Card 623 – Niagara Tower of Lights:
Millenium stuns Superiority Complex to become new tag champs. Millenium showcase the glorious past and future of wrestling but can they stop the seemingly unbeatable Citadel duo? Morpheus hasn’t always been at ringside in recent title matches but makes sure he is present this time around as he is desperate to keep the belts out the hands of the Champions team. It’s in vein as Heracles is the hero for Millenium catching Prodigy cold with a shuddering Tombstone Piledriver. The victory raises the roof as Superiority Complex are finally unseated as the champs
Alpha Force beat Marcel de Sade in a non-title match. Little jibes in the build up, de Sade accusing Alpha Force’s father, Omega, of corruption over GALACTICAID and that the old man is trying to make a quick buck. Alpha Force makes him pay for those words and keeps up his habit of winning matches quickly. It’s over in a few minutes but it does take two strikes with TOMAHAWK THRUST and shortly after ALPHA STRIKE to pin de Sade
Draconian Sheik beat Exo-King by DQ. Exo-King really rolls up his sleeves but trying to fight fire with fire gets the ire of the referee. Unlike Drac he doesn’t have the benefit of a manager to pull distractions. Post match rumblings as the King has the high ground and stands court inside the ring. He addresses B. Guile and says he heard a rumour that the snivelling manager donned wrestling tights at a dark match recently but was too chicken to enter the ring. He challenges him in the ring against him but B. Guile scoffs and leads Drac off
Terak wins a walkover decision against Vyper. Puzzling scenes as Vyper refuses to wrestle for the Assassins and forfeits the match. Darkos says Vyper is playing the stress card claiming he is not mentally fit
Kati beats Star Warrior in a late replacement match for Terak-Vyper. Show organisers don’t want to cheat the fans so they pay Star Warrior and Kati handsomely for them to step in last minute seeing as they were already in attendance. Star Warrior had been primed to provide some colour commentary on the main event. Kati senses a big scalp and goes for it early with a couple near pins but almost blows it by missing a deathjump with Star Warrior using his experience. Star Warrior briefly gets the ascendancy and nails COSMIC BIG BANG but it’s not enough. Unfortunately he just isn’t the singles wrestler he once was and Kati rides out the brief switch in momentum. He overpowers Star Warrior and it is just of matter of time. Star Warrior does well to survive SAMOAN REVENGE but later gets hit with an awesome Flying Leg drop and doesn’t have it in him to kick out. In a sporting gesture Star Warrior recovers and shakes Kati’s hand who is smiling from ear to ear at his achievement
Generation X beat Flamboyance after Grunge hits Vanity with Hard Rock Crack shortly after they’d weakened him with THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Maxine Babe seems to enjoy the deafening guitar music of Grunge dancing with both Generation X members in the ring much to Vanity’s annoyance. He steps up onto the apron and pulls her out by her hair and forces her to leave. Generation X find the mistreatment of her amusing
Stalker defeated Darkos by DQ. Stalker a little lucky to come out with the win but it is always impressive when someone gets a load of the opponent’s finisher but still comes out on top. Stalker riding high at the moment.
Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad ... Brute and Massacre
Johnny Rocket: “Here we are on Aethra. My producer warned me about hosting the show here but it’s not too bad. The crowd is very silent but at least nobody is attacking me. I guess they like me. Anyway already here with me are the legendary Brute and Massacre but I wonder for how much longer? The Civil War isn’t going too well for you guys. Perhaps this is a Gladiator Legends crisis”
Massacre: (shouting) “What do you mean by that? Brute and Massacre are the greatest tag team in history and Spike is a GWF legend. Even Wolf can mix it up headbanger style. We will crush your puny skull if you insult us” (Massacre then stubs his cigar on Johnny’s expensive desk)
Johnny Rocket: (nervous laugh) “Listen guys I meant no offense. I just meant it doesn’t look as if things are going too well for the Legends”
Brute: “We don’t see it that way. The Legends won the Aethran Ultimate Escape match at GALACTICON. Everyone thinks just because Deadly Challenge triumphed at OTB they are ahead but that tournament was rigged. Have they ever held the tag belts like we have. There is no comparison and Thakur knows that”
Johnny Rocket: “You haven’t held the belts in a long time now”
Massacre: “There have been distractions but in 2100 all Gladiators have been told they are free to challenge for the titles. The only thing we have been discouraged from doing is going after the IP belt. That is seen as a second rate strap on Aethra. We will reign again at the top of the tag pile soon”
Johnny Rocket: “Understood but I’m not sure Vengeance will agree with you on the status of the IP belt. He wants gold by any means and has said that he intends to challenge for whatever belts are available. Moving onto Overkill, don’t you worry that now he has arrived the Vanguard will get stronger. He is an awesome size”
Brute: “He’s not as strong as me”
Massacre: “Plus he doesn’t possess one brain cell inside that sick head of his. All he does is creep people out and think about crime”
Johnny Rocket: “Coming from an Aethran that’s saying something. But it seemed pretty clear before the Civil War he was leading the team and calling the shots”
Massacre: “I was always the brains behind the Gladiator team and that has not changed. I will outsmart anything the Vanguard team has and Brute will overpower anything he comes up against. We will beat the team of Thunder and Overkill. Mark my words”
Johnny Rocket: “It will be a tremendous battle. They have even added Thrash as a women wrestler. From what I’ve heard she might give Amazonia problems”
Massacre: “Thrash is not a wrestler. She is a female slave on our home world. Amazonia’s matches should not be considered in the Civil War. She is not a gladiator. She is the lowest form of life to us, a female who is not Aethran. Do not mention her again”
Johnny Rocket: “Wolf won’t like hearing that. Could there be a Civil War within the Legends camp itself? What a disaster that would be”
Massacre: “If Wolf has a problem with any of us he is more than welcome to take us on. He may be on our team but I don’t think he will ever be fully trusted by any one of us. It is just a teaming of convenience for the Civil War. After that he can go to hell for all I care. Anyone who is not with us is against us”
(Suddenly Thakur bursts onto the set in menacing style. Carrying a sword he demands Brute and Massacre end the interview as he doesn’t like the way it is going. They obediently follow him off the set. The crowds start respectfully clanking metal boots and deafen out Johnny’s attempts to wrap up the interview)
Card 624 – Aethran War Dome:
(Darn it. I think I seriously underbooked the Civil War matches here. Thought the main event would be enough to satisfy the Aethran crowd but that ended up as a disappointing one-sided battle. I need to remind myself that this could be the last year some of these awesome Gladiators will feature in my fed and to try and make the absolute most of it by savouring all the matches they are participating in)
Spike overcomes Mayhem in a match with Massif as the referee. Massif drafted in to control this massive clash. His duties go largely untested as Spike dominates Mayhem who is having a real off day. He annihilates Mayhem from the opening bell and proceeds to finish him very quickly with MEGADESTROYER. The Civil War hasn’t gone too great for the Legends in recent months but at least Spike ends 2099 on a winning note for them
Star Warrior defeated the Matador with COSMIC BIG BANG. Matador had taunted Star Warrior over the recent loss to Kati, “how can he expect to compete with me in the ring, the greatest champion of all time, when he cannot even beat a primitive part timer”. Star Warrior responded to comments by challenging the Matador to face him without anyone at ringside which is accepted. A cracking match ensues with Matador left with egg on his face falling to an unexpected loss. Star Warrior proves he can still turn it on with a performance full of confidence and agility. It was just like watching him in his prime again
Royal Blood beat Flamboyance by count-out. Exo-King and Killer Queen have remained friendly since Queenie left the Court which makes this an interesting battle. It’s a four star match with King and Queenie getting a little bit heated. Queenie ends up losing out trying to scrap it in an out of ring brawl that doesn’t suit his style. Before that Exo-King takes some licks and even has a close call as Maxine Babe uses her body parts to distract and enable Vanity to use LADIES CHOICE. Vanity actually looking good in the match but maybe made the mistake of not following up his momentum because Queenie badly wanted the tag and the opportunity to pin his friend
Astro Turk pinned Pollux after Astro Hammer. Undercarders battle between possibly the two worst wrestlers in GWF history. Astro Turk grabs the win leaving Pollux humiliated and then trying to save face by claiming a fast count
Terak defeated Killing Machine in a unpopular upset. This was Killing Machine’s last match. Vengeance says it is booked to satisfy a penchant Killing Machine has for hunting jungle critters but this one manages to evade him. Terak and the Savage Kingdom are reborn this year as they’ve been punching well above their weight. Terak gives everything and topples the mysterious Gladiator with BARBARIAN SHUFFLE
The Mercenaries stumble over the line to beat Trainer Jim and Ursa Major. Soldier of Fortune pins Trainer Jim to save any blushes. Asked why Jim decided to step into the ring he reveals “I keep myself in good shape and every year I try to wrestle a couple of matches. I realised it had been a while. I know I cannot compete with most of the roster but it’s a challenge I enjoy”. Jim gets praise for being brave enough to face the Mercenaries but maybe it’s better he sticks to coaching his team in 2100 or wrestles Pollux.
SPECIAL CHARITY EVENT …… ‘GALACTICAID - THE BRAWL TO HELP THEM ALL’ To help underprivileged kids across the galaxy. Most villains decline to appear or forego their match fees but some show a softer side and agree to sign matches. GWF refuses to discuss the inside financial details but the show is a great success raising many millions!
TEAM SUPREME CHALLENGE - Cage Matches - Citadel of the Elite overcome the Champions by a 7-3 scoreline; The Matador defeated Alpha Force with BULLWHIP. Fabulous match which Alpha Force started in fine fettle but the longer it went the more the Matador came into it. Groans from the crowd as Alpha Force loses but they can’t complain much as it’s been a while since he got beaten and he’s still the champ. Outside the cage Omega tries to thank the Matador for supporting the event and present a medal but he shrugs him off. Matador becomes deeply unpopular for such a gesture and is jeered; Chaos and Janus beat the Gamemasters. Once Chaos gets in the ring the Citadel team takes total control. He starts the process of wearing down Star Warrior with BOW OF DEFEAT. It only takes a couple of applications to incapacitate Star Warrior. The main event is now already won by the Citadel leaving the last match purely academic; Millenium defeated Superiority Complex. With the match lost for the Champions team Millenium are wrestling for pride. The newly crowned tag champs show they are not one hit wonders by beating Superiority Complex again. Colussus repeatedly uses BAD ATTITUDE on Skinhead
IP Title Rematch, US. Patriot defends successfully against Enigma with a DQ win. Omega was keen to see a belt defended on the card. He approached the FDF and propositioned US. Patriot. Never one to shirk a challenge Adam agreed to give Enigma a chance to win the belt back but only if Darkos was not at ringside. Enigma had no option but to accept the terms. Adam is mostly on top and gets a near pin with FREEDOM FLYER. Enigma is under pressure and desperate to try and setup his FEET OF FURY move and keeps trying to get Adam out of the ring. Despite constant warnings from the ref he keeps doing it and ends up getting punished for it. Some post match drama as the GWF say the match was never a sanctioned title match as this isn’t an official GWF card. Adam is shocked to hear it and reveals if he had lost he wouldn’t of been able to look at himself as the champ seeing as he would of had the belt returned to him. Adam says “I’m not sure what I would of done. I probably would of voluntarily given the belt up and tried to win it back in the tournament that would of been setup to find a new champion”
Jack of Diamonds defeated Splatter by DQ. Long time coming this, Jack has been healing up for some time. His father, Exo-King, has warned him about going after Splatter. He is worried he might get injured again but Jack is determined to make Splatter pay for his random lottery attack. When Splatter emerges from the back swinging Arsenal about Jack suddenly trembles with fear. He remembers what happened to him but then looks into the cheering crowd and conjures up his bravery. In a snap decision he throws caution to the wind and charges at Splatter to meet him on the runway. Match on. Both really go for it. No holding back as the action takes place in the ring, outside the ring, up the runway and even briefly over by the interviewers podium. It’s almost like a falls county anywhere match. Credit to the ref as he tries to let as much as possible go but then Splatter goes for MEET ARSENAL and the bell sounds for a DQ. Jack is struck down and Splatter starts dragging him towards the ring presumably to continue attacking. Exo-King and Defender run out from the back to clear Splatter from the ring
Bishop Hell pinned Lord Nexus. Bishop Hell’s first match since he was suspended for the infamous burning of Pulsar Prime. An early chance of Titan revenge (although Lord Nexus says revenge is not a Titan trait). The Overlord says Bishop Hell agreeing to wrestle at this event will help his image and create sympathy. But public perception of Bishop Hell is not good and is he pelted from all directions on route to the ring. Bishop Hell has such a heart of stone that it barely effects him. Wastes no time in the ring. The match barely goes a couple of minutes but Bishop Hell still manages to cram in HELLFIRE once and FLYING CROSS several times (the fourth one leading to the pin)
Vanity pinned Psycho. Cannibal comes trundling along to watch his rumoured new recruit. Vanity causes a stir by demanding an appearance fee for wrestling at the event. The possibility that his purse go to charity never crossed his mind and he almost no shows until Commissioner Carter steps in and threatens him with a long suspension. He comes out with Maxine Babe who is wearing a bikini. Officials demand she cover up and hand her a robe. She calls them prudes and puts the unflattering item on. Sideshows apart the match is pretty entertaining but Vanity shows agility is more effective than lard based power. He nails Psycho with a flying leap off the turnbuckle which takes the big man off his feet. Psycho is so huge he can’t kick out despite trying to vigorously rock his huge frame
Defender makes hard work of beating Pollux but eventually fires DEFENDER CANNON to get the job done. Defender puts his serious head on long enough to praise the cause but then shows his distorted mind again as he says “Mad Jester didn’t want to help out when I talked to him in the mirror so I smashed it. It’s for a good cause and I want to do my bit to help out”. His opponent Pollux raves about how is moving up the card because he was asked to wrestle at the event. In truth Omega was running extremely low on willing villain wrestlers so had to scrape the barrel and ask him along.

GWF REPORT (CIVIL WAR 2099 CARDS 621 - 624)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Alpha Force (Top Contender: Janus) * GWF Tag Champs: Millenium (Top Contenders: Generation X) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: US. Patriot (Top Contender: Doomsayer)
Latest News:
Omega’s team breezing to the MOST INSPIRATIONAL award after many charitable efforts throughout 2099 whilst keeping up a busy wrestling schedule. They have been really rolling their sleeves up helping to raise money and assisting different charities. GALACTICAID was the cherry on top of it. They are hoping to promote more of these fantastic events in future years. At the aftershow one child from a broken home in Saturn called Omega his hero and describes him as the angel on his shoulder. The scene with Omega hugging him and thanking for the kind words brought tears to the eyes of some of the toughest guys around. On the wrestling front it’s been a much better year for the Champions (despite the catastrophic STRIVE TO SURVIVE event which was a disaster for all the hero teams). Alpha Force made incredible strides and has a very respectable Heavyweight belt reign going. Millenium then joined him at the top of the pile by capturing the tag belts to leave the Citadel without gold for the first time in a long time. Things look positive for the new century with all the belts on the side of the heroes.
Calls for Monad to stripped of best newcomer award. In some sections he is not considered a new wrestler. The GWF decision stands and he pips Thunder to the award. Doomsayer says this is just the beginning and he expects Monad to capture the Heavyweight belt next year. In fact Entropy have serious designs on all belts at the moment. Doomsayer is #1 contender to the IP belt to set up a mouth watering clash with an old enemy in US. Patriot. Generation X are #1 contenders for the tag straps and provide Millenium with their first test as the champs. Will they take the match seriously enough and stop their partying and cut down on the illegal tactics that so often lose them matches?
Psycho’s popularity is on the decline, the latest episode sees him invading a soup kitchen on Mars and gorging. He is dressed as a biker. The poor people inside the kitchen all scarper and he invites his new mates in. Later in the press conferences Cannibal introduces him as Cycle Hog. Cannibal believes now he is becoming more of a manager than wrestler he can groom under achievers like Cycle Hog for greatness using disgusting illegal tactics. He still intends to wrestle and lead by example occasionally.
Splatter allowed to return to action one card early as suspensions get reset. Splatter is not remorseful for his actions and says the lottery game is back. Wrestlers are queueing up to get their hands on him! Defender of the Realm still acting a bit kooky but he is delighted the Collector has retired. He calls him a ‘queer duck’ during press conferences but gets warned by Exo-King to try and control his thoughts and drop the novelty act. There is a danger he could transform back to the Mad Jester if he keeps it up.
Darkos spitting feathers with a rant about conspiracies against the Masked Assassins. At Omega’s big charity event the match between Enigma and US. Patriot turned out to be just a regular bout instead of the proposed IP title being online. The GWF wouldn’t recognise any title change if it had happened. It would of meant Enigma would of been stripped of the belt immediately after the show. Having already lost the title to Adam on his first defense Enigma isn’t listed as a holder in the record books. Darkos rants “they are doing everything they can to keep the belt off Enigma. Everyone fears his huge potential as a future Heavyweight champion. Omega and the GWF conned us into the match by changing the script at the last knockings”. The tirade ticks off Omega who quickly responds to the rant, “I apologise to the fans but not to Darkos or Enigma. I didn’t think things through and needed to seek approval with the GWF before promoting the match. But Enigma and Darkos should of been proud to be able to perform at the event. Their complaining just shows all they care about is themselves”.
The court case where the Collector is trying to clear his name against the slanderous accusations of the Defender rages on but there is talk that an out of court settlement maybe reached. Rumour that Defender will be paid off to withdraw his comments and then remain silent. Interesting outcome and almost an admission of guilt from the Collector over the sources of his wealth. Probably for the best he and the GWF are now parting ways but it is a dissapontment as it seemed he’d turned over a new leaf.
Civil War is now halfway through and depending on who you talk to there are different perceptions on how the two teams have performed. The only opinion that really matters is Thakur’s but both teams will point to defining moments in 2099. The Legends triumphed in the Aethran Ultimate Escape match at GALACTICON but the Vanguard had huge success at OTB and STRIVE TO SURVIVE. There is no doubt the Legends were initially on top but the last few months have been all about Vanguard domination. If you ask me, the Vanguard are shading it and with the recruitment of Overkill look in a very strong position for 2100. The stakes just couldn’t get any higher and it’s going to be a battle of bloodshed.
Newcomers ... Rising Sun, recruited to the Titans after the tragic burning of Pulsar Prime he brings incredible martial arts expertise with him and forms an awesome looking new tag team called Titan Fury ... Max Shield, the story of Scorpi and the Omicron Event enters the GWF. Wait til you read the background. New team members will be joining him next year. During the press conferences he is seen hanging around with a large guy who seemed to keep disappearing. Maybe this is one of those new guys Max has been speaking of ... Mandrill, an Animan that found the Andromeda laws to confining and left to conquer planets meeting a motley collection of aliens along his adventures and forming the Colonizers. His enslaving of the Scorpi people has led to a feud between two new teams in the GWF battleground as the Colonizers take on Max Shield and Genesis. At the moment Mandrill and Max are the only members of the teams but these will grow over the next couple of years. The feud could develop into one of the legendary battles ... Overkill, the much talked about new Vanguard Gladiator finally arrives replacing Killing Machine. The sheer size he boasts makes him an intimidating wrestler with strength on the same scale as someone like Chaos. Could tip the balance towards the Vanguard in the final year of the Civil War ... Thrash, comes in as the official Vanguard bodyguard and first female Aethran wrestler tol feud with Amazonia. As women are basically treated as slaves on Aethra she will do anything they ask of her. Has a close bond with Overkill having trained with him over the past year. Vengeance may have to watch how he treats her in case it upsets the protective Overkill.
Changes ... Vyper, tired of playing second fiddle to Enigma he has left the Masked Assassins and joined Savage Kingdom. After the tragedy of losing his parents during his youth in the circus (turns out his father trained deadly animals and his mother was a magician) to a deadly beast from Pleiades he started to become depressed, hung around in bad crowds and developed a morbid fascination with snakes in the circus. Crossing paths with Darkos who took advantage of him to bring him to the GWF he has now seen the light. His style has changed and he believes Terak to be the perfect mentor to help him enjoy success and his life again ... Cycle Hog, as mentioned he has hooked up with Cannibal’s new Murderer’s Row team after his mate Frenzy retired. Prior to the soup kitchen episode he turned up at a try out for his new team holding pizza in one hand and a mug of beer in the other. He let out a huge belch to which Death’s Head just stared whilst Draconian Sheik went to the floor to feast on any scraps he dropped. Cannibal was so impressed he hired him on the spot ... Powerhouse, in a change of image Chopper Mattock becomes Powerhouse and uses the same climbing gear his old partner Massif used to wear. He is bitter towards Commander Sam and the FDF for the way he was treated all those years ago. He begins a feud with US. Patriot and hopes to use his new illegal finisher CHOKE WITH GEAR on him. Things could get mega interesting if Massif ever happens to be the special ref for one of his matches ... Dreadnaught, his body is in decline as the effects of the Transevolver takes it’s toll. At times in 2099 it was noticeable and now he admits he isn’t the wrestler he was. But he intends to keep doing what he loves and has hooked up with his old partner, Marcel de Sade, to reform the Henchmen as an independent tag team. In a reunion he and de Sade spent a lot of time chatting with their old leader Thantos at the bar during the GWF reception and press conferences. The three of them comparing notes and wrestling strategies sparking hopes the three legends might one day get together for a three man tag match ... Cannibal, moves into managing with his bizarre collection of wrestlers to form Murderer’s Row after bringing Draconian Sheik (whom he stole Reynard B. Guile) and Cycle Hog in. He will continue to wrestle occasionally and lead by example. However his example will be to show cheating and violence is a more succesful path to follow than working hard and fair play.
Retirements ... Tendron wanted to wrestle full time but as Doomsayer was preferring to keep him in a bodyguard status he has chosen to retire and return to a life of crime. The new bodyguard is Mutant! Will Doomsayer try his craziest experiment and put him/it in the TRANSEVOLVER ... Frenzy has hung up his wrestling boots too. He wishes his old partner well but says he is not too happy about the new company he is keeping ... Cosmic Rangers, they won’t be missed. Without doubt the worst tag team of all time ... Commissioner Carter says it’s been a tough year. He admits the recent Kronoscam leak and the Pulsar Prime burning incident have had a deep impact on him. So this will be his last year as Commissioner and he will serve on a committee to choose a new one. He gets a respectful standing ovation from the media crowd before mingling with reporters at the reception. Pointing to the various holograms such as Wildcat (in a dynamic pose), Enigma and even wrestlers yet to debut he says the future of the GWF is exciting and he will always follow the wrestling scene. His chatter is then rudely interrupted by Creeper trying to attack some of these incredible holograms and Vanity moaning about the absence of his own hologram. Carter seems in good spirits laughing and joking but when the best of 2099 matches come on and the Bishop Hell-Pulsar Prime match is replayed he pauses his chat and shakes his head in disbelief telling his companions “seeing stuff like this is why I must retire”. WHOSE HOT - Stalker, Janus, Terak, Exo-King, Chopper Mattock, Mayhem, Millenium, Generation X WHOSE NOT - Killing Machine, Pegasus, Psycho, the Gamemasters, Superiority Complex, Flamboyance INJURED – Pulsar Prime (?); SUSPENDED – none
Wrestler of the Month: STALKER - It was a close call between Stalker and Exo-King. Both made incredible showings against the odds at STRIVE TO SURVIVE. In the end the way Stalker has led the Savage Kingdom to success has been both surprising and amazing. Last month they were easily the top hero team. Honest.
Tag Team of the Month: MILLENIUM - Once they set their minds to going after the tag team belts there was no stopping Millenium. They captured the gold in style and beat the seemingly unbeatable Superiority Complex twice along the way. The makings of a fantastic team for sure as long as they keep focused on it. End of Year Awards: WRESTLER OF THE YEAR – Alpha Force (runner up: Enigma) TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR – Superiority Complex (runners up: Deadly Challenge) MANAGER OF THE YEAR – Omega (runner up: Morpheus) MOST POPULAR – Alpha Force (runner up: Wolf) MOST HATED – Bishop Hell (runner up: Splatter) MOST INSPIRATIONAL – The Champions (runner up: Stalker) BEST NEWCOMER(S) – Monad (runner up: Thunder) BEST FEUD – Gladiator Civil War (runner up: Defender of the Realm-Collector) BEST MATCH – Legends-Vanguard Aethran Ultimate Escape match, #600 (runner up: Alpha Force-Janus, #604)

PRESS CONFERENCE ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Plenty of other stuff happened. Too much to fully comment on but here’s some of the highlights ...
*Killing Machine released from Civil War. He does not unmask right away despite Wolf claiming to know his identity. Overkill comes in. Thakur says Wolf may not be immune from banishment. Both teams bragging that they held the advantage in 2099. The Legends started in dominating fashion but the Vanguard came back. Thakur says much more blood will be spilt before there is a winning team.
*Morpheus interrupts Raw Power press conference saying they are his new villain recruits to replace the Hitmen. He makes an enemy of Pegasus. Days later Pegasus confirms his departure from the team and that he will tone down his schedule as he considers his options. He will only wrestle here and there. Morpheus is stepping up his efforts to control all the villains in the GWF. He even goes far as saying he will control the remaining Gladiator team next year. He warns Pegasus that he will regret not allowing Morpheus to lead him and that he will pay for it. But his boldest statement is left for the Champions team. He makes an open challenge for another SUDDEN DEATH battle claiming with him as manager (instead of the clueless Magnus Colby) the Citadel cannot lose. Omega says he will the new Commissioner in 2101 decide. Another wrinkle is the Matador is sceptical about Morpheus and looked fed up when being interviewed. He is even training alone. His incredible achievements are constantly overlooked as Morpheus lavishes most praise on Chaos and the Superiority Complex. Even Janus (who has had past problems) is higher in the current Citadel pecking order. Morpheus would be wise not to lose his services as the Matador remains the most talented wrestler despite a quiet 2099.
*KRONOSCAM leaks. Serious investigating going on as match results are being smuggled out. The NIGHT OF LIVING LEGENDS event results later in the year almost make it into the public domain but are intercepted by authorities at the last moment and incinerated. High alert for further attempts. The potential problems this poses are unthinkable and Solaris is doing all he can to get to the bottom of it. Events on Kronos are considered to be among the greatest honours of all for wrestlers to participate in. A celebration of the rich history and future of the GWF. It would disastrous if it was shutdown because of a gang looking to make profit from it. For now the future of Kronos is under very close scrutiny.
*Killing Machine rescues Reynard B. Guile from a beatdown at the hands of Cannibal and Death’s Head. B. Guile has confronted Cannibal over stealing Draconian Sheik from him. He soon finds himself in THROAT SLIT and is crying like a little girl but Killing Machine storms in. He is outnumbered but with a surge of energy fends everyone off to protect B. Guile. Noticing his body suit ripped he decides to tear it off and unmask revealing himself as the Bounty Hunter. With Cannibal’s crew out the way he answers questions about how he couldn’t turn down the chance of one last big challenge of the Civil War and says B. Guile would never of understood had he known. B. Guile admits he’d never of kept the secret. The only person that knew was Wolf who had whispered his true identity in his ear once in 2099 whilst applying SAVAGE FACE CLAW but out of respect never repeated it. Reynard B. Guile calls him his only true friend having been dumped by so many people in recent years and scampers after him. Both Bounty Hunter and Reynard B. Guile depart the press conference perhaps for the final time.
*The Titans are trying to come to terms with Pulsar’s injuries (glum outlook as the burns were so severe) but bring in Rising Sun. Trainer Jim drops a bombshell that this is his last year as manager. He will leave to help guide Billy Jo Boxer’s boxing career. Lord Nexus was always born to eventually lead the Titans and will take on the managing duties in 2101 and continue their feud with the Brotherhood. Ram and Bishop Hell continue to bicker over the singles spot but this year it’s Ram’s turn to tag team.
*Dreadnaught and Marcel de Sade reform the Henchmen. The vets believe tag teaming will prolong their careers and vow to show experience can win them titles but are perplexed to be bogged in an undercard feud. “Has it slipped people’s minds that we were one of the most successful teams in GWF history with one of the longest reigns? We aim to repeat that”. They hope to dominate Flamboyance and boost their ranking. Marcel de Sade even urges old master, Thantos, to join them in 6 man action but also openly challenges the Gamemasters too for a nostalgic main event anywhere in the galaxy.

GWF SPOTLIGHTS
NEW ORDER - One of the most memorable teams in GWF history. They have only managed to win the gold once and it was a short reign. There was also an OTB victory. But their achievments go beyond that as they were part of the successful WAR team that beat the Gladiators in SUDDEN DEATH and in part responsible for CIVIL WAR. Sadly this past year has been forgettable with New Order languishing rock bottom of the tag rankings pile at one point. Currently they face a very different challenge to the Gladiators as Dreggs now feuds with his twin brother in probably the GWFs most emotional battle.
Memorable Moment - Defeating the Gladiators in SUDDEN DEATH. It was a huge victory for WAR as finally someone had stood up against and actually beaten the violent Aethrans. Honours - OTB Tag (2095), Tag Team Champs (1)
CHAOS - Without doubt the strongest and most dominant in history Chaos entered the GWF having dominated wrestling in Dimension X and been lured into this dimension by Omega and Alpha Force. Armed with the power of the sometimes unstable Alpha Stone he boasts incredible strength and decent ring skills to match. His arrogance is why he is so detested but he can back it up with phenomenal success in the ring. Recent times have been a bit more lean but there is no doubting he is the top villain. He is making bold statements that in 2100 he’ll regain his aura of invincibility. He is one of the most decorated wrestlers the fed has seen and could easily become the most successful.
Memorable Moment - His arrival was memorable in itself. From Dimension X and carrying the Alpha Stone it was obvious he was going to be a mega star. He formed a superstar team called Third Force and inevitably won gold. Capturing third OTB victory shrouded in controversy. Still leaves a bitter taste. Honours - OTB Singles (2093, 2095, 2098), Rigel Royal Rumble (2096), Team Supreme (2097), Heavyweight Champ (3)
WOLF - Consistently labelled the most popular of all the GWF wrestlers even ahead of the likes of Star Warrior and Thantos. Wolf is the ultimate anti-hero. He may not of had incredible belt success (he’s still done good) but his feuds are what it’s all about. Battles with the likes of Bounty Hunter and Mayhem are legendary. He is always where the action is and currently giving everything to he Gladiator Civil War battle fighting on the side of the Legends. Nobody knows where he might end up next. Thakur has said Wolf may be banished with the other Legends if they lose in what is a slowly developing story.
Memorable Moment - Entering the ring against Reynard B. Guile after they were accidentally married. It was both embarrassing and satisfying for Wolf. Countless brutal battles over the years with the likes of Thantos, Bounty Hunter, Doomsday Creature and Mayhem. He is never far from the hardcore action. Honours - OTB Hardcore (2097, 2098, 2099) Heavyweight champ (3), Interplanetary champ (1), Heavy Metal champ (1)
BRUTE AND MASSACRE - The ultimate headbangers and the best tag team that has existed in the GWF. Sadly their stay in the GWF could be coming to an end as they are embroiled in a Gladiator Civil War that is going against the Legends at the moment. There is no question they will be hall of famers in time given their achievements. Multiple tag team titles and legendary feuds with the Animen and WAR. The one big blot on their copybook is the SUDDEN DEATH loss to WAR. It is the reason they are now fighting for their GWF future. They are also feeling the pressure for failing to win OTB. But what’s more important to have, tag team gold or a one off tournament success? Some would argue the latter.
Memorable Moment - The GWF had never seen anything like them at the time. Aethra was finally invading wrestling and after what they did in the Galactic War this caused considerable anxiety. Honours - Record Tag Team belt reign (64), Tag Team champs (4), War Games Tag champs (1)
THANTOS - Will forever be remembered as the man who broke the Galactic Code and created the hero and villain factions. Thantos has redeemed himself but still maintains a hard edge. You get the feeling he could always turn on Star Warrior and Omega again. Trouble is his influence is on the slide as age catches with him. He has had received breaking levels of success. It’s been a long time since he held singles gold but he has the longest Heavyweight belt reign (77 cards and 6 belt runs) and has now become very successful in tag team action. Whatever happens in the future he has made his mark and could be a very influential team manager as he could be easily cajoled into choosing that path. He remains tight lipped on his plans but is the sort of guy who’d wrestle even if he needed a walking stick.
Memorable Moment - Breaking the Galactic Code and splitting the GWF into hero and villain teams. His incredible move changed the landscape forever. His reunion with Star Warrior almost a decade later. Of course the blood spilt the night he was savagely attacked with an ice pick by Sin features highly. Honours - Record Heavyweight belt reign (77), Heavyweight champ (6), Tag Team champ (1), EC Heavyweight champ (1), EC Tag Team champ (1), War Games Tag champ (1)
MATADOR OF M83 - A hall of famer with the greatest achievement in GWF history by having the longest belt reign of all time. His run as the Interplanetary champ lasting almost 100 cards may never be bettered. Like Chaos (his longtime friend) he boasts an incredibly arrogant persona but also backs it up. Often he is referred to as being the most talented wrestler ever to of graced the GWF. More success is sure to follow as he has many years left ahead of him. At the present time he is being pushed out of the limelight with his role in the Citadel team. Maybe it’s time for a man of incredible ability to move onto where he’s appreciated? The Matador doesn’t like to speak too much about it.
Memorable Moment - The day his astonishing run with the IP strap finally ended just a few cards short of the 100 mark. Just shades the remarkable achievement of being the only active wrestler to enter the hall of fame. It’s a mark that might never surpassed especially with the size of the modern roster. Honours - Hall of Famer, Record IP belt reign (94), Team Supreme (2097), Heavyweight champ (1), Interplanetary champ (2)
COMMANDER SAM - Now a successful manager Commander Sam is synonymous with the FDF. Having been a decorated soldier during the Galactic Wars he is one of very few to make a successful transition to wrestling. Unfortunately the high level of talent has restricted Sam’s belt success but he has engaged in many memorable feuds over the years mainly against aliens from Cygnus such as Torpor, Mangus and Comrade Terror. His FDF team are probably only second in popularity to the Champions team and are the remaining original opposing team from the early code breaking days. Some recent members have rocked the boat, like Dreadnaught, but Sam is ready to return to basics.
Memorable Moment - Omega passes the torch for Sam to lead his beloved FDF. Honours – EC Tournament of Champions (2082), EC Heavyweight champ (1)
KRAKAN - Like him or loathe him Krakan’s role in the GWF has been significant. He is always vying for the spot of the top villain and whilst he has not quite reached that goal his feud with the Titans and the early attacks he and his team carried out have been significant. When he formed the Hitmen he changed the GWF landscape again. The only thing going against Krakan is a lack of personal ring success. The briefest of reigns with the main belt didn’t even enter the record books because he failed to defend it. His greater successes now appear to be as a manager as he oversees the Mercenaries.
Memorable Moment - Numerous. Krakan has orchestrated many brutal (never forgotten) attacks. His attempt to challenge Thantos for the role of villain leader at GALACTICON 1 (which ultimately failed). Honours - War Games Tag champ (1)

Card 625 – Triton Pavillion:
(Lots of excitement at the opening show of 2100. It’s a landmark card as it heralds a new century of greatness which is the GWF tagline for the forthcoming year of action. A belt will be online to get things started in style. Also a big debut promised but who will it be ... Mandrill, Max Shield, Rising Sun or Overkill. All of them will be making their debuts in the first month for sure. There was even talk of Commander Sam getting in the ring with Omega for a friendly grapple to celebrate the card but plans are shelved. Cruel online jibes from many villains who say things like the two old codgers won’t hear the bell unless they have their hearing aids in and questioning whether they will need walking sticks to make it up the runway to the ring. The real reason is Omega did not want to overshadow the new breed. Having had their long careers and time in the limelight he feels they should melt into the background and concentrate on managing their respective teams. Sam is slightly taken aback as he thought it was a great idea and would of been up for it but obviously his opinion is not valued as much)
Interplanetary champ, US. Patriot, is far too hot for Doomsayer and retains the belt by wrestling to a dominating victory. Commander Sam had been planning to pair Adam with Justice in a new tag team called Sam’s Squadron. Both are keen to work the together but plans temporarily on ice whilst Adam defends his singles belt. This is match full of bad blood and it’s not just about the belt as Adam resumes acquaintances with Doomsayer. He sends Doomsayer away from the scene humiliated with a simple win crowned by FREEDOM FLYER. As Adam and Sam leave they notice Enigma perched on a viewing platform. Enigma making it clear he wants the IP belt back. Adam smiles and holds the belt towards him so he can get a good view of it before continuing his departure
Soldier of Fortune pinned Rising Sun. Baptism of fire for Rising Sun. Not a warm greeting from Krakan who nails him with his rifle setting up Soldier of Fortune’s victory. Rising Sun began in incredible style (a taster of his potential) immediately shocking SOF with a sunset flip and then SUNSET SPECTACULAR. It threatens to be one of the most amazing debuts ever but this is when Krakan charged in with his attack and got away with it. SOF picks himself up and hits THE REVENGER twice. He lets Rising Sun kick out probably too easily as if he wants to prolong the punishment now he is in the driving seat. There is time for a few more power moves demonstrating his superiority before he nails Vigilante Destroyer. Rising Sun tries to get up but then collapses allowing Solider of Fortune to stand on him and win the match in a huge miscarriage of justice. Sadly the Titan newcomer finishes match hurt and sporting a massive bump on the head, “welcome to the GWF you Titan scum” is the message from the Hitmen
New Order defeat Superiority Complex by DQ. Big looming battles for New Order who are desperate to kickstart their GWF fortunes in 2100. Morpheus sends Chaos to ringside to make a statement that the Citadel are still the premier team. Mace is agitated thinking Chaos has no right being there. Several times he jumps down from the ring apron to confront him before being pulled back by Destructon 3000. There are twists and turns in a match full of action. Superiority Complex have the first big moment as they setup THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER on Dreggs but Mace busts the resulting pin attempt and the ensuing brawl goes in favour of New Order. The action continues to flow but New Order work towards a big moment of their own and use THE HOLOCAUST on Prodigy. Before Mace can get the pin Chaos moves into the ring and slugs him. Maddening scene as Dreggs runs to aid his partner. Chaos grabs him by the throat and lifts him clean off the floor. Mace quickly darts outside and arms himself with a chair. When Chaos refuses to release the hold Mace breaks it across the back of the big man. Finally Chaos drops Dreggs and laughs at Mace. Destructon 3000 normally stays out of any action (as the GWF forbids it due to his overwhelming robotic strength) but even he has now climbed into the ring. Wondering might happen next as Superiority Complex are outside blocking the runway but Chaos climbs out of the ring and calls them off. He points towards Mace and warns him that he has made a bad move tonight and made an enemy of Chaos
Bishop Hell beat Wildcat with the help of the Overlord. He uses the much maligned HELLFIRE to achieve it. Lots of crowd anti feeling towards Bishop Hell. The Occult Overlord finally recognising the importance of Bishop Hell is crawling all over him and gives him a ring announcement. Crowd tries to drown him out but things go silent when the Overlord warns them to stop or Bishop Hell will set the ring ablaze. Everyone is hoping Wildcat can pull off an upset as the Savage Kingdom has been making waves but he is not match for Bishop Hell. Although they do get something unexpected to cheer as Splatter has stayed nearby after his last match ready to select the next lottery victim. Everyone hates him but they hate Bishop Hell more. There is cheering as Splatter enters and pushes the Overlord aside before hammering Bishop Hell. Pharoah Khety comes out from behind the runway curtain as if is going to help his colleague but then gets scared and runs away. No other help arrives so Splatter is free to continue battering until he gets bored. Bishop Hell is left slumped against a turnbuckle and bleeding. Medical staff reluctantly go to see him and eventually carry him off
Defender of the Realm over Splatter by DQ. Shrewd move by Krakan who brings a mirror to ringside which messes with Defender’s mind and he shows a nervous twitch during the opening minutes. The crowd is actually on both wrestler’s backs. Defender doesn’t like the heckling and throws some water bombs into first few rows. The tone is set and the match gets wilder and wilder. With neither playing with a full deck there is little chance of a clean finish but it’s surprising the action is able to go as long as it does. Splatter losing yet again by DQ as he attempts MEET ARSENAL and makes no effort at concealing the move from the ref. On basis of the match Defender has made little progress since the Collector retired and is still showing symptoms of madness
Jack of Diamonds and Exo-King win against Demons of Hydra. Jack and Exo-King are no longer using the Royal Blood name. The King ended 2099 as one of the top performing guys and is looking very confident. Demons are again with nobody ringside to help them pull their switch and get overwhelmed. Is Darkos neglecting them? He needs to start helping them more if tonight is any indicator but seems to be lavishing most of his attention on Enigma. Demon is defensive of his team leader and claims Darkos thinks they are experienced and talented enough to to cope on their own.
*AFTER THE BELL*
Bishop Hell got selected for the lottery and took a violent beating. Having just defeated Wildcat he was showing off in the ring performing fire tricks when Splatter appeared out of nowhere and started smashing him with Arsenal. The Occult Overlord was too frightened to get in the ring and was making desperate calls on his wrist device. Pharoah Khety suddenly stuck his head through the curtain at the back and looks at the carnage unfolding up ahead. Unsure what to do he comes forward for a few steps but when his eyes meet Splatter’s in a rare breather during the attack he turns right round and heads back to the safety of the Brotherhood’s cruiser. Bishop Hell is on his own and amazingly the crowd counts along with Splatter as he brings his weapon down on every limb. There is nobody to help as even his own team are unwilling to show up (rumour has it Ram sat down in the Pavillion’s media room to watch the episode unfold with a bag of popcorn which was then stolen from him by Cycle Hog). Finally the Overlord tries something but still keeps a distance as he stands on the apron begging for the onslaught to end. Doesn’t look like Splatter was in a mood to listen but more likely just got bored as he stops and then swings his weapon in front to clear a path to depart. Back in the ring the Overlord dashes towards Bishop Hell and demands treatment for him. Bishop Hell is bleeding badly and has injuries to his head, body and legs. It was one of Splatter’s most savage and drawn out attacks with nobody in any mood to try and stop him. Even the medics were slow to attend to the situation. The reported length of injury is 8 cards which considering the bloodshed is remarkably light. The amazing thing is Commissioner Carter is going to take no action against Splatter. Is this his way of saying to Bishop Hell I couldn’t do much about your burning of Pulsar Prime but this how the GWF can get back at you? Some conspiracy theories even floating about that Carter paid Splatter to do this. Unlikely but for sure the Brotherhood is going to just accept the beating quietly. The Occult Overlord is smart enough to realise they couldn’t get away entirely free after what happened and of course he won’t want to make an enemy of the Hitmen. I suppose there is corruption everywhere you look.

Card 626 - Triton Pavillion:
Generation X upsets Millenium to become new tag champs. With Tendron retired and Doomsayer using Mutant as his own personal bodyguard it seems Generation X are going to have be real clever about their illegal tactics (that’s if they care enough). Metalhead is keen to show his brother, Dreggs, up though by capturing the belts. It’s a feat New Order has only managed once and certainly underachieved in. Metalhead teases “we will win and then graffiti the belts”. A classic match plays out which Generation X mainly had the upper hand in but Heracles made it close when he survives a beating and battles back. It looks like Millenium are going to come through their first defense but only just. However Colussus drops the ball and hands Generation X a big chance. He gets blasted with KILLER AIR GUITAR which he survives but moments after a perfectly struck rendition of THE SOUND OF MUSIC (+5) spells doom and Millenium lose the belts at the first time of asking. True to their word Generation X go on television to celebrate. It’s some kind of wild party and the belts are seen on the floor covered in graffiti
Jack of Diamonds and Exo-King win a gruelling battle against Crypt of Terror by count-out. Holy rants from the Overlord ring out before the bout causing irritation. Khety then accuses Jack of assisting Dragonmaster in his murder from a past life. He rants “Jack also has blood on his hands”. When he comes face to face with Jack in the ring Khety freezes as if in fear and it needs a nudge from his partner to get himself out of a mini trance. Once out of his freeze state Khety actually wrestles a good match. At one point he has Exo-King reeling and hits CURSE OF KHETY twice but it’s not much of a finisher and wouldn’t put down an old lady let alone a powerful guy like Exo-King. The action continues and quite a bit goes on. Finishers, interferences, brawls. Nobody could accuse the match of being boring. The conclusion is when Exo-King gets enraged and presses Khety outside the ring for a count-out victory. The Occult Overlord orders Ram to take revenge and throws him his staff with which to beat both the King and Jack with. Ram looks disinterested in doing the Overlord’s bidding and throws the staff down on the ground and leaves the moment the ring announcers verdict is heard. He mutters something like “sod him, he is on his own”
Kati beats another old legend in Marcel de Sade but only by DQ. Kati maybe part time but he has been building a run and a rep of a legend beater after his last match against Star Warrior. He’s hot favourite here but de Sade gets a smidgen of hope when the ref lets his partner, Dreadnaught, remain ringside. Indeed the presence of Dreadnaught plays a factor and certainly helps his partner stay in the match. With neither man really in control the action ends up in the runway. Marcel de Sade being the seasoned heel that he is rams Kati into some sound equipment and Dreadnaught also gangs up. They quite happily accept the DQ loss so they can do a beatdown. It’s the Henchmen we remember from all those years ago working together to inflict pain on their opponent. Dreadnaught says Kati deserved it for thinking he can just waltz into the GWF part time and believe he can go around defeating guys that have put the best part of their lives into wrestling
The Mercenaries beat New Order. Match of the year material. Early rumblings as Chaos stalks the runway but Krakan refuses to allow him near the ring. Using his rifle to force Chaos back and stir up his conflict with Morpheus. Not forgetting there was a battle going on in the ring whilst this was going on. Epic stuff as the two teams waged war and looked reborn after forgettable recent times. The winning sequence arrived after about 15 minutes of intense action when Vigilante got on a run with POLICE BRUTALITY weakening Dreggs. Soldier of Fortune read the situation and incapacitated Mace by knocking him off the apron. They setup OPERATION: AMBUSH on Dreggs to take a big win. The conflict with Chaos takes centre stage afterwards. The Citadel are ready to feud with both the Hitmen and the Champions this year. Morpheus calls Krakan a managerial failure for the failed partnership in 2099, “he was a liability, I gave him another chance with a huge contract later in the year and they lost virtually all the money. Now they still refuse to fall under my leadership. The Pillars have now filled their role and now the Hitmen are our enemies”
Mandrill easily wins his debut match over Ursa Major after zapping him with VOLTAIC STUNNER. Mandrill wanted to face someone weak to build him up a bit. A bit of an insult to Ursa Major when Mandrill picked him out. The young Titan says “fine I’ll just have to give him a shock”. Crowd is spitting poison at the newcomer as he appears. It’s already obvious he is going to be one of the major villains in the GWF. His in-ring tactics are full of brutality and cheating. At one point he jumps out and snatches Trainer Jim’s towel using it to choke his Titan opponent. It’s clear Ursa Major has little chance. Fear that he is going to be on the end of a savage assault but Mandrill prefers not to prolong the punishment and ends the match in less than two minutes
Dynamo pinned Vanity. Always an edge when ex partners meet. Dynamo doesn’t even allow Vanity to get his glitzy wrestling robe off as he immediately goes on the attack. Cassandra and Maxine Babe being at ringside also making this tasty. Maxine Babe is getting a lot of attention from the fans in the front rows, she is a bit of a celebrity on Triton having won a modelling contest there in her teenage years. Cassandra is irked by all his and calls Maxine Babe a tramp. Maxine retaliates by calling Cassandra a dirty dominatrix slut and with that the two ladies are tearing lumps out of eachother. Vanity and Dynamo even stop what they are doing in the ring to see what is going on until the ref tells them to focus back on the match. Dynamo is much the stronger of the two and wins the match. Suddenly he is on high alert as Splatter starts creeping up the runway. Realising what is happening Vanity laughs and invites Splatter forward. Splatter slides into the ring and raises Arsenal above his head to strike but Dynamo grabs Cassandra and pulls her in front of him. She takes the blow and Splatter looks confused and agitated and decides to retreat. Crowd is shocked by Dynamo. Was it cowardice or instinctive? Cassandra is hurt but not badly as Splatter didn’t get the clearest of shots.
Card 627 – NETWORK DEIMOS WRESTLING – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Janus defeated Alpha Force to reclaim the Heavyweight belt. These two have been operating at a higher level than the rest of the roster and the belt has been their personal battle during 2099 and now they meet again with the prized title on the line again. The likes of Chaos and the Matador must watch enviously as their Citadel colleague continues to outshine them. Janus finally ending Alpha Force’s impressive run with a fast victory. Alpha Force is roughed up early as both managers clash during the intros and things get nasty. A chair shot leaves him staggering whilst Omega gets thrown over the railings and into the crowd. Morpheus then shows a surprise turn of speed to nail Alpha Force with TRIP TO HADES before throwing him into the ring. The match hadn’t even started at this point. Alpha Force tries to shake off his grogginess but is no match for Janus who soon has him grimacing in GORDION KNOT. The Citadel has sent a signal that the solid form of the Champions in 2099 is over and that they are back in control. Can the Champions and Alpha Force bounce back?
Splatter beats Draconian Sheik in a battle of the two most dangerous wrestlers in the GWF. Who is crazier? Depends who you speak to. Splatter gets some shock cheering as fans appreciate his lottery attack on Bishop Hell. It’s a strange match, Splatter is on his own but Drac is accompanied by his new handler Cannibal. There is so much crazed action but the ref just decides to let virtually everything go. Splatter leaves Drac bloody but it takes two slugs with MEET ARSENAL and THE SHREDDER three times to pin him. Drac babbles incoherently as he instinctively gets back to his feet despite being beaten and goes for Splatter again. Weapons go flying in he melee and Drac picks Arsenal up. Splatter starts to back away but Drac doesn’t know what to do with it. At first he tries to take a bite out of it before bashing it against his own head. Then his own blood starts dripping down his face and onto the canvas. Drac drops Arsenal and starts licking the blood off the floor allowing Splatter to reclaim his prized possession and skulk off. Cannibal looks impressed with his new slave’s odd behaviour and snares him in a noose with which to lead the moaning Drac away
Overkill beat Pharoah Khety using a Gladiator Piledriver in his big debut. Strange effect that Overkill has because the Overlord who is normally a blooming nuisance during matches barely muttered a word and made no interfering attempts. Overkill truly was a sight to behold. There was also the first sighting of Thrash. Wondering whether she will be a regular ringside fixture at Gladiator matches. She barely moved a muscle just standing court near the runway. The imposing Overkill makes calculating moves not wasting any energy. He lets Khety have a little bit of offense and waits for a mistake to pounce on. This soon happened as Khety tried to pick him up and Overkill just smashes him in the back to take over. There was no stopping him from here
Max Shield pinned Mutant after MAXIMUM IMPACT in a faultless display. Max keeping his eyes peeled just in case Mandrill shows up to spoil his debut and make a statement of arrival. Eager to learn more about Max and his tale of woe he is hot property among the wrestling media with reporters following him around for comments throughout the whole show. The feared confrontation with Mandrill does eventually happen. Max Shield finally gets some privacy and is going through a warm down routine in the pool complex. He surfaces from a length right in front of Mandrill’s feet (who has walked in off the street). Max gasps and is struck over the head with an object before security intervene. Mandrill follows by firing a warning shot out of his gun that hits the ceiling and causes some debris to fall before departing. His message has been received. Max falls unconscious floating face first in the water but is quickly pulled out and treated. His injuries are nothing to worry about and the feud is now in motion with no doubts about how big it’s going to be
Lord Nexus grabs a surprising win against Enigma. The young Assassin is really in the groove in the early moments of the match. He unleashes FEET OF FURY twice in quick succession but fails to hit the sweet spot and Lord Nexus kicks out each time. Enigma is taken aback and it probably has an affect on his judgement. He steps up his daredevil antics and goes to the top to try for a spectacular death jump incorporating a somersault. The experienced Nexus senses the desperation and moves. Enigma crashes into the floor and is nearly pinned. Nexus knows he has Enigma rocking and quickly slaps on a draining abdominal stretch but it’s still a big surprise when the young Assassin taps out into submission. Darkos is flabbergasted his brightest star has lost to this old man and says Enigma had an off night before calling the Titans germs. Not wanting the Masked Assassins to become sidetracked in a battle they don’t want he adds that they must put this defeat behind them and concentrate their efforts on extinguishing the filthy Savage Kingdom and especially Vyper. He is also obsessed with recapturing the IP belt that he claims Enigma was stiffed out of. Trouble is with a recent failed attempt against US. Patriot and now this loss Enigma is in no position to make any challenge
Lepus Stun Rod Match, Massacre defeated Mayhem with THE CLEANSING. Mayhem’s kamikaze style gets him into trouble as he misses with LEAP OF DOOM moments after smashing Massacre with the rod. The Gladiator legend makes a recovery to finish Mayhem off. When a reporter suggests Mayhem needs to tone down his reckless approach before it costs the Vanguard more matches he gets grabbed by the throat and tossed across the room
Cage match, Vengeance and Thunder outbrawl Wolf and Spike. Classic Civil War action as the Vanguard team wins in a tussle that goes right to the wire. Thunder creates a memorable moment as he is knocked senseless with Spike’s MEGADESTROYER but prevents defeat by dragging himself off the floor and standing up in the ring to no sell the move (even though in reality it had really hurt him). Spike could of gone over the cage but is so enraged by the action that he climbs back down to dish out more punishment. This brings the Vanguard back into the match. Thunder is secretly shaken and once he gets a defensive tag leaves most of the remaining work to Vengeance. No problem for Vengeance who spends the last stages of the cage battle up against Wolf. He wears Wolf down and uses LETHAL CATAPULT. Wolf does similar to Thunder but this does not work on Vengeance whose win at all costs attitude sees him up and over cage too quickly for either of the Gladiator Legends to stop it
Pillars of Power get the better of Titan Fury. The two Titans come to the ring wearing ‘For Pulsar’ t-shirts. Powerhouse scoffs at the puny ref and challenges Massif to come and do the job in future. It’s setup for an intriguing battle. The Pillars have been consistently close to a title shot for months but it’s never been quite the right time for them to make the final push (mainly because villain teams have been holding the belts) whilst Titan Fury are the hottest new team around. Sadly for the Titans they fall to Powerhouse’s new illegal finisher CHOKE WITH GEAR. Been a rough start to the GWF for Rising Sun with two defeats (singles and tag). Trainer Jim assures him that things will get better once he gets used to the Fed battleground. Publicly he calls for Massif to ref more matches as he is sure it would help cut down on villains getting away with their illegal moves.

Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad … New Order
Events on #625 gave a decent unexpected idea plot even though the dice roll dictated a flair interview without interruption. I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity of getting Chaos in the headlines again ... In light of what happened in the tussle between New Order and Superiority Complex this edition of the launching pad had taken on greater significance. Unsurprisingly it ended in ‘chaos’ as the big man bulldozed the interview. Johnny does a lot of talking at the start and mentions how recent times for WAR have been lean. Mace fidgets uncomfortably as he reels off some of their defeats in 2099. Fed up with being made to sound bad the New Order interupt and say their confidence levels are on the mend but then complain about Chaos ruining their recent match with Superiority Complex by interfering and attacking them as they were about to win. They want revenge. Mace shouts into the mic “Chaos uses that Alpha Stone to cut corners and get success but I’m stronger than him”. When Rocket enquires about how the Champions fit into things Mace is critical of Omega creating an awkward moment. He exclaims Omega has no divine right and maybe if he’d done his job properly over the years the Citadel wouldn’t be doing these things. The atmosphere is tense so Rocket asks them about their current quarrel with Entropy and specifically Generation X. Mace retorts they haven’t forgotten about that “a turncoat brother like Metalhead deserves to be taught a lesson. Now those scumbags are holding the belts we will be going after them but our immediate attention is on Chaos and Superiority Complex. Maybe once we beat them then we will be ranked high enough to win those filthy belts from Generation X”. Unfortunately Chaos chooses this point to nonchalantly stroll onto set. Mace squares up to him. Rocket dives between them pleading for no trouble but is shoved aside. Chaos takes a thoughtful breath before speaking “only a coward uses weapons in the ring. I warned you that you were now an enemy of Chaos”. They trade threats and exchange blows. Mace starts to pedal back and looks like he is losing the struggle. Cleverly Dreggs comes up behind Chaos and clamps a sleeper. Chaos tries to break out but starts to fade. Initially he drops to one knee but then forces himself back up and rams Dreggs backwards against the wall does to free himself. Now is when several wrestlers burst onto the set and break it up. Holocaust eventually gets Chaos to back off by warning him that he will get electrified if he comes closer. Mace senses the opportunity of a big match and challenges Chaos to a cage match which is accepted. Cool offbeat feud. Destructon 3000 is eager to smooth things with Omega and says Mace means well but is hot headed and there was no malice in his comments. Omega acknowledges this and wishes Mace luck in his forthcoming match even going so far as offering insider information on Chaos’ wrestling style should they require it.
Card 628 – Aethran War Dome:
Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage match, Thunder and Overkill beat Brute and Massacre. Not wasting anytime these two teams meet early in the new game year and Thakur ramps up the violence. The sounds of metal and stomping boots is deafening as the crowd shows its excitement. Overkill is a man of few words but aims to leave a trail of destruction in 2100. He looks awesome and is very much responsible for stopping his opposite on the Legends team, Brute. TURNBUCKLE TRAP using the barb wire has a draining impact and cuts Brute open. It allows Thunder to come in and pin Brute after THUNDERCLAP. Brute has lost a lot of blood (although everyone is cut open as a result of being thrown into the barbed sides) and will probably be injured having taken the worst of the punishment
The Creeper beats Cycle Hog by count-out. Cycle Hog is riding a bike down the runway followed by his new manager. The tiny grime infested bike is creaking under the weight, he props it against the announcer table and grabs a mic “Hello fans. I’ve had optimal preparation. Cannibal has added calories to my diet and is encouraging my boozing to reach my fighting weight. I’m in the best shape ever. You are in for a treat and when I win bacon butties are on me!” Having transitioned into a villain Hog believes he may have a rapport with the violent crowd but they stand silently in the face of his antics. All they care about is the Civil War. The match gets underway at a snail pace. In a disgusting move Cycle Hog burps in the Creeper’s face and then throws it into the buckle before waddling over and pushing his hairy sweaty armpit right into the Creeper’s nose. Probably for the best the Creeper didn’t understand these revolting actions. Cannibal finds it hilarious. It’s not pretty with both fumbling through the bout. Hog is slow as molasses as he misses a shoulder tackle. He looks totally stuffed and about the only time he hit a move it was some kind of belly whoop. In all honesty the Creeper was the superior technician here and that’s all you need to know when summing up the quality. Hats off to Terak though who is also here watching the Creeper’s back. He makes a smart move by opening a bag and pulls out some fried chicken. The aroma gets under Cycle Hog’s nose and he rushes out to gorge on it. Cannibal is trying to usher Hog back but trying to move someone who is nearly 600 pounds is impossible and they lose the match
Enigma won against Stalker. This was meant to be for the IP belt booked ever since Stalker’s heroics at STRIVE TO SURVIVE but now it’s just a match for honour after a sharp downturn in Enigma’s fortunes. Enigma is dripping in finesse with his silky aerial attacks as he puts his recent bad run behind him. It is glorious to watch but at the same time he is a cheating scoundrel heavily reliant on Darkos to make openings for him. Stalker on the other hand often refuses Terak’s offers to accompany him preferring to wrestle solo (his nomadic lifestyle is why he is used to fending for himself). On this occasion there is no need for Darkos as Enigma is largely in control. FEET OF FURY gets used unsuccessfully twice and Stalker does make a good comeback but it’s brief. Enigma gets back on the offence trying his finisher again and third time is a charm
Monad pinned Defender of the Realm after DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE. Defender and Monad were killing time before they met and clash in the gym. Defender accuses Monad of hogging the training weights working all four arms. When Monad refuses to put two of them down Defender squirts a drinks bottle in it’s face. It gets a bit feisty and some Aethran bodybuilders wade in (although they seemed to make things worse). Defender comes into the ring sporting a fat lip from the fracas. He is still hyper from the early altercation and irritates Mutant who has been brought out in a bodyguard role. Whilst Mutant can respond to it’s own name it remains difficult to control (especially when agitated) and runs wild. The match is only two moves old when Defender floors Monad and goes for the pin. Mutant comes in to protect Monad but gets chased by Defender. In a ridiculous scene Defender is now running around the ring trying to get Mutant. Round and round they go with Defender giggling hysterically. Monad watches for a while before deciding enough is enough. He jumps outside and cuts him off nearly taking Defender’s head off as he runs straight into a clothesline. Then pitches him back in the ring and unleashes another clothesline for good measure. It then kneels on Defender and strikes a muscular pose as the ref lays on the count. Defender is motionless and makes no struggle
Cassandra coasted to victory against Maxine Babe. Was it wise to book a ladies match on Aethra as the crowd turns it’s back to show their disdain for the opposite sex. The only reason they tolerated the previous bout was because it had a bearing on the Civil War. Cassandra is carrying an injury but still confident she can outwrestle a tramp like Maxine Babe. At first she won’t even allow Maxine into the ring as she brings out her whip and lashes the ropes anytime she tries to get in. It’s all part of a psychological game to intimidate. Cassandra eventually lets her opponent into the ring and really means business. Maxine Babe barely gets a look in and is rapidly disposed of via WHIPS AND CHAINS
Lepus Stun Rod match, Amazonia defeated Thrash after using the rod. Amazonia is a dab hand with the stun rod and delivers a crucial Legends victory. The ref has barely held her arm aloft when Overkill shows up and steps over the top rope casting a huge shadow over Amazonia. He moves menacingly towards Amazonia who backs towards a corner. She seems to be trapped with nowhere to go but Overkill doesn’t lay a glove on her preferring to keep her cornered and intimidated. Wolf rushes towards the ring followed by the other Gladiators which of course brings in the Vanguard. All the Gladiators are involved in the brawl until Thakur shows up and the ring empties. Amazonia has fled but the remaining Gladiators remain ringside as Thakur addresses them with sword removed from it’s sheath to emphasise his point. He admonished them for their transgressions and threatened swift penalties if there is a repeat later on.

GWF REPORT (CIVIL WAR 2100 CARDS 625 - 628)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Janus (Top Contender: Exo-King) * GWF Tag Champs: Generation X (Top Contenders: Pillars of Power) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: US. Patriot (Top Contender: Solider of Fortune)
Latest News:
Uproar, the Citadel got paid for GALACTICAID. When Omega and the GWF confirm and provide proof they paid them nothing, the gang or individual behind the Kronoscam leak is suspected for it’s involvment. Commissioner Carter issues an emergency press conference “this is a dirty business we are trying to deal with. Thieves and gangsters are trying to destabilise the GWF but they will not win. This may be my last year as Commissioner but I am determined to protect the future prosperity of this great federation. Omega and some of other managers have offered a shared responsibility to help. Together we will uncover this”. Morpheus is chased down for comment by Johnny Rocket (who is now being paid by the GWF to help uncover the offender). Morpheus gives him a wink and says “If you’ve got the cash, then I got the time”. Rocket refuses but in a slip of the tongue (or maybe an honest mistake) says “I’m not giving you any more cash. What you’ve done has caused waves and even the UFSP is looking closely at the GWF. Maybe you’re not to blame entirely but if you can give me a lead I promise complete confidentiality until the whole mystery is uncovered and more importantly will ensure no charges are brought against you or your team”. It’s not good press for Morpheus who is also an object of hate for the way he and Janus orchestrated the downfall of Alpha Force to get the Heavyweight belt back into the Citadel. In the space a month the position of power has swung heavily back towards the villains as the two main belts change hands. Also with their domination of STRIVE TO SURVIVE still very fresh in people’s minds the villains are marching strong, can the heroes respond?
Splatter tops a popularity chart in an extreme wrestling journal. He gave Bishop Hell a real lottery hiding which caused a stir but a positive one in the wrestling community. It was probably the most bloody beating Splatter has ever dealt out. Bishop Hell had it coming. Splatter also unsuccessfully tried to sideline Dynamo (instead accidentally striking Cassandra but that’s another story) . The Brotherhood seems to suffer more than most teams because the Overlord keeps fiddling with his line up but he is now being forced into another possible change. Who will he select as his singles star whilst Bishop Hell is recuperating? Ram is trying to kick Bishop Hell whilst down by saying he cannot be trusted to lead the team because things like this happen to him. Having led the Brotherhood to success late last year against the Titans in a Battlezone match Ram thinks the Overlord should be sticking with him as their singles hope rather than sideline him in a tag team called Crypt of Terror which is going nowhere.
Early indications of how big the awaited Max Shield and Mandrill feud is going to be. Mandrill attacked Max after his debut match on Deimos leaving him floating unconscious in the water. There was no lasting damage but Mandrill is trying to make a statement and show Max who is the boss in their feud. Excerpt from Mandrill who is boasting to some other villains “that was just the beginning. I am a new threat on the level of Chaos and I’ll show you guys that I mean business. If Max Shield decides his final resting place will be in the GWF then so be it. Along with my Colonizers I will crush Max and whoever he brings into his pathetic Genesis team”. For his troubles Mandrill was fined and also banned from being on Deimos a part from wresting in a match for 3 months. He has caught the notice of Chaos already and the big man is open to linking up as tag partners at some stage to face common scum.
Generation X pulled off a huge shock to win the tag belts. Millenium fails to defend the belts even once meaning their reign goes unrecognised in the record books. Questioned on whether they intend to challenge again for the belts the answer is no. Colussus says the team will not be completely dissolved as they want to continue but only on a sporadic basis. The official Champions tag team is the Gamemasters and whilst both Colussus and Heracles have enjoyed their run teaming both men aren’t entirely cut out for tag action and have singles aspirations to fulfil. Generation X are already totally disrespecting the belts and the GWF will be hoping a team comes forward and dethrones them as soon as possible. US. Patriot has told the GWF he is keen to start teaming with Justice in the new FDF team called Sam’s Squadron as well as keep defending his IP belt. He wants to add a second belt to his collection. The GWF is not always been keen on wrestlers trying to hold two belts as they feel the commitments of champions are too great (remember there are plenty of promotional demands ontop of actual title defences) but are willing to make an exception for him and have agreed to start ranking the new team. Of course as soon as they have done that it has opened the door for others to do the same and Soldier of Fortune is now making strong designs on the IP belt as well as the tag team belts.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING LEGENDS is up next with a double show booked. Matches taking place on Kronos with stars of the future involved (year 3000) against the current era and a big supplementary GWF show. However the recent corruption and result leaks have put the event in jeopardy. It’s not entirely clear whether it will go ahead. The GWF is working around the clock with the UFSP to ensure things happen as planned but there need to be assurances over the security measures in place. Whatever happens there will also be a feast of action taking place at Europa Garden with the regular GWF matches occurring. Match ups being kept under wraps for now. More details to come soon …
CIVIL WAR WATCH - The Gladiator Vanguard is leading after a strong finish to 2099. During the past month honours were even until the card at the War Dome where the Vanguard team of Thunder and Overkill won a massive Barb Wire Cage bout over Brute and Massacre. Leaves the Legends with a lot of work to do. Thakur makes a speech on Aethra announcing the next GALACTICON card will feature the second and final Aethran Ultimate Escape match between the two teams. He then mentions the old minister of war, Dirge the Decapitator, who is rumoured to of passed away (Aethrans are very secretive and will not make such news public if it is true). He describes how the current team of Gladiators would have humiliated him for their efforts and it is his duty to honour past Aethran greats by ensuring continued Gladiator success in the GWF and punishing failure. He specifically singles out the Legends team staring that they don’t have much time to repair the damage. His words are another blow to the likes of Brute and Massacre and has them sweating (note to history buffs - their feared finisher actually is named after Dirge but it has rarely been used in the last year).
WHOSE HOT - Janus, Soldier of Fortune, Exo-King, Pillars of Power, Generation X, Thunder and Overkill WHOSE NOT - Alpha Force, Rising Sun, Vanity, Mayhem, Doomsayer, New Order, Superiority Complex INJURED – Pulsar Prime (?); Cassandra (1); Brute (3); Bishop Hell (5) SUSPENDED – none
Wrestler of the Month: SOLDIER OF FORTUNE - Rose above all the hype surrounding Rising Sun’s debut to stop the Titan star in singles action. It was a particulary brutal statement that made the Hitmen feared again and then contributed to a big win for the Mercenaries over New Order. Krakan says if US. Patriot is allowed to challenge for two belts then why can’t Soldier of Fortune too. As a result a shot at the IP belt awaits.
Tag Team of the Month: THUNDER AND OVERKILL - There is no playing down the impact Overkill has made since his arrival. He pulverized Pharoah Khety in singles action and then he and his partner, Thunder, won a huge cage match against Brute and Massacre. Thunder deserves his award too after he and Vengeance won a tag match against Wolf and Spike. The Legends should be worried as the Vanguard now look very strong.

FED FLASHBACK ... Episode 6 ... ACTS OF VIOLENCE
More time capsule tussling from the WAR GAMES 2093 era as an untelevised house show was held at Achernar Technodrome with the Masked Assassins and Hitmen controversially attacking the Titans.
Double Jeopardy (Thantos and Bounty Hunter) wins against the Greek Gods by DQ. Solaris was never really one to put himself at ringside during his managerial time but on this occasion he appears to help guide and inspire the Gods. Thantos laughs at the sight of him and calls him a crusty old doddering fool. Thantos tried to take himself out of the firing line by staying on the apron for most of the bout but gets pulled in the ring during a brawl and the ref mistakes him for the legal man in. He cannot get out as the Greek Gods really turn the screw on him. By the time he does make the hot tag he is looking pretty beat up. The Gods fare less well against Bounty Hunter and Proteus is a little too pumped up. Solaris attempts to calm him down but this is no time for meditation and Proteus finds himself having to protect him. As Bounty Hunter and Reynard B. Guile close on him Proteus decides to show his hand first by arming himself with the nearest weapon (which happens to be a floating camera) and as soon as he does that the trigger happy ref calls on the bell
Lord Nexus beat Dreadnaught by DQ. Tongsoon (who at the time was feuding with Dreadnaught in an internal struggle) is skulking around the venue and calls it a pitiful effort by his rival. Dreadnaught bites back, “look who has crawled out from under his rock. Got nothing better to do than stalk me?”. Indeed there was some truth in Tongsoon’s statement as Lord Nexus was easily the better wrestler throughout the match and looked well on the way to winning. TITAN DROP a couple more times would surely of spelt the end for Dreadnaught. Not that Dreadnaught will care as the outcome will be a low priority for him
Elimination Match, Darkos and the Hitmen beat Quasar and Titan Express. Darkos brings his Assassins back to his regular haunt. He has starred in many a play inside this very venue. Krakan takes no orders from Darkos during the match. The order of eliminations are - Pulsar Prime over Splatter by DQ; Darkos lulls Quasar into taking a DQ loss; Pulsar Prime tears up the script by beating Darkos with WHIRLWIND; Krakan sets up a grandstand finish as he eliminates Dragonmaster with HITMAN’S CARD; Krakan tries the same move on Pulsar Prime a couple of times but despite being exhausted Pulsar keeps himself going. But it’s only delaying the inevitable and Krakan wins the match with a running jackhammer. As the Titans try to leave the ring the Hitmen jump them from behind and give them a real going over. Darkos is on the mic as it happens “I decided to give my fans a special performance tonight. I call this particular scene ‘Acts of Violence’. Can you guess how it might end?”
The opening 3 bouts were all booked as Titan Death Matches:
Bishop Hell undeservedly beats Battering Ram. One way traffic as Battering Ram destroys Bishop Hell but still loses. Bishop Hell only needs one opportunity to strike and unleashes HELLFIRE to stop Battering Ram. Pandemonium in the aftermath as Bishop Hell reacts to fan barracking and uses his fiery move to set a fan banner alight. Creates sweltering heat and smoke comes pouring out the crowd. Bishop Hell laughs at the panic the furnace created. Everyone is safely evacuated but Bishop Hell cops a colossal fine. The GWF doesn’t want news of the incident getting out and makes no mention of it on future broadcasts (until now)
Galactic Punisher strolls to a win against Vanity. Not Vanity’s night as he trips over his own robe climbing into the ring and is then beaten in just a few moves culminating in Punisher Smash
Great opener as Mad Jester defeated the Creeper. The Mad Jester is wise cracking and spouting ridiculous limericks as he seeks to put the Creeper off it’s game. What he doesn’t really get is that the Creeper barely understands what he is saying and ignores it all. When he finally gets down to serious business it’s a surprisingly decent battle with Creeper as usual fighting on it’s instincts. Mad Jester just about gets the better of it after nailing JAGGED EDGE.

DARK MATCHES ... from Spica Pyramid
(GWF tests some matches before unleashing them on TV. One of the biggest is an early meet between Max Shield and Mandrill in the main event spot to get a feel for the feud intensity and drawing power)
Mandrill defeated Max Shield by DQ. First blood to Mandrill but it’s a meaningless win. Max Shield accidentally caught the ref necessitating a changeover. Mandrill milks the situation and constantly gets in the new ref’s ear about it and saying Max shouldn’t of put his hands on a GWF official. Perhaps it had an influence on his decision as Max is soon penalised as he is identified as the chief instigator of an outside skirmish. Both were equally to blame but Max was unlucky. Slow start to the feud. Hardly a classic but you could feel the intensity and background to it
Special ref Massif, Sam’s Squadron win a thriller over the Pillars of Power. The new FDF team gets off the mark. Lots of action with Justice missing SHOCK PROBATION twice to put his team at risk. Thankfully US. Patriot is in hot form and he puts Powerhouse away with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. Plenty of heat between Massif and Powerhouse. They fronted up during the match but no blows happened. It happened when Powerhouse bumped Massif and accuses of favouring the FDF. Somehow calm heads prevailed but prob had more to do with US. Patriot attempting to put a hold on Powerhouse and diverting attentions back onto the match at hand. Must be said that Massif does seem very chummy with Commander Sam though and spent lots of time chatting with him before and after the show. He gets angry when his impartiality is called into question. So much so that when Cassandra continued to challenge him with spurious accusations shortly after the bell he put her across his knee and delivered a spanking. For a minute Powerhouse looked like he might come to her aid but as he finds her a bit annoying he left her to take the punishment. US. Patriot is upbeat about this new team and says they are embarking on a quest for tag team greatness
Vyper pinned Soldier of Fortune after VYPER’S SIDESHOW. Nobody at ringside which allowed this match to develop nicely. They serve up a really good match which could of gone either way. Vyper has to come through THE REVENGER twice. Vyper is impressing in his new hero role and had some fab new moves on display such as Snake Spinesmasher and Predator Pounce. Definitely one to watch
Rising Sun pinned Pharoah Khety. High tempo opening shows how keen Rising Sun is to get victories under his belt but he runs into endless frustration against Khety. With the Overlord guiding Khety they pull every trick in the book to stall and disrupt Rising Sun’s rhythm. Even when he hit SUNSET SPECTACULAR the Overlord was on hand to ensure it didn’t mean the end for his man. There was even a very brief moment when Khety slapped on Pharoah’s Figure Four and everyone held their breath. Fortunately Rising Sun turned it around and after what seemed a huge effort took the pin after a moonsault press. A needed win but much harder work than anticipated
Splatter overcame Terak. Splatter comes out swinging but the ref quickly demands that he hand over all weapons. Hamstrung by no weapon it gives Terak a better chance against Splatter. Terak does alright until he decides to try and outbrawl Splatter which is a mistake and loses his momentum. He takes a few meaty blows which are probably on the mind when he then runs straight into the turnbuckle and gets pinned
Generation X beat the Henchmen by DQ. Titles not on line here. Match barely gets going when Marcel de Sade picks up Metalhead’s guitar and tries to break it. Chaotic stuff as both teams then brawl to the back.
DARK MATCHES ... from Charon Ice Castle
Max Shield and Cannibal slug out a double DQ, Max (love this guy’s card mechanic) wrestling as many matches as possible to build up his experience. Cannibal tells Max to hurry up as he wants to get back to his team base because Cycle Hog and Draconian Sheik are making them all soup tonight for dinner. Anyone hearing that would shudder at the thought. Max tried to oblige by tearing straight into Cannibal. What he finds is a surprising amount of resistance. Cannibal has lost a step in recent months but is still a very dangerous opponent. He gets the upper hand very early and continuously tries THROAT SLIT and the ref is either blind or just not caring as he is allowed to get away with it five times in total. However this is where Cannibal seems to be down on his abilities as he lacks the intensity to finish Max with it. The battle goes on and with both getting more and more hyped up it moves outside, up the runway, back down again and across the announcers table. It’s obvious the ref is one of those that likes to let stuff go but even he had to now draw the line. He signals the bell and disqualified them both
Enigma dazzles to beat Rising Sun. Classic battle between the two biggest risk takers in the GWF. Darkos had wound Rising Sun up back in the press conferences by calling him the poor man’s version of Enigma. Here was a chance to get his Titan career going and stick those words down his throat. Breathtaking stuff as they unfurl an amazing sequence of moves. It’s not a long match but packs so much in. Rising Sun is devastated to lose having had some fantastic moments but Enigma survives SUNSET SPECTACULAR (and numerous pin attempts) to fight back with FEET OF FURY
US. Patriot overcomes several dramas to beat Doomsayer. This is non title and Adam chooses not to wear his IP belt and leave it at home. Instead Ms. Liberty is brought to ringside with her husband. Being on the road so much it’s the only way they can often spend time together. Trouble is it is always dangerous when she is at ringside, whilst she has proven how she can look after herself there is always the possibility of becoming a target. Indeed that is what happens here several minutes in. Doomsayer knows this is Adam’s achilles and arranges for the Mutant to approach her with a fragrant flower bouquet. Doomsayer nods at the confused looking Mutant who is following a basic instruction. It gets closer and closer to Ms. Liberty. Adam warns her from the ring to be careful but she pensively reaches to accept the gift only to drop them in disgust. In the middle there is putrid meat and maggots. She screams which then spooks Mutant who starts scuttling round the ring after her. The smell permeating is rancid. Eventually she disappears up the runway towards the apparent safety of Commander Sam who is waiting in front of the curtain. Adam is distracted by all this and doesn’t see Doomsayer coming behind him. He gets clobbered which leads to FUTURESHOCK and so nearly costs him the match. It’s a testament to how high calibre of a wrestler Adam is nowadays that he is able to survive and work his way back into the match. His own finisher misses the mark a couple of times itself though and Adam then nearly gets scuppered by a hurt ref. As he tries to revive him Doomsayer shows a surprising turn of speed to come up behind with a roll up on which there is a miraculous recovery and a close two count. Adam steps it up again and thwarts this brief renaissance from Doomsayer peppering him with attacks high and low and goes for ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST again. This time it sticks and the crowd cheers a popular victory
Stalker beats Death’s Head in a lively test of the first Milky Way Falls Count Anywhere Match. Fan reaction is great and it seems they crave more hardcore matches in the GWF. Given the action it’s amazing they both last as long as they did clocking up 10 tokens between them. There is a near fall for Stalker after a power bomb in a dressing room, scoop slams into souvenir stands and the pair of them just generally kicking each other all over the arena with an array of cool and clever moves using the assorted props that take residence in a GWF venue. Somehow the actual action manages to end itself back inside the ring. Death’s Head goes for a whip into the ropes but is caught by Stalker coming back at him with a speedy sunset flip to nick the win
The Gamemasters beat Crypt of Terror by DQ. The two legends get away with one here after Ram bodyslams Star Warrior into a video screen and blows the match. CURSE OF KHETY was used on Thantos and he even had to avoid RAM CHARGE. By comparison the Gamemasters offered very little of a threat and nearly tumbled to a shock defeat. The Overlord lamenting Ram for his over zealousness
The Zodiac wins against Colussus and Holocaust by DQ. An oddball team but both Colussus and Holocaust have found friendship due to backgrounds involving persecution towards their races and the way they look. Their starring roles in the GWF have put them on the map and given them hope. This link up is their way of celebrating that. Trouble is as we’ve seen so many times before two superstars don’t necessarily make a great team and can flounder against a seasoned duo. Colussus and Holocaust would probably demolish Mesmer and Gemini in singles action but here it is different. The Overlord maybe weird and annoying but he coaches the Zodiac perfectly and helps guide them to a sneaky but important victory as Colussus tries to take out his frustrations on him.
