Preparations have begun…. And we patiently await the details. Would it be possible to put up a list of the past tournament winners? Anyway, really looking forward to what has become a nice tradition around these parts.

Thanks for the comments. Just breaking down my sets to create the stack of 64. Particulars will follow likely tomorrow. And yes, I will provide a brief synopsis of the past events.
Cannot wait to start the dice rolling.

Before we get to the action, a brief review of the previous years for those who may be checking out the tournament for the first time. The first tournament took place in 2011 with Bobo Brazil emerging as the victor defeating Killer Kowaski in the finals with a snake eyes roll to end their contest. Top seed Andre The Giant reached the finals in year two only to fall via submission to Nick Bockwinkel’s figure four leglock in another snake eyes finish (still one of my all-time favorite matches I have ever played). None of the top ten seeds were around for the finals in tournament V.3 as Road Warrior Hawk defeated Greg Valentine with another snake eyes roll to end the tournament. The fourth year featured an all Japanese finals as Antonio Inoki overcame his mentor Rikidozan to claim the victory. Last year, Inoki became the first two time winner of the tournament defeating Mil Mascaras in the finals. Inoki defeated Andre The Giant in the semi-finals on a snake eyes finish which was the second time in tournament history that Inoki cleanly beat The Giant (both with Snake Eyes)! As set out at the start of the 2015 tournament, the first round losers would not be invited back to compete in this year’s tournament. Some big names fell in the opening round. Winner of the first tournament Bobo Brazil is out as is the man he defeated to win the tournament, Killer Kowalski. Second year winner Nick Bockwinkel is out. Rikidozan has stopped Lou Thesz twice in tournament history and reached the finals once, but he will not be in this year’s draw. Top twenty seeds Frank Gotch and Terry Gordy will only be watching the action this year. Also out is the Macho Man Randy Savage who dropped a controversial disqualification decision in the opening round last year. Will Inoki continue his incredible run and claim a third consecutive tournament victory? Will Bruiser Brody be the force he was last year but push even deeper into the draw? Will this finally be the year that we get Andre The Giant v. Lou Thesz in the finals in a battle of the two top seeds? Or will someone come out of the lower seeds to claim glory? There will be plenty of new faces to watch and some returning favorites as well. As always, wagering is not encouraged but please feel free to make predictions along the way. (I usually wait until the round of 16 to pick the overall winner, but if you have the luck/skill of Count Necros you can try and pick a winner earlier) Action gets underway soon…

Looks like there are some big names not participating this year... This actually makes things more exciting, in my eyes... Maybe it will open the door for someone on a lower talent tier... Someone like The Mountie, maybe? Just sayin'...

Thanks for the recap of past winners. It would be something if Antonio Inoki can win a third straight tournament. I am also hoping for big things from Bruiser Brody and especially Andre the Giant. Andre has somewhat underperformed with his key losses (via snake eyes!) so hopefully he has a strong showing here. Also I want to throw in another vote for The Mountie, hoping to see Pariah get his main man in the tournament. I am really psyched for this to begin.
