Best business model for solo fed

I am looking for some suggestions regarding a simple to use business model for a solo fed. I just order D my first set of cards and the game this past weekend and want a somewhat realistic model to implement so I can either have a realistic growth pattern that will allow me to build the fed or have it fail and force me to start again. I don't mind if it's salaries or appearance fees just something fun, easy to track and challenging.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
