Shinsuke's gonna take it off him at Summerslam. But for now, we should all just enjoy the ride, ya know? We as fans ask for different all the time. We got different. If everything is as good as this match was, with the bad guy shenanigans and such, Jinder's gonna make a good heel champ.

Maybe I'm over thinking it, but it kind of seems like Vince decided to jump on the silly "Americans hate brown people" narrative the fake news have beem pushing, and troll Trump critics for his bro by hot shoting an angry Indian guy and his equally silly "you all hate me because I'm brown" gimmick into the spotlight. Its super lame, rushed and out of nowhere, but that seems to be Vince's goal here. Anything to ride the coattails of MSM attention.

On a brand that has AJ Styles fighting for a secondary title, and Mahal as the champ, your theory is quite plausible Swarm. This might actually be an ounce of creativity by WWE. I doubt it came from the minds of Hayes and Road Dogg--two cats that could not find creative, let alone be creative.

There's apparently two sides to this Jinder situation. To India, he's cutting face promos and being presented as such. Everywhere else, they want him to get booed. To my knowledge, they haven't done stuff like that before. It's pretty cool to me.

I remember they did this with Bret Hart and with Alberto Del Rio.

I remember they did this with Bret Hart and with Alberto Del Rio. You are correct, though Alberto Del Rio doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same quote as Bret Hart.

The biggest motivating factor behind this decision is probably that they want to try to open up India as a market again. Having Jinder as WWE Champion would help, although I don't see SD attendance being particularly strong in the states with him as champion. Honestly, they've got two good options for dethroning Jinder to end his reign and they're AJ and Cena. I'd say Nakamura because he's really over but I don't have a tremendous amount of confidence in him as a main event babyface given how phoned in (and terrible to be completely honest) most of his stuff has been since coming to WWE. It's like Muta, how he knows he only needs to do character stuff to be over because that's all that matters...except Muta actually pretended to give a shit (and after a certain point occasionally really did give a shit) once the bell rang.

They did something similar with Khali as well. And no I am in no way whatsoever trying to put Khali anywhere near Hart's level.
