I swear, WWE creative is like a kid with a dollar who can't wait to spend it sometimes. Had the perfect setup to build towards a monumental Styles vs. Cena matchup at WM 33, so what do we do? Bring Cena back 2 days after AJ wins the title to confront him. Don't get me wrong, promo with Cena, Ambrose and AJ was very entertaining, but I personally think Ambrose looking to take his title back could have held us for a month or so. Maybe have AJ progress to someone else after that and then have Cena return at the Rumble, win it and challenge Styles at Mania. But...NO!

Agreed
When I heard Cena's music play I just said why? I really hope he doesnt win the title and tie Ric Flairs record. He doesn't need it

Cena would need another 10 reigns to match Flair, his title being more in the 23 to 25 range. But then there is Jerry Lawler who has 30 plus reigns. No worries here.

Officially Cena is one away from Flair. Thats been long established. Thats why Jon Stewart interfered at Summerslam last year.
I can't see Cena winning now. I do see him winning at Mania 33 and tying the record in the same stadium Flair retired from WWE in.

As someone that was there for that moment, I sort of see that as a bit of an insult.

I had to laugh when John Cena came out to interrupt AJ Styles only because it seems that Cena gets a title shot whenever he wants it. As the former champion Dean Ambrose deserves his rematch before Cena gets a shot, you know the same way Cena always gets his immediate title rematches. To say I was relieved when Ambrose came out would be an understatement as I really thought that they were thinking of pushing Ambrose down a notch and putting Cena in his spot. Once Ambrose got involved things got real interesting and now I am looking forward to the Triple Threat Match at No Mercy. As for Cena tying Ric Flair (16 is the number they go with for Flair) I really don't want to see that happen but it is inevitable.
