I'm not up on Riddle or the UFC, but having a new face like Riddle is pretty cool news... I was never a fan of Riddle as an MMA fighter. He got busted for having pot in his system after at least two fights and was rather boring in the cage, relying heavily on his wrestling and getting most of his wins by decision rather than finishing with a KO or submission. That said, he seems to be pretty passionate about pro wrestling so I will be interested to see what he brings to the table there. I'm more than willing to wipe the slate clean in my mind and let him prove himself in the ring. He has name value from his time in the UFC and on The Ultimate Fighter TV show and he's training at a top notch wrestling school. It's smart for EVOLVE to give him a chance and it would be kinda cool to get him in a future set. Maybe put him in the wrestling ring with Dan Severn or something.

Yeah I was reading about his controversial past and a clean slate is not a bad thing, look at the many wrestlers like Matt Sydal who use or used pot. A new face like his to pro wrestling is a good thing and Gabe Sapolsky knows his fresh faces, so we'll see where Riddle goes and a future card for him would be good too...

I don't really care if someone smokes weed or not. I don't myself and have no desire to but in MMA it is very clearly against the rules. Is it a good rule or bad rule? Doesn't matter. It is a rule. Similarly, current UFC fighter Nick Diaz just received a FIVE YEAR suspension from MMA for his third marijuana offense. He has other things going against him too but they were supposedly only basing their ruling on those three offenses. But, yeah, Matt Riddle the professional wrestler has a clean slate as far as I am concerned. And you are 100% correct that wrestling always needs new stars and if that is him, great!

EVOLVE 49 has Willie Mack, Matt Cage and Peter Kassa (who is one half of the Nuclear Kasserole tandem) on the show and Matt Riddle making his debut, I'm amp'd for that weekend...
Oh, I forgot Roppongi Vice are on the two shows...

I was wondering when Matt Cage was going move up to larger stage. Entertaining guy. Looking forward to see what he does for EVOLVE.

An interesting claim made by WWN:
"WWN has been a company where many of WWE's new generation of Superstars honed their craft and reached the next level of their career including current WWE Champion Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Neville, Cesaro, Kalisto, Kevin Owens and others."
I think the only ones listed that this would apply to are Kalisto and to a lesser extent, Neville. The rest were already well-established and/or spent only a short time in EVOLVE/DGUSA etc.
Sounds like Gabe is already starting to spout WWE-inspired propaganda (notice the capitalized 'Superstars'). Disappointing.

Disappointing. Well said. If EVOLVE fans find this to be a good deal, that is very scary. Shame they fail to pay any attention to what happened in OVW, or in any other inter-promotional dealings involving the WWE. The other side always loses, or at least never benefits.

I thought I had heard a while back that the negotiations had broken down between WWN and WWE. Was that not true?
