Card 603 – Albireo Temple:
(Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad … Dreadnaught ... Massive ovation for Dreadnaught who speaks his mind with drama and flair and no interruptions. Dreadnaught says he is loving the FDF and tag wrestling. It is demanding feuding with both the Hitmen (primary feud) and Entropy (secondary feud) but he wants to be where the action is. Before he gets too old his goal is to capture the tag straps and win OTB which has been on his bucket list for quite a while now. Johnny probes for insider information on whether Dreadnaught and the other FDF members can truly ever fully trust one another given all the past heat. Things get a little bit tense but Dreadnaught says he never thinks or cares about the past. He finishes in a rousing note “My companions are the FDF. We share a common goal and at the moment I trust them. Scummy teams like Entropy and the Hitmen need sorting out. Krakan and Doomsayer represent the worst of the GWF and cannot ever be trusted. We are dedicated to taking them on by working together. Hopefully there is also a chance to capture some more titles. I feel Justice is a great partner and Retribution has potential but truth is I just want to wrestle til I drop”)
Tag champs, Superiority Complex, lost to the Mercenaries by DQ. Morpheus does not condone the challenge of the Mercenaries calling it a rude shock and probably the end of his alliance with Krakan. He is completely ruthless by attacking Soldier of Fortune outside causing the match to end with his team still holding the belts. Prodigy has a close call earlier in the match but manages to kick out after OPERATION: AMBUSH. More frustration for the Mercenaries who haven’t held the belts for a long, long time now. Krakan warns Morpheus that his team will be back to challenge them and next time he won’t be able to pull any stunts to save the belts
Heracles beats Draconian Sheik in a non-title match. Becoming a regular sub text to report Drac losing when the belt is not on line. Not that there was any lack of effort as he tried everything from sadistically using a sharp object and trying DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. He even managed to evade being pinned after Heracles collided into him with OLYMPIA. However when Heracles used his powerful arms to grab hold with a move he simply refers to as a Heracles Power Clamp there was no surviving. Lots of moaning on social media about Drac’s constant losses and the IP belt losing value. Reynard B. Guile responds by claiming everyone is jealous of his managerial prowess and the way he has guided Drac to gold and is also holding onto it
Spike overcame Vengeance in a match with Massif as the referee. Massif once again dusts off the climbing gear to put himself in the middle of the Civil War conflict. He manages to stop the Gladiators from leaving the ring keeping the action inside at all times. Spike gets a measure of revenge for his poor GALACTICON showing against Vengeance by unleashing MEGADESTROYER for the win and put more daylight between the Legends and the Vanguard team
Monad continues to make waves by beating Wolf with QUADRUPLE CLAMP. The offensive power of Monad is too much for anyone at the moment to handle. Everyone knows what his weaknesses are but it’s tough to even get enough advantage over it. Doomsayer brags nobody can stop Monad now that he has humbled a GWF legend. Wolf bites back by saying that Doomsayer’s team is lucky that his priority is the Gladiator Civil War otherwise he would be making him regret making such bold comments
Beast Riders defeated Cosmic Rangers after Terak uses a Cropper Slam on Astro Turk. The Cosmic Rangers lodged a complaint with the GWF the next day claiming they were cheated and officials were bribed. They were referencing the fact that Creeper had made a pin save for a Terak after they had managed to use METEOR SHOWER. They seem to forget pin saves are a common and accepted part of tag wrestling
Exo-King beat Death’s Head by DQ. Red hot battle that ends with Exo-King just about standing tall. He was left speechless after CORONATION CEREMONY failed to finish Death’s Head and made the mistake of trying it again straight after and missing it. He hurt himself badly in a fall outside the ring and was subjected to FUNERAL MARCH several times. It soon became clear that Death’s Head was aiming to maim the King rather than beat him after picking up a chair as the action drifted outside. The bell rang as soon as this happened but Exo-King left Death’s Head in a heap by blocking the blow with his sceptre prop and then smashing it over his head. He staggered away but seemed a little dazed asking where his throne was.
Card 604 – NETWORK DEIMOS WRESTLING – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Alpha Force beat Janus to win the Heavyweight belt. Alpha Force pulling out all the stops. The Citadel have made a few half hearted moves to weaken him ahead of the match but he is largely unscathed. A fantastic battle takes place with Omega thrilling the crowd by rolling back the years to floor Morpheus with a clothesline and curtail his interference. The path is clear as Alpha Force decks Janus with TOMAHAWK THRUST and wins the match. Unbelievable scenes on Deimos. Both members of the Gamemasters come out to celebrate with Star Warrior giving him a brotherly embrace and Thantos offering a handshake
Interplanetary champ, Draconian Sheik, lost to Holocaust by DQ. Holocaust looking to restore meaning to the IP belt which has devalued due to Drac’s regular non title losses and lack of defenses. Of course being in the shadow of the Civil War doesn’t help with even the prized Heavyweight belt taking second billing to that. Drac comes to the ring eating paper. It must be difficult to digest as he is dominated by Holocaust who fights valiantly. Trouble is he gets suckered into a brawl out on the floor by the snivelling Reynard B. Guile which leads to the inevitable wild behaviour of Drac. The ref tries to let as much go as he can but when a drinks tray on the announcer’s table goes flying and showers several ring staff it’s the final straw
Torture Chamber match, Spike batters Killing Machine. He uses MEGADESTROYER three times to stop the big man. The Legends are unstoppable but word is the performances of each Gladiator team will be closely scrutinised at the upcoming OTB and hold huge influence over Thakur and his war cabinet
Wolf beat Vengeance in a match with no-one allowed at ringside. Wolf wins an out of ring brawl and follows it up with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Vengeance is wounded by the defeat and lashes out at the Legends saying all their wins so far this year mean nothing “We will show at OTB and also next year that the Vanguard is the future of Aethra in the GWF. Once we have had a year of experience under our belts there will be no stopping us”
Jack of Diamonds beat Chopper Mattock by DQ. Two tag specialists serve up fantastic singles action
Monad beats Justice by DQ. Something we’ve seen before as Monad is hopeless on defense and needs outside assistance from Tendron to stay in the match. That being said Justice walks a similar tightrope finding himself on the end of DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE and QUADRUPLE CLAMP during the match. It’s an interesting tussle that Justice ends up losing as he feels threatened outside the ring by an advancing Tendron and arms himself with a weapon given to him by Commander Sam
Gamemasters beat Demons of Hydra. Little bit of rulebending by the heroes. Thantos gets taken out by THE FINAL ORACLE. Seeing his partner in trouble Star Warrior comes into the ring which brings Hydra into the ring too. The ref tries to clear the mess and ushers Hydra back. The moment allows the Gamemasters to blast Demon with a big double team move and reverse the pinning attempt and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat
Hoods of Death inflict defeat on Titan Wrestling. Pharoah Khety flounders in the ring as the Titans dominate but all that changes once he gets the hot tag. Bishop Hell is on ‘fire’ and scorches Lord Nexus with HELLFIRE to give the Hooded duo the win. He then taunts Lord Nexus by suggesting the Titan needs to put into an old folks home and that he is an embarrassment to his team.

GWF REPORT (CIVIL WAR 2099 CARDS 601 - 604)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Alpha Force (Top Contender: Pegasus) * GWF Tag Champs: Superiority Complex (Top Contenders: the Mercenaries) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Draconian Sheik (Top Contender: Holocaust)
Latest News:
Mega scenes of jubilation on Deimos as Alpha Force wins the Heavyweight strap. An incredible transformation after the lows of 2098. The high point of the match against Janus was when Omega (who has been showing up at ringside with his son more and more) rolled up his sleeves and took Morpheus out with a clothesline. Alpha Force says he is ready for his first challenge which will be a stiff test against Pegasus who beats the likes of the Matador and Enigma to the top contender spot.
Magnus Colby seems to of tired of messing about with Vanity and released him from his humiliating contract with COLBY COSTUMES (and dissolved the company leaving many people out of work). Colby has now disappeared from the public eye. We wonder how long will it be until we see the likes of him again. Vanity is relieved and is starting to stretch his legs with even more glamorous attire than he has ever worn before. He says now he can also get back to being the greatest wrestler in the galaxy again.
The latest GWF documentary goes on air called THE ROYAL TOIL. Filming has centred on the history of the King’s Court and their current plight in the GWF. The unexpected success of the Royal Blood in the last couple of years made them a popular choice. Exo-King is relieved it’s all over as it has been a very demanding thing for his team. Defender of the Realm has provided plenty of outtakes with his unpredictable behaviour. In one deleted scene that was leaked into social media he is seen wrestling alone in the ring against an imaginary opponent called the Bad Jester. It was alarming to watch but what was even more alarming was that the Defender took a total pummelling and lost the match! The Collector said (off the record) “his mind is mostly gone. We just let him do his own thing these days”.
OTB is next. So many wrestlers and teams in contention to compete that Commissioner Carter has arranged some untelevised cards at the Deimos Arena as OTB qualifiers. He wants to mark the 25th anniversary of the GWF with an extra special event forcing everyone to qualify. The Gladiators will be competing. They see OTB as a massive thing on Aethra and part of the reason Brute and Massacre have lost favour and are in this Civil War predicament is because they have never won it. One major name missing is the Matador. He doesn’t want to be in the hardcore bracket. Both Janus and Chaos are ranked higher and no team is allowed more than two qualifying members in any bracket. Quietly he will be stewing. This time last year he was the hottest thing in wrestling but since his record breaking belt run he has been largely discarded by Morpheus in favour of his other stars. He was also recently used as a roadblock to help protect Janus against Alpha Force which was demeaning for this hall of famer. Killer Queen makes a surprise bow in the cage tournament. He is building on his success in cage matches against Vanity. Cannibal misses the cage tournament through injury. That’s a big omission as he would of been one of the favourites to win. Instead he sends Death’s Head and Mutant to represent the Renegades. Can anyone break Wolf’s hardcore run? His big hardcore rival Mayhem will be pulling out all the stops to beat him. It’s the biggest OTB ever with 64 wrestlers competing across the three brackets. It’s almost the entire roster. The draw for the qualifiers are seeded but at OTB pairings will be randomised. All singles and tag qualifiers will be regular bouts with DQs possible.
Civil War latest is that the Legends have a commanding lead. The Vanguard need a big turnaround. Already the arrival of Overkill next year is pivotal with a proper tag team a must. Deadly Challenge has so far flopped in their matches with Thunder struggling. A big showing at OTB can help the Vanguard.
WHOSE HOT - Alpha Force, Monad, the Creeper, Spike, Pegasus, Enigma, the Mercenaries WHOSE NOT - Raven, Janus, Draconian Sheik, Vengeance, Deadly Challenge INJURED – Cannibal (2); Killing Machine (4); SUSPENDED – none
Wrestler of the Month: ALPHA FORCE - Stunning comeback from the brink of despair in 2098. Stripped of his powers he shows what we all suspected and hoped. That he is still a great wrestler capable of winning belts.
Tag Team of the Month: THE MERCENARIES - Three televised wins to bulldoze their way into the top contenders spot. Dominating their feud with Retribution and hot favourites to become the next tag team champs.

Dark Matches - OTB QUALIFIERS 1 - Deimos IG Arena:
OTB Hardcore:
Wolf makes safe passage with a hard earned win over an out onf control Mutant. Once again his famed SAVAGE FACE CLAW paved a way to victory. Very few upsets in this early stage
Mayhem quickly despatches Killer Queen. In a very fast match Mayhem fails with DANGER ZONE, misses a deathjump and then gets out the way of one of Queenie’s. Amazing that so much action got packed into a match that barely went over the minute mark
Splatter knocks out Vyper literally. Battle between two hardcore icons ends with Splatter flooring Vyper with MEET ARSENAL
Vengeance overcomes Wildcat after EYE CLEAVER
Holocaust scraped past Marcel de Sade with SHOCKWAVE. Marcel de Sade comes close to an upset as he tests Holocaust tolerance for pain with THUMBSCREW and makes numerous escape attempts
Kati defeated Draconian Sheik. Drac’s hopes goes up in smoke as he falls at the first hurdle and doesn’t make it to OTB. Kati batters him and puts 8 tokens on him by the end. The crazed Sheik fights on instinct and survives SAMOAN REVENGE twice and even rallies briefly with DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER but Kati looks very strong inside a cage and eventually uses a cage smash to win
Heracles crushes Death’s Head. Heracles usually has trouble with Death’s Head spiteful ghoulish style but this time makes much lighter work. Match reaches barely more than a minute as Heracles floors Death’s Head and nails a big leg drop then scoops him up ready for OLYMPIA. He repeats the move and is able to make a nonchalant escape
Monad easily handles the Creeper swatting his attacks away easily with his four arms and unleashing devastating offense.
Dark Matches - OTB QUALIFIERS 2 - Deimos IG Arena:
OTB Tag:
Superiority Complex beats Asylum but are far from convincing. Prodigy is the weak link struggling with Psycho’s size. They ride out some hairy moments and eventually Skinhead gets Psycho with BAD ATTITUDE
Royal Blood defeated the Zodiac after DIAMOND CUT finishes Mesmer but they are made to work hard. Exo-King in the thick of it taking some bloody punishment and having to kick out after SIGN OF THE ZODIAC and then getting in trouble as he missed CORONATION CEREMONY. The move is becoming a liability as he is missing it more than he hits it in recent matches. Fortunately his son, Jack, was in hot form and brings the match back in their favour. Royal Blood relieved to make OTB and dreaming of another good run
The Mercenaries overcome Titan Wrestling. Cracking grudge match fought out under the OTB banner. Krakan stays at ringside and spends much of the match in Trainer Jim’s face even grabbing Jim’s trademark towel and wiping it across his backside. Jim keeps his cool despite the vile gesture. His calmness and coaching methods seem to have a good effect as Ursa Major gets great momentum against Soldier of Fortune only to miss a flying leap off the turnbuckle which allows SOF to counter it and steal the pin
Deadly Challenge beat the Gamemasters by DQ. Huge setback for the Gamemasters. Star Warrior is thrown from the ring continuously by Killing Machine and in his frustration grabs him by the legs and drags him out. The referee had tried to come between them got knocked over in the process. Jeers ring out as the Gamemasters get harshly punished. Thantos is enraged and blows off steam by attacking the celebrating Gladiators triggering a brawl that takes some breaking up. There is a score to settle between the teams now
Retribution scrapes past Hoods of Death by DQ after Bishop Hell used HELLFIRE on Dreadnaught but got caught in the act
Pillars of Power upset New Order after ELONGATION on Mace. New Order pledges on social media prior to the match that they will win OTB and kickstart their tag fortunes again but are left with egg on their face. Generation X jumps on their posting and bombards them with derogatory replies which only get worse after the shock outcome. The whole post gets millions of views and gets taken down as things spiral out of control
Demons of Hydra beat Brute and Massacre by DQ. Massive blow for the Gladiator Legends as they are below par and Massacre loses composure grappling with Darkos outside. Darkos ends up in a heap across the ring announcer’s table. The failure resonates back on Aethra
Generation X get past Titan Express as Dragonmaster falls to Grunge’s KILLER AIR GUITAR.
Dark Matches - OTB QUALIFIERS 3 - Deimos IG Arena:
(There is a nervous edge to the wrestlers tonight. With DQs in play many are leaving their managers behind to cut the risk. Everyone is desperate to make OTB and do not want to jeopardise their chances having seen major tag teams suffer this fate. Chaos even promises to cut out all rulebreaking entirely)
OTB Singles:
Alpha Force strolls to victory over Vanity finishing him with TOMAHAWK THRUST
Chaos manhandles Stalker after squeezing the air out of him with BOW OF DEFEAT. Good effort by Stalker who has fought off large beasts in the wild but the immense size and talent of Chaos is just too much even for his jungle attacks
Janus overcame Quasar with GORDION KNOT. Past heat between these two comes bubbling to the surface as they wrestle an intense battle which Janus eventually wins. OTB disaster for the Titans as not a single member has made it
Ram defeated Colussus in a big upset. Exciting match with swinging momentum and RAM CHARGE becoming a big part of it. Initially Ram uses it and the crowd breathes a sigh of relief as Colussus just about evades being pinned. Later with Colussus on top he tries to mimic the move but gets it all wrong and misses it. This gives Ram back a control that he doesn’t again relinquish and he shows Colussus how it’s done by nailing the move perfectly to seal the win
Raven wins a thrilling battle over Darkos with BROADSWORD. Raven is one of the most successful guys in the short history of OTB and is going for a third triumph in the event. He is dedicating his efforts to Destructon 3000 who he calls the best manager in the GWF. Comments made to a raft of wrestling journalists show praise “he deserves so much credit for the way he formed our group and helped defeat the Gladiators and start their Civil War. We may be struggling a bit now but that’s only because the standards we have set are so high and that is down to him”
Doomsayer shocks Spike with a fast victory. Spike got hurt missing a turnbuckle smash and went flying outside. Doomsayer moves quickly to pitch him back in the ring and hit FUTURESHOCK to win. The outcome means only Wolf carrying the OTB banner for the Gladiator Legends
US. Patriot easily beats Enigma with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST but then falls victim to a brutal lottery attack. Splatter takes advantage of Commander Sam not being at ringside to batter Adam. It’s a bloody attack that goes on for a minute before Splatter is pulled away
Pegasus and Defender of the Realm wrestle a double DQ. Defender giggles as ringside stuff flies in all directions. Outcome casts doubt on who will fill the space at OTB.
Dark Matches - Deimos IG Arena:
Titan Express beat Chaos and Cannibal. Titans beat the unusual villain pairing. Pulsar Prime doing well to survive a beating in the ring from Chaos and then take advantage of Cannibal being slightly injured. He uses SOLAR STRAIN on Cannibal for a morale boosting win. Chaos mocks the pathetic Titans by claiming this was the biggest win in their history whilst he doesn’t care and has far greater prizes to shoot for. For daring to try and make him look small he will be asking Morpheus to use the influence he has in the villain pact and send both Brotherhood tag teams after Titan Express
Thunder wins a gruelling battle with Mutant after THUNDERCLAP
Star Warrior beats the injured Killing Machine. Star Warrior staves off the early ferocious power attacks and uses a flying leap off the top rope to sweep Killing Machine off his feet and grab the pin
Massacre pinned Darkos after THE CLEANSING. Grudge match as Massacre blames Darkos for ruining the fruitless Gladiator pursuit of OTB tag glory. He certainly teaches Darkos a lesson
Hoods of Death defeated New Order after Bishop Hell uses FLYING CROSS on Mace. New Order in the doldrums
Cosmic Rangers beat the Mercenaries by DQ. The Mercenaries warming up for OTB by viciously savaging the Cosmic Rangers. Krakan doesn’t call it an embarrassing loss as they were practising for the anything goes Titan Death matches that lie ahead. Cosmic Rangers don’t see it that way and call the win the biggest moment of their career and proof they are one of the top teams in the GWF. They schedule an open training camp so that their fans can come along to watch and learn from them. Only three people show up!

***BREAKING NEWS***
Both US. Patriot (injured 8 cards) and Splatter (suspended 4 cards) are out of OTB after the violent lottery attack. Commander Sam fumes that his big hope has been knocked out of the tournament and immediately re-labels his group as an independent team fighting for that spot against the Hitmen. He says there is only room for one team like this and it will be the FDF. Krakan better watch his back because we won’t be pushed around. Rumours that Sam is also considering a lottery style of attacks against the villain wrestlers called ‘Sam’s Fury’. Omega steps in and says he doesn’t think Commander Sam will be doing that as it would be stooping to their level. Sam plants some interesting seeds as he quickly fires a shot back saying Omega is not his boss and does not manage or speak for the FDF. There is also a spot to be filled in the singles bracket due to the Defender-Pegasus match ending in double DQ. As it is too late to schedule additional qualifiers Commissioner Carter has given wildcard entries to Colussus, Stalker (singles) and Draconian Sheik (hardcore). The choices cause some grumbling as most people wanted to see the Matador inserted into the tournament but Carter is adamant that with two Citadel members already in the singles bracket it would give the team an unfair advantage. The inclusion of Colussus was also something Carter pushed for and was secretly glad the opportunity presented itself. He knows Colussus has plenty of juice and drawing power to help ensure the event is a sell out. It’s a reminder that the GWF is a business and still needs to keep the investors happy by filling the arenas and ensuring they continue to receive their large dividends. Reynard B. Guile is also bragging over the second chance being given to Draconian Sheik and hypocritically proclaims Kati (who defeated Drac) as a primitive who doesn’t deserve his place in the hardcore tournament. Wouldn’t it be a turn up if they get drawn out the hat to face each other again!
Krakan is also making big noises saying that he has a surprise in store for Morpheus which will only be revealed during the tournament. There is lots of head scratching as to what that could be meaning.
Huge decision from Thakur to turn the upcoming match between Mayhem and Spike into a Torture Chamber Match directly before OTB. Mayhem risking his chances at the event but he doesn’t care “I love spilling blood in these matches and Thakur wants to put us through all sorts of tests. Bring it on!”
Card 605 – Callisto Centroplex:
Torture Chamber Match - Spike destroys Mayhem with MEGADESTROYER leading to the eventual collapse of Mayhem. The Vanguard had been hoping for a turning point or else hopes heavily pinned on OTB but Mayhem struggles to lay a glove on Spike in a long drawn out battering
6 Man Tag - Royal Court defeated the Renegades. Cannibal back in action (albeit still hurting) but it’s too late for OTB having missed the qualifiers. He is also unable to prevent his band of misfits falling to defeat as Defender of the Realm goes crazy against Mutant and pins it after DEFENDER CANNON
Matador of M83 barely breaks a sweat beating Colussus with BULLWHIP. Colussus is a late replacement for the injured US. Patriot. Big statement from the Matador who receives a massive rankings boost from the win. But it was the manner of victory that makes the biggest impression
Hitman Match, Dreadnaught beat Vigilante in an awesome battle to collect the bounty. Both racking up the tokens as they peppered each other with their finishers. In the end it was one of Dreadnaught’s lesser moves, a torpedo launch, that paved the way to victory
Cage Match, Killer Queen beat Vanity after WARP SPEED. Vanity may of rediscovered his style but he is still petrified of the cage bars. Any bravado he had quickly perishes and he is quickly beaten
Match between Thantos and Thunder ends in double DQ. Everyone had looked forward to a classic battle of experience against youth so the outcome was dissapointing. Thantos annoyed he didn’t keep a cooler head and allowed himself to get sucked into an all out brawl.

Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad … Defender of the Realm
Edgy interview as Defender comes out and looks into the crowd trying to see their reactions. Everyone knows the Defender is facing some inner demons. Some are hostile but there is quite a bit of sympathy for him too. He walks around the studio carefully looking around. Johnny invites him to sit and he fidgets uncomfortably as Johnny starts the questioning. Here are some of the highlights.
Johnny Rocket: “Welcome to the Launching Pad. We all know that you have been having some issues. I cannot imagine how difficult that can be for your team. Can you tell us how things are the moment?”
Defender: “There is nothing wrong with me. Who told you so? Is it that lying Collector? I’m perfectly normal and completely focused on feuding with the Renegades and of course I will never rest until Bishop Hell is run out of the GWF. Yes, me and Bishop Hell might go out running together, ha, ha”
(Those baffling comments are then followed up with more moronic behaviour as he holds a mirror and starts laughing as he sees the Mad Jester staring back at him before coming back to his senses. He then offers Johnny a box and challenges him to crack the code. Johnny hesitatingly takes hold of it)
Defender: (giggling) “Try it. Don’t be scared. It’s perfectly safe. Nothing will jump out or explode”.
Johnny Rocket: “ I am tired of the nonsense. Either get serious on the interview or leave the set.”
Defender: (snatches the mic) “Ok. You want serious. How about we criticise the Collector’s management style. I don’t respect that fool. I will only follow Exo-King. He is the true leader of the King’s Court. The Collector is a suffocating old codger devoid of any sense of humour. I put a whoopee cushion under his chair at a team building dinner when we dined at the Star Traveller. Everyone laughed but the old bogey went crazy and made me pay my own bill. I’ve got no respect for the fella.”
The crowd didn’t know how to react to the antics but there were some scattered boos. Defender picked up the mirror again to “talk to Mad Jester” but looks aghast when he sees Cannibal appear in the image behind him. This time it’s not a hallucination and Mad Jester seems to sober out of his clowning state.
Cannibal: “I am not here to create any problems. I like your craziness. You’ll fit in well with the Renegades. Why don’t you join us?”
Defender arms himself with a studio chair causing Cannibal to back away. Johnny is screaming at them to cool down and warns there better not to be any trouble.
Cannibal: “Think about it. You’ve got a screw loose but so have all of us. You’ll do very well in the Renegades without that old relic spoiling your fun”
Cannibal moves away keeping eyes firmy fixed on a perplexed Defender. The incident creates a talking point.

Card 606 – ONLY THE BEST (Hardcore) – Triton Pavillion:
Added attraction, Heavyweight champ, Alpha Force, lost to Pegasus by DQ. Cassandra ditches Pegasus on the biggest night of his life. Pegasus refuses to mention her pre match and says he is soon to become the first champ with ‘flex appeal’. The crowd is on it’s feet as Omega comes out. They still love seeing him even though ringside appearances are sporadic. Alpha Force also gets a pop as he is back in their hearts. Omega keeps a patrolling eye out for the Citadel trying to rumble. Instead Draconian Sheik rampages Pegasus under orders as part of a plan by B. Guile to keep the top belt off Pegasus
First Round:
Draconian Sheik knocks out Kati, Drac replaces Splatter. It means Kati has to face him again in a repeat of their qualifier. The hatred Kati (and indeed the crowd) has for B. Guile is swelling ever since he and his people were described as primitives. B. Guile calls the criticism a witch hunt. The scene is set and it’s a bloody battle. Both wrestlers seem agitated by the cage which seems to be making a hissing sound every time one of them gets too close. But it doesn’t stop them going tearing into each other. Kati tries SAMOAN REVENGE three times in total but the animal instinct of Drac (and weak escape attempts) keeps him in the match. In between persistent sadistic use of a sharp object is wearing Kati down. It probably plays a major factor in the climax as Kati tries to charge Drac and misses meaning impact face first into the side of the cage. The bars fizz as he makes contact. Kati tries to get up but wobbles and then just falls unconscious with his hairs standing on end. Drac is confused but Reynard B. Guile runs to ringside and coaxes him into climbing out thus securing the win (quickly leaps back off before trying again and successfully scaling it). Medics try to attend to Drac who has burns to his hands as a result of the escape but he is just too dangerous to treat. Something odd has happened to cause these injuries
Heracles crushes Mayhem. It was obvious that Mayhem was injured from the Torture Chamber pummelling he received at the hands of Spike. Heracles charges him with OLYMPIA which sends Mayhem backwards into the cage. Mayhem is all tangled up in the ropes against the side and is unable to mount any attempt to stop Heracles leaving the cage
Wolf overcame Monad. Wolf is in hot hardcore form but has difficulty finishing the match. He makes numerous escape attempts after some devastating moves and several goes with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Monad uses his four arms to great effect to stop the escapes by reaching through the bars with two arms to stop Wolf whilst pulling him back up with the other two. Wolf doesn’t get frustrated and keeps on going. The only way he knows he can win is to knock Monad clean out which he does as Monad accumulates an 8th token after a vicious flying knee drop. Would have to check the records but this might just be Monad’s first clean loss
Vengeance beat Holocaust after a Torture Grip. Holocaust shows a gallant effort coming through barbaric moves like Eye Cleaver and LETHAL CATAPULT but Vengeance is too cunning in the cage for him. It sets up a massive Civil War match between Wolf and Vengeance;
Second Round:
Heracles goes over Draconian Sheik. Reynard B. Guile getting under everyone’s skin. Managers are not allowed at ringside but he still shows up as a nuisance but Drac is too damaged from earlier and has taped hands. Heracles makes short work and turns OLYMPIA into the most effective move of the tournament as it seals the win. He then catches B. Guile unaware (busy arguing with officials), tears his trousers off and then hurls him down the aisle bending his top hat in the process
Wolf goes wild and beats Vengeance. What a draw to pit the Gladiators against each other. Wolf gets the better of it after SAVAGE FACE CLAW to keep his incredible OTB Hardcore run going.
Final:
Wolf wins the Hardcore tournament by beating Heracles. Tense build up. They have respect for eachother but in the heat of the battle things get a bit frantic. There is a lot at stake. Wolf slips into a heel role for the match. Worried about the superior power of Heracles he decides to move fast. He furiously pounds Heracles and locks on SAVAGE FACE CLAW but it is too early. In a show of strength Heracles removes Wolf’s grip. Trying for a new angle Wolf starts to use the cage bars to his advantage and nips up on the sides. Heracles moves to grab him but Wolf athletically turns and leaps. Heracles is badly winded. Seizing the moment Wolf makes an escape before Heracles can come to his senses to win OTB again. An unbelievable achievement as Wolf continues his domination of this trophy.
Card 607 – ONLY THE BEST (Tag) – Triton Pavillion:
Added attraction, Interplanetary Title Match, Holocaust defeated Draconian Sheik to regain the belt. There were fears for what Drac was going to do as he fiddles with a sharp object. The ref gets admiring reviews for the way he handled the situation. He saw Drac use it but instead of doing exactly what Reynard B. Guile wanted and disqualifying Drac he confiscates the weapon and forces the match to continue after observing Holocaust wasn’t hurt. Drac seems confused and gets caught cold by a Missile Shot ending his title run. Relief because Drac has been one of the worst champions ever
First Round:
The Mercenaries easily beats Royal Blood after Jack is on the end of Vigilante’s POLICE BRUTALITY. Hopes perish under a venomous beating. Exo-King is irritated the pre match subject centres on the mind of the Defender who is scheduled to appear on the Launching Pad later rather than the Royal Blood. He merely says that the Defender has his full backing and then shuts down the questioning. Perhaps the problems continued to play on their minds as the Royal Blood’s OTB hopes soon perish in the wake of a venomous best in
Deadly Challenge overcome Demons of Hydra in a tough battle with Thunder using THUNDERCLAP to finish off Demon. Hydra’s attempt at a last ditch pin save fails miserably and hastens his team’s downfall. Deadly Challenge carrying the Aethran flag despite the pressure of Civil War. For now the Vanguard has the bragging rights over the Legends which has been a rare thing during the Gladiator feud
Pillars of Power upset Retribution. Dreadnaught has been in dynamic form and predicts a good run in the tournament for his team. He pays Commander Sam a big compliment by saying he has been reborn under his guidance in the GWF. In a massive mark of respect Dreadnaught carries an American flag to the ring and salutes it. There is a feel good factor about the FDF and hopes are high for a swift victory but things go horribly wrong. Retribution is misfiring and struggle to stay on offence with the Pillars frustrating them and shutting down their attacks. Dreadnaught gets angry with himself and let’s his guard down allowing Chopper Mattock to takeover and use BATTLE AXE for a stunning victory
Superiority Complex defeated Generation X. Tough match but the Superiority Complex continue to prove they are one of the greatest tag teams in GWF history. Even when in trouble after failing with THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER and then Skinhead badly missing a top rope move to leave Grunge dangerously bearing down on him he wriggles out of the predicament. They fight back to progress as Skinhead puts Metalhead away with BAD ATTITUDE. Controversy breaks in the aftermath as Krakan shows OTB officials documents where Morpheus had failed to pay the entry fee for his team and Superiority Complex are immediately thrown out of the tournament. There is very little sympathy for Morpheus as memories of what happened in the OTB singles bracket last year come flooding back. This was the Citadel getting what they deserved
Second Round:
Deadly Challenge overcome the Mercenaries. Remembering Killing Machine is still carrying a nagging injury it is remarkable how he is fighting through it. The match is particularly draining with whoever won probably at a disadvantage for the final. In the end after many near misses for both teams Thunder defies the greater size of Soldier of Fortune to nail him with a Gladiator Piledriver and pin him. Big bragging rights for the Vanguard team over the Legends now
Pillars of Power beats Generation X to make a surprise march to the final. At first it looked like Generation X would grab their second chance and canter as Metalhead was picking off both Pillars but when they failed with THE SOUND OF MUSIC following a pin save there was a sense it wouldn’t be their night. Even though a similar pin save helped Metalhead to avoid defeat to BATTLE AXE he soon submitted to ELONGATION. So it’s going to be Deadly Challenge against the Pillars in the final. Who’d of thought it!
Final:
Deadly Challenge defeated Pillars of Power to win OTB. Killing Machine uses ZERO HOUR on Dynamo. It’s a great moment for the team but looks like Thakur, who came into the ring, was hogging the glory as he preached to the crowd. “This is a timely reminder to the galaxy of Aethran Supremacy” as he holds aloft the trophy. Thunder looks a little aggrieved as Thakur clutches the trophy not even allowing him to touch it. He manages to bite his tongue as he knows challenging the authority of Thakur could result in harsh punishment (similar to what happens on Aethra to criminals).

Card 608 – ONLY THE BEST (Singles) – Triton Pavillion:
Added attraction, Tag champs, Superiority Complex, stroll to victory over the Mercenaries. Krakan craves the tag gold bad he tears up the pact and to make an enemy of Morpheus. The OTB drama makes the meeting even more sour. At the last minute Commissioner Carter pulls some strings to get both managers banned citing escalating tensions and the recent glut of DQ outcomes whenever the teams meet. Krakan efforts blow up in his face as the Mercenaries fail miserably and lose in mere minutes. Superiority Complex puts the recent controversy behind them and assert their ‘superiority’. Skinhead drives the team forward beating Vigilante with BAD ATTITUDE to end the weak challenge of the Mercenaries. Krakan threatens that his team will be back for the belts in the near future but realistically he could be waiting a while as they now fall behind many teams in the tag pecking order;
First Round:
Janus is too good for Stalker. The Jungle Man tries his best but Janus has an answer for almost everything he attempts and pins him after a Cosmic Romp
Alpha Force eliminates Doomsayer with a solid performance. Doomsayer relies on power but the athletic ability of Alpha Force catches him out as he is thrown towards the ropes and comes back with an eye catching sunset flip. The element of surprise leads to the pin
Colussus raises the roof as he beats Chaos again thanks to CYBORG DEATHBLOW. Chaos can’t get losing the Heavyweight belt to Colussus out of his head and pursues revenge but finds Colussus in hot form. Chaos becomes frustrated as most of the big moves he executes land on the robotic side of Colussus and have little impact. Nevertheless he works a position to latch on BOW OF DEFEAT. Guts and desire from Colussus as he breaks out of the move and rocks Chaos. He then wrestles smart and puts his superior agility to perfect effect. It’s a hard slog but with Chaos down and struggling he smashes his finisher and to the pleasant surprise of the entire Pavillion gets the win
Raven marches past Ram via BROADSWORD. The Brotherhood looking to make great strides and it’s an important match for Ram as he looks to prove his singles credentials. Unfortunately he makes a lousy job of his big break. He does well to kick out after BLADERUNNER but the move takes it’s toll. Even when he gets a brief period on top and tries RAM CHARGE it is clumsily attempted and Ram misses by a mile and flies out of the ring. There’s no coming back and Raven is soon putting the finishing touches on a masterful performance. Raven is confident and says winning the singles bracket can help to dispel the dark clouds gathering over the WAR team;
Second Round:
Alpha Force goes past Janus. Continuing his resurgent year Alpha Force does the job on Janus. Alpha Force absorbs some early attacks and then counters by clasping an Indian Death Lock which yields a surprise easy submission. The Citadel domination of OTB has been interrupted and it’s now guaranteed a hero wrestler will win with the Champions holding a very strong chance with two guys left
Colussus defeated Raven to setup an all Champions final. Two heroes wrestle each other hard. Raven eyeing a third OTB triumph and Colussus still trying to mark himself as major star (so far much better in 2099 and a cert to win most improved wrestler). The match stays clean and is a genuine wrestling match which is refreshing. The outcome hangs in the balance for a long time but Colussus is better at taking punishment. He stuns Raven with his own version of BLADERUNNER. Initially it doesn’t bring the curtain down but Colussus hits the move again and it puts Raven on the deck long enough to pin him. Raven is dissapointed at losing but wishes Colussus luck for the final;
Final:
Colussus is top dog as he beats Alpha Force in a one-sided final. He makes the most of his wildcard entry (he lost to Ram in the qualifiers but was given another chance). The sporting side of the match is obvious as Alpha Force has chances to roll out the ring for a breather under heavy bombardment but chooses not to. It is soon clear it is going to be Colussus’s big night. Nothing is going to stop him. He unleashes TOMAHAWK THRUST not once but twice and Alpha Force falls to the signature Champions team move. Striking visuals as Colussus holds up the trophy with fireworks going off. His comrades come out to join him in a terrific scene. Omega’s team have been the stars of OTB having dominated the singles and also seen Heracles reach the final of the hardcore bracket. Only the Gamemasters came up short. Omega says the hero success shows the villain pact in 2099 has failed!

GWF REPORT (CIVIL WAR 2099 CARDS 605 - 608)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Alpha Force (Top Contender: Pegasus) * GWF Tag Champs: Superiority Complex (Top Contenders: Titan Express) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Holocaust (Top Contender: Ram)
Latest News:
OTB in review - the event never fails to dissapoint. Providing the usual sprinkling of great matches. Overall Commissioner Carter is delighted at the tournament’s success but expresses regret over a couple of issues (more below). There was bitterness towards Colussus from Chaos. He says that Colussus is just babysitting the trophy til next year and should not be listed as a tournament winner in the record books having lost in the qualifiers. Chaos gets admonished by GWF hierarchy for even going so far as to suggest the tournament was rigged in favour of the Champions team. Technical gremlins blighted the hardcore tournament as the cage bars got electrified during the Kati-Splatter match. The GWF have been considering a new special match with juiced up cage bars and were testing things out before the event. Someone forgot to switch them off. The event organiser brushed off the incident as a ‘glitch in the matrix’. Don’t think Kati will be quite so keen to just brush off the glitch as it cost him the match. There were surprise early eliminations for several high profile names and teams that failed miserably were the Fighting Titans and Gladiator Legends. Trainer Jim gives a very honest assessment of the Titans admitting “we lacked aggression and just weren’t good enough”. The controversial expulsion of the Superiority Complex was a major talking point as Krakan made a fool of Morpheus. In terms of the Gladiator Civil War the poor performance for the Legends team is very damaging. They may be currently dominating the feud against the Vanguard but their efforts outside of the Civil War continues to drive Thakur to the depths of despair. He is hopping mad with the Legends and more impressed with the Vanguard team who made much greater strides in the tournaments with Deadly Challenge doing something Brute and Massacre could never do on their first attempt and that was winning the tag bracket. Only Wolf emerged with any honour by continuing his domination of the Hardcore bracket but deep down Thakur doesn’t care for his performances as he is not a pure Aethran.
Pegasus is getting his ear chewed by Cassandra. Still smarting from ill treatment earlier in the year she is now wanting to move onto a new chapter in her life and spend more time with the muscular Dynamo. Pegasus wants her to only be his valet and believes he has more sex appeal than anyone else in the GWF. He also cannot believe she doesn’t want the chance to be his babe and hang off the arm of a potential Heavyweight champion (he is still the top contender). At the moment Cassandra is digging her heels in, not returning calls and reacting with refusals to be at ringside during his matches.
Destructon 3000 asks his friend, Commander Sam, for assistance in curtailing Monad. His team is struggling and under scrutiny. WAR need to lift their spirits and Sam is happy to help out as he sees the FDF as an ‘independent’ hero team fighting for the greater cause. They do have their own feuds but Sam is confident they will not get bogged down. Even though US. Patriot is carrying an injury Sam says Adam (who was gutted to miss OTB) is ready to wrestle through the discomfort and return to action. “We are ready and willing to help our friends. Dreadnaught will be the first help them out” shouts Sam.
Speaking of independent teams. Krakan has announced the Hitmen have returned to that status. The villain pact remains among the other teams as they continue to work together and allow Morpheus to lead their feuds but Krakan says he cannot work with him or any Citadel member any longer. His team is back to being available for hire contracts. Interesting that Morpheus was so dismayed by the actions of Omega several weeks ago that led to Janus losing the Heavyweight belt he wanted to then hire the Hitmen to injure members of the Champions team but Krakan told him where to go. Krakan says he will now make services available to anyone but Morpheus (for now)! The move by Krakan has left everyone worriedly looking over their shoulder. More worryingly the lottery is back full time after a long hiatus and can happen to anyone (apart from the Gladiators). Splatter has already served up a reminder of it’s potency by battering US. Patriot. The violent attack cost them both their spots on OTB but Splatter did not care as he has missed dishing out the bloody carnage for so long. Krakan made sure the Citadel also suffered damage as Superiority Complex were removed from tournament without losing a match. As part of the villain pact Krakan had taken responsibility of transferring payment for the villain wrestlers to compete and conveniently forgets to cover the Superiority Complex for entering. An admin oversight initially missed the issue and allowed them to begin the tournament. All the drama paved a way for an unlikely final between Deadly Challenge and the Pillars of Power which of course Deadly Challenge won. Superiority Complex were fuming at being stiffed but bounced back in style as they faced the Mercenaries in a tag title match on the very next card and wiped the floor with them.
Killer Queen offers a hand of friendship to Vanity and wants to help cure his fear of the cage. Vanity is rattled by the change of direction and wonders whether he can trust a man who he once considered a friend but turned on him in the past. A segment on a show reveals Vanity entering a cage as part of tackling his problem, trembling as the door is locked behind him with Killer Queen standing outside. The Collector urges the Defender to think very carefully about his next move and states that he is a valued Court member but then gets caught out spilling info on what he really thinks. He opens up to his friend Solaris and an eavesdropper reports that the Collector complained the Defender is costing the team lots of money trying to help him. He thinks if Defender really wants to join the Renegades then he should just do it but Exo-King seems to have his back and is preventing that happening. There is chattering all over the social media which the Collector tries to deflect by saying his privacy has been invaded and he was taken out of context. The Court is in a pickle and maybe questions validly arising about it’s ability to exist into 2100. We will be watching this topic like a hawk to see how it plays out.
The tag team situation continues to cause consternation as Superiority Complex maintains their vice like grip on the belts. With the villain pact blocking certain teams from challenging them there is a serious lack of viable contenders deserving the next shot at them. If another villain team does take up the chance they are likely to see the other teams turn on them like a pack of wolves for breaking the pact. Deadly Challenge are even passing up the chance despite OTB success because Thakur is not wanting the Gladiators to make a move for any belts and to prioritise the Civil War battle (he may relax this stance next year). It means a chance for Titan Express as best of the rest. Trainer Jim knows the Titan team is not in the best of confidence of late but tries to build them up by predicting victory and saying Titan Express are the most talented team in the GWF boldly stating ‘the cream always rises to the top’. They will have the backing of a galaxy desperate to see the arrogant Citadel team slip up.
WHOSE HOT - Colussus, Alpha Force, Heracles, Wolf, Holocaust, Pillars of Power, Deadly Challenge WHOSE NOT - Draconian Sheik, New Order, Brute and Massacre, The Gamemasters, The Mercenaries INJURED – Mayhem (1); Cannibal (2); US. Patriot (4); SUSPENDED – none
Wrestler of the Month: COLUSSUS - Incredible month for the Champions team with Colussus shining brightest for Omega’s team. Colussus has had a memorable 2099 improving greatly on a difficult debut year. A run with the Heavyweight belt and winning OTB is not bad for any wrestling CV. The future is bright for Colussus.
Tag Team of the Month: DEADLY CHALLENGE - OTB winners cleaning up the monthly awards. Deadly Challenge makes a big stride for the Vanguard team and puts the Legends team in the shadows. Their tournament win causes great embarrassment for Brute and Massacre who still haven’t won it (much to their annoyance).

For someone who said they had trouble with storylines, you have been killing it lately. Interesting stuff!
