassie opens up a gusher on Rich's forehead with a bite and finishes off a blinded Rich with the Southern Neckbreaker to advance to the second round of the Big League Cup tournament. Bryan Danielson vs. Bob Roop- Big League Cup first round: Danielson and Roop chain wrestle for several minutes until Danielson gets the upper hand. Danielson tosses Roop to the outside and hits the suicide dive. Roop barely manages to beat the count back into the ring and Danielson locks on the guillotine choke, wearing Roop down. Danielson hits the top rope hurricanrana for a near fall and locks on the guillotine choke a second time. Roop escape the hold and Danielson transitions into the LeBell Lock for the win. Race & Hennig vs. The Killer Bees – National Tag Team title match: The Axe and Blair start the match. Hennig has Blair in trouble until the Bees switch places and Brunzell hits the Killer Dropkick for a near fall. Brunzell hits a second Killer Dropkick and tags in Blair. Blair locks on the Sleeper hold, wearing Hennig down. Hennig momentarily escapes and Blair locks on the Sleeper the second time. Blair clamps on the Boston Crab but Harley Race makes the save. As Race is leaving the ring, Brunzell dropkicks Race off the apron and the Bees hit the Bee Sting for the win! The Killer Bees are the Big League Wrestling National Tag Team champions! BLW 36 Finlay & Street vs. The Grappler & Rich Rude: Finlay and Grappler start the match. Finlay tags Adrian Street in after a few exchanges. Street hits the Crucifix for a near fall. The Grappler makes a comeback and drills Street with the loaded boot. Grappler tags in Rude and Rude quickly throws Street to the outside and gives him a Rude Awakening on the concrete, earning the count out victory.
Marty Jannetty vs. Ted DiBiase: DiBiase has things under control when Jannetty makes a comeback and hits the Rocker Dropper out of nowhere for the win.
Tony Atlas vs. Bryan Danielson - Big League Cup second round: Atlas and Danielson wrestle a give and take style match for the first few minutes until Atlas takes over and hits a jumping headbutt for a near fall. Danielson takes a drubbing and comes back with the LeBell Lock but Atlas makes it to the ropes. Danielson focuses his attack on Atlas and locks on the LeBell Lock two more times, holding on until the referee is threatening to disqualify him. Danielson hits a back superplex but Atlas kicks out!
Atlas goes on the offensive and hits his signature press slam and splash twice. Danielson is reeling and Atlas locks on a crushing full nelson. Danielson makes it to the ropes but is visibly favoring his neck. Atlas hits a big dropkick for a near fall. Danielson makes a comeback and locks on the guillotine choke but Atlas breaks the hold. Danielson blasts Atlas with a series of roundhouse kicks, knocking him to the mat. Danielson locks on the LeBell Lock for the win and advances to the Big League Cup finals.
Magnum TA vs. Freddie Blassie - Big League Cup second round: Blassie destroys Magnum TA, getting the quick win with the Southern Neckbreaker to advance to the Big League Cup finals.
Tommy Rich vs. Curt Hennig: Rich and Hennig battle back and forth. Hennig hits the HennigPlex early on for a near fall. Hennig scores another near fall with a standing dropkick. Hennig hits his signature hold a second time but Tommy Rich kicks out. The crowd rallies behind Rich and he makes a comeback, scoring a near fall with a piledriver. Rich hits the Thesz Press for a near fall and locks on the Wildfire Sleeper. Hennig backs Rich into the corner and breaks the hold. Rich locks on the Wildfire Sleeper a second time for the win.
Bryan Danielson vs. Freddie Blassie - Big League Cup finals: Danielson, visibly favoring his neck from the earlier match with Tony Atlas, is soon bleeding a gusher due to Blassie gnawing on his forehead. Blassie gnaws on Danielson's forehead a second time and spits blood into the crowd. Danielson surprises Blassie with a small package, electrifying the crowd. Danielson battles back and locks on the guillotine choke but the vampire makes it to the ropes. Blassie resorts to more illegal tactics and turns the match around. Blassie hits the Southern Neckbreaker to win the Big League Cup and a shot at Big League Wrestling National Heavyweight champion, Johnny Valentine.
