I'll work on something this week if I get the chance while doing con prep. Will see if I can track down some bootleg Matt and Jeff Hardy cards and alter them somewhat.

12 minutes of my life gone. Wasted away. Wow!! One of the stupidest matches ever.

Okay, I'm going to try and take one for the team, watch the match and do my best to stat them out, though the movesets will be for the FD match and not necessarily ones they use outside it.

I enjoyed the whole saga. It is cool that others did not but I just shake my head at comments I have seen elsewhere where people act like they were trying to be serious and did bad acting. Just shows they did not get it. Matt overacted and was over the top on purpose. Best description I heard was he was channeling his inner Toecutter from Mad Max. I say the whole thing was mixing soap opera with telenovella plus a touch of reality TV. Those drone camera shots from above remind me of something you see on a reality show. My favorite time in wrestling was WCW at its height because they had a bit of something different for everyone. That is what I want in my wrestling. Solid quality matches. Humor segments. High spot matches. Hardcore matches. And some crazy segments like the Deletion or the segments with Decay. If nothing else I hope this does inspire WWE to do something great with the Wyatt family. Get them to reach the potential we all saw when they debuted. I didn't LOVE the whole Broken Matt / Brother Nero saga (if it is even complete) but I get what they were doing and appreciate the effort to do something different for their characters and wrestling in general. It was so obviously meant to NOT be taken as seriously as many angles in wrestling, I'm surprised that so many people seem to have not understood. The overacting and bizarre nature of the whole thing reminded me of video games like Deadly Premontion. The telenovela comparison is a good one as well. I am also in the camp of 1996-1998 WCW being my favorite era of wrestling, though their hardcore matches were complete garbage... just like WWE's. Sometimes I wonder if it was just because I was the right age at the right time but I can still get so much enjoyment out of going back and rewatching matches and segments from that era. I think I could enjoy it just as much if I was watching it for the first time right now. I think I'd enjoy Lucha Underground a lot too if I took the time to watch it. Honestly, if they put it on NetFlix I'd have watched the entire run by now.

Honestly, if they put it on NetFlix I'd have watched the entire run by now. Exactly. There are lots of things in wrestling, or even entertainment, that I do not like per say but I can appreciate what they are trying to do. Matt is trying to tap into non traditional wrestling fans to try and grow their audience. Yea the hardcore matches were the only thing I did not like during that time as it was obvious WCW was trying to cash in on the ECW craze while at same time not really giving them appreciation. At least there was Raven and Raven's Rules matches that were hardcore but not part of WCW's hardcore matches if that makes sense. Yea you should try and find a way to watch LU because right now they might be the best show on US TV from an over all aspect.
