As if I needed another reason to dislike this douchebag, his Twitter attack on Indy wrestlers really seals the deal for me. A classic case of a spoiled brat who was born into the "business". A ridiculous 13-time World champion who mails it in every match and then brags about his paycheck while ridiculing "a standing room only crowd of 150 in some armory." Not everyone is born with that silver spoon, Randy. Some guys actually EARN their place. What an ass.

He wasn't bashing every indie guy. The 'attack' was aimed at the fans/wrestlers who got pissy with him for quote tweeting that Rip Rogers tweet and him telling Bubba Dudley there's a difference between young athletic guys doing dives and old, out of shape vets falling onto guys. Personally I thought the whole thing was hilarious.
Also FYI, here's the tweet that started the whole shitstorm.
Rip was sent that by an indie wrestler, btw.

I prefer it when every match ends with an RKO and Ortiz mounts the turnbuckle to celebrate

Didn't mind the initial tweet, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But that "apology", where he mocked guys busting their asses in hopes of getting to where he is, really pissed me off. Confirmed every negative thought I had about him and worst of all, has left me with no choice but to become a fan of Jinder Mahal...

While I agree with the initial tweet in part, I also feel that Orton's matches have degenerated into clothesline, clothesline, snap-powerslam, DDT off the ropes (which he must do EVERY match), RKO, which is pretty much what he's slamming the indies for.

A repetitive match that's worked using moves that are generally safe and a repetitive match that's worked using moves that carry a high risk of something going wrong aren't 'pretty much' the same thing. I would much rather see someone go overboard in front of 150 people than mail it in every match in front of 15,000. I would much rather watch Orton vs. AJ from SmackDown than anything that's happened on the indies in the last year and a half, maybe more. Then again, I'd rather watch Ishikawa vs. Doering from the Champion Carnival final than anything that's happened in America in years but that doesn't have anything to do with anything. I love super physical matches more than anyone here (my avatar is a guy who nearly killed himself doing a headbutt), but there's a time and a place for everything. Also I find the idea that Orton got where he did purely because he's third generation to be kind of nuts. He's been on the main roster for 15 years and has been at the top of the card for 13 of those years. You don't get that kind of a run because of your bloodline. You know how I know that? Look at all the other second/third gen guys who were hired purely because they were second/third gen who ended up being complete gargage. If being a successful second or third gen wrestler is because of bloodline alone and not talent, does that mean Randy Savage, Bret Hart, The Rock, Curt Hennig, Nick Bockwinkel and Barry Windham didn't earn their spots because they were born into the business or are you just singling Orton out because he took a shot at indie workers? In regards to him 'mailing it in every match', that's disingenuous. He certainly didn't mail it in against AJ Styles on SmackDown going into WM, didn't really mail it in against Luke Harper either. A few years ago I saw someone comparing him to Barry Windham in the sense that he only puts forth an effort when he has a good opponent. I think it's a valid comparison even if I do think Windham's higher end matches are much higher than Orton's. Orton is a legendary dickhead to be sure, we've all known that for years, but the 'he's only where he is because of his bloodline' shit is as stupid now as it was in a decade ago. ..........headlock

Totally singling Orton out because he took a shot at Indy workers. Don't feel he has a right to mock them or their fans because he's never been an Indy worker.
