Totally singling Orton out because he took a shot at Indy workers. Don't feel he has a right to mock them or their fans because he's never been an Indy worker. ...pescado So what was OVW, then? It was an independently owned and operated company and Orton worked for them before going to the main roster. I'm aware that Orton's contract was with the WWF/E but OVW was an indie company, albeit not what would be considered an indie company in 2017 since they ran more shows than pretty much any active indie runs now. ...shooting star 450 ddt

Lucifer, I often agree with you, but on this count you are off base.
While I am not a big fan of Orton (mainly because I am an honorably discharge veteran and he well, was not). But he learned the ropes in OVW, which was not WWE owned. Orton wrestled in front of small crowds and learned his craft. His maturity issues aside, he earned his spot. Yes, his bloodline likely got him a long look--just as it has Bo Dallas and the truly dreadful Bray Wyatt. Further his "shot" was no worse than the smarks make on a daily basis.

See that's my point exactly. I don't mind a "smark" making a comment about Indy wrestling because most of those guys eat, sleep and breathe to make comments about Indy wrestling, while Orton could care less about it. Much like I don't have an issue with either Switch or yourself disagreeing with me. It's what WE do. We're part of this inner circle. And it's cool to banter back and forth, and agree or disagree with one another. Now if somebody came from out of nowhere and started ragging on one of us, I would take offense, because it's not their place in my book. Which is why I had such a problem with Orton making those comments. Not his place to do so.

While I am not the biggest Orton fan in the world, I do recognize he is a natural at the WWE wrestling business. Sure plenty of indie matches are what Rip details, but there are plenty of great indie workers that many will be future WWE wrestlers that are putting on unique compelling matches. Not everyone can get a tryout with WWE right away and have to work up through the indies, something Orton didn't have to do. I'm sure that him being pompus just fans the flames of indie wrestling die hards, and thats something he is happy to do.
