Am I alone in thinking this guy is horrible? So many mistakes, and not just referring to the Elimination Chamber as Hell In A Cell last night. They kicked Lawler to the curb for this guy???

He certainly has his limitations, but I would happily take him over Cole or the idiotic JBL.

His wild outbursts every few minutes are truly awful.

I'm a huge Mauro fan. Have been for a super long time.

I liked him a lot better when he was calling PRIDE, honestly. He wasn't even this bad when he was doing the New Japan show on AXS.

I like his announcing style--a throwback to the days of Gordon Solie--but he makes too many mistakes for someone who supposedly grew up as a fan. Makes me wonder if he has a script to memorize like the talent, and he sometimes forgets what he's supposed to say. I've seen too many wrestlers in recent years get tongue-tied in promos because they're trying to remember their next line--and they didn't even head butt the locker room door first! I miss the old days where promos and even the matches were improv. How many older wrestlers have talked about how they knew the finish, but they made up everything leading up to it during the match? When they did that, the announcers didn't know what was coming up next so they had to react to it as it happened.

It's not like Mauro's got a script in front of him telling him every move that's coming.
