SUPERFLY COMES OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE! Oh, YES! One of the most electrifying visuals in pro wrestling history... And the fact that he used it to finish off the Hot Rod makes it that much more memorable... Definite candidate for Match of the Year...
Also totally stoked that Jannetty & Lane managed to qualify for this year's World Tag League... Beating two tanks like Warlord & Rhino (with Jimmy Hart in their corner, no less) is an awesome way to start building up momentum towards the competition to come...
Cool that Marty Scurll's title run is still going strong... The Villain is proving himself just as crafty as the most devious minds in the business... And I've gotta wonder if Sensational Sherri might consider defecting to Villain Enterprises - Those two would make quite a pair...
Another awesome show, my friend... Good times!

Card 1236 took a while to get going but the second half of the show was great. Main event blow off between Piper and Snuka was a better finish then Vince was able to pull off back in the day. Love the heat building around Rose and Mattel. Classic stuff. Mosca shows Cobb he is the one of the dirtiest in the game.
Great results and entertaining read.

Good to see the Real World Tag League back for another go around, plus The Crusher taking gold off of Blassie is huge. Barry Windham & Davey Richards are a unique but cool tag team and Rock&Roll is forever, plus I like seeing Mosca win...

Just caught up on all cruefan68! Truly Amazing stuff. Loved that A.J. was able to go toe to toe with Bruiser Brody and The Undisputed Era has now evened the score, when Strong comes back they'll be hell to pay. The Real World Tag League will be awesome especially liking the team of Rikidozan and Jim Londos. Not to mention as Crimson Cross mentioned - Really liking the tag team of Richards and Windham. TITLE SHOT...TITLE SHOT...sorry...had to clear my throat there. Snuka winning via SUPERFLY LEAP from the top of the cage over Piper is definitely a candidate for match of the year as Pariah mentioned in my opinion. Spectacular brother man!

Thanks so much for the comments Troy, Pariah, Joebreakdown, Bookerbill, Crimson and Bri. I know I don't post as often as I used to but I appreciate that you check out my stuff when I do. The Snuka vs. Piper steel cage bout was so much fun. I'm kind of sad to see the feud over with but they needed to have some kind of blowoff. I'm hoping to see both men go in different directions even if they both remain in PCW.
Coming up next I have a double shot with World of Sport and SHIMMER action. It's a miracle I got both of those done this past week. Next up will be a big game changing IWA show. I'm not going to list the lineup except to give a reminder that Diamond Dallas Page vs. Christopher Daniels is the main event. I dropped a little hint of things to come on the last IWA card and you will see that play out on this next show building up to IWA Supercard of Honor 4...

8) Chain Match: Martin Stone (UK) defeated One Man Gang (USA) (Pinfall – London Bridge, a rope hung Spike DDT)
Match Highlights: New World of Sport ambassador Henry Irslinger was introduced before the show and received a nice ovation from the crowd. The opening contest saw the loveable Jervis Cottonbelly, the “Worlds Sweetest Man”, taking on WOS newcomer Jonah Rock in six-round action. Cottonbelly frustrated Rock into the second round and then surprised him with The Mickey Mousetrap, a pinning combination, to take a one to nil lead. Rock stormed back in the third round and tied the score when he pinned Cottonbelly with the Brainbuster. The fourth round was barely underway when Rock blitzed Cottonbelly going back to King of Monsters by hitting a crushing Monsta Splash from the top rope for the pin. It was a strong debut win for the punishing Rock in WOS.
Veteran UK star Jody Fleisch out of East London, England, made his WOS debut taking on “The Modfather” Flash Morgan Webster of A Town Called Malice in a highly anticipated bout. This was like a lightning sprint from the opening round and Webster dominated early with moves like the Britpop Drop and Butterfly Collector. He nearly went up one to nil in the third round with The Strangler but Fleisch got to the ropes for a break. It was Fleisch who would take a one to nil lead in the fifth round when he pinned Webster with a rollup after having hit a spectacular Shooting Star Press to the outside. The sixth round saw Webster battling to tie it up, including surviving a 720 DDT by Fleisch, but he was unable to score an equalizing fall giving Fleisch the victory.
“The Kiwi Buzzsaw” Travis Banks out of Auckland, New Zealand, took on Malvern, UK, native Mark Haskins in a hard hitting six-round bout. Haskins took a one to nil lead in the third round when he got Banks to tap out to the Stretch Muffler. Banks fighting from underneath used both the Kiwi Crusher and Lion’s Clutch in the fourth round, but Haskins avoided defeat. After a tense fifth round of action, Banks looked to even it up in the final round, but Haskins surprised him with a Slingshot Small Package for the pin. Haskins took it by a two to nil decision picking up a huge win over Banks.
Six-man tag team action saw Johnny Saint, “Superstar” Bill Dundee and the high-flying Mark Andrews take on the “Belfast Bruiser” Finlay, Nigel McGuinness and the dangerous Tommy End. The first round ended in spectacular fashion as Andrews put his team up one to nil when he pinned McGuinness with a Shooting Star Press. It was a tough go on both sides over the next two rounds with some heated exchanges. Finlay scored the equalizing fall for his team in the fourth round when he pinned Dundee after hitting Rolling Hills. After some more tense action in the fifth round, both teams went into the final round locked in a one-to-one tie. Saint gained the upper hand on McGuinness early and that set up Dundee who stunned him with a big splash before trapping him in an Indian Deathlock. Finlay and End rushed in but were cut off by Saint and Andrews leaving McGuinness in a bad way. McGuinness tried to fight out of it, but Dundee cinched the hold on and scored the submission which gave his team a hard fought two-to-one victory.
Another anticipated bout saw the popular and flamboyant Exotic Adrian Street, accompanied by his valet Miss Linda, take on the equally unpopular Zack Sabre Jr. who along with reigning LOW Junior Heavyweight champion “The Villain” Marty Scurll form LDRS in WOS. Scurll was not at ringside but Sabre Jr. didn’t need him as he met the challenge of Street head on. Street managed to score near falls with the London Bridge Leglock and a counter roll-up out of the corner during the first and second rounds. Sabre Jr. would go up one to nil, though, when he trapped Street in an Inverted Armbar Lock for the submission in round two. Street looked to tie the score in round three, after surviving Orienteering with Napalm Death, but a counter by Sabre Jr. saw him execute the European Clutch, a bridging inverted jackknife, for the pin. Sabre Jr. took an impressive two to nil victory over the veteran Street after three rounds of action.
Veteran star David Taylor out of Queensbury, Yorkshire, England, took on the “Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne of Birmingham, England, in a hard hitting affair crossing three rounds of action. Dunne recently made his debut with WOS and many predict that he will reach the top in no time. Taylor looked to cut off any momentum he could gain but Dunne subdued him with a Triangle Choke for a submission in the second round. That was very impressive and Taylor, perhaps caught off guard, looked to gain an equalizing fall. He scored some early offense in the third round but a well-timed counter by Dunne led to him locking on the Triangle Choke again. Taylor tried to fight out, but Dunne put him under and scored a third round submission and a two-to-nil victory in impressive fashion.
WOS ambassador Henry Irslinger returned and joined the ring announcer in going over the rules for the Real World Tag League II Qualifier pitting Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate) against Irish Airborne (Jake & Dave Crist). Unlike traditional WOS tag team matches, this would be a one fall only affair with a time limit of sixty-minutes. The winning team would gain a spot representing WOS in the big upcoming tournament presented by Kings Road United in Japan. Both teams shook hands at the start before engaging in a terrific back and forth battle. Jake nearly put Seven away with The Suicide but the tough battler from Wolverhampton, England, survived and made a hot tag to Bate. That set up a spectacular finishing sequence after a follow-up exchange by Irish Airborne. Moustache Mountain hit The Summit, a diving European uppercut by Bate combined with a spinning backfist from Seven, on Dave but he somehow kicked out before the three count. Seven then took out Jake preventing a save attempt as Bate hit the Tyler Driver ’97 on Dave to score the pin. Moustache Mountain picked up the win and will now represent WOS in the B Block of Real World Tag League II alongside such teams as Giant Baba & The Destroyer, The Fantastics and the Fabulous Kangaroos.
The main event was a Chain Match pitting Martin Stone of London, England, against the 495-pound One Man Gang out of Chicago, IL. This match was ordered to end the heated rivalry between the two men, one in which Stone used OMG’s own chain against him drawing the wrath of the big man. WOS billed it as non-sanctioned to distance the company from such a barbaric match which goes against the traditional Admiral-Lord Mountevans Rules favored by the company. OMG used his massive size to dominate early, but Stone was able to avoid defeat, including surviving a clothesline with the chain. Stone fought back and wound up busting OMG open with several chain shots and hitting a Thesz Press for a big near fall. The enzuigiri became a favored weapon of Stone who rattled the Gang with it several times. OMG went for the big 747 Splash late, but Stone rolled out of the way in the nick of time. Stone hit a jumping cutter for a near fall and, with a bloody OMG stunned in the corner, he managed to hoist him up for the London Bridge, a rope hung Spike DDT, to score the pin. It was a huge win for Stone, and a signature win at that as he defeated the feared OMG before a happy crowd in Brighton.
WOS Top 10 Rankings:
1) Johnny Saint 2) Martin Stone 3) King Kong Bundy 4) Zack Sabre Jr. 5) Exotic Adrian Street 6) Bill Dundee 7) Pete Dunne 8) Finlay 9) One Man Gang 10) Mark Andrews

SHIMMER - Women Athletes - Volume 55 - The Eagles Club - Berwyn, IL (Card #1238)
Quick Results:
1) Maria Manic defeated Penelope Ford (Pinfall – F5)
2) MsChif, Shotzi Blackheart & Thunder Rosa defeated Kay Lee Ray, Evie & Heidi Lovelace (MsChif pinned Evie – Desecrater, a scissored DDT)
3) Candice LeRae defeated Allysin Kay (Pinfall – Balls Plex)
4) Madison Rayne & Deonna Purrazzo defeated Mia Yim & Athena (Deonna Purrazzo over Mia Yim by submission – Fujiwara Arm Bar)
5) Lufisto defeated Nicole Savoy by DQ
6) Tessa Blanchard & Angelus Layne defeated Nicole Matthews & Sara Del Ray (Tessa Blanchard pinned Nicole Matthews – Double Knee Facebreaker)
7) SHIMMER Tag Team Titles: “Crazy” Mary Dobson & Courtney Rush© vs. Taeler Hendrix & Kelly Klein (with Mademoiselle Rachelle) was a DDQ
8) Heart of SHIMMER Title: Jordynne Grace© defeated Barbi Hayden (with Mademoiselle Rachelle) to retain the title (Pinfall – Snake Eyes - Counter Roll-Up)
Match Highlights: A great opening contest saw Penelope Ford out of Phoenix, AZ, take on Richmond, VA, native Maria Manic. Both women came to SHIMMER from WSU, so they are quite familiar with each other. Ford used her speed advantage to counter the powerful Manic, nearly scoring the pin with a DDT followed by a Northern Lights suplex late in the bout. Manic struck back with a big Alabama Slam and, after a battle on the floor, she pinned Ford with the devastating F5.
Trios action saw popular Glasgow, Scotland, native Kay Lee Ray join forces with Team Slap Happy (Evie & Heidi Lovelace) to take on MsChif, Shotzi Blackheart and Thunder Rosa. All six women were on their game for this one with action taking place in and out of the ring. Late action saw Ray survive a furious assault from MsChif and strike back with the Gory Bomb setting up a tag. Evie battled well against all three opponents before Rosa took her out with a top rope huracanrana. That set up MsChif hitting her second Desecrater of the match on Evie to score the pin.
The fiery Candice LeRae from Anaheim, CA, took on the big and dangerous Allysin Kay who hails from Detroit, MI. Kay has been looking to make an impact as a singles wrestler in SHIMMER after spending a long time in the tag team division. She controlled most of the early action hitting high impact moves like the discus lariat and the power bomb. LeRae had to dig down deep to mount a counter attack so she went to her speed advantage scoring with the tilt-a-whirl headscissors and missile dropkick. She also hit a moonsault for a big near fall. After another stiff attack by Kay, LeRae caught her with a running clothesline from the corner and hit her second Balls Plex of the match to score the pin. Amber Gertner attempted to get an interview with Kay post-match but she angrily brushed past her to jeers from the crowd.
The popular pairing of Mia Yim & Athena have been looking to climb up the tag team rankings in SHIMMER, but they faced a tough roadblock in the combination of Madison Rayne & Deonna Purrazzo. Rayne was particularly effective in this one scoring several near falls, including countering a sitout power bomb by Yim using a Roll Up with Tights. Yim was in trouble late as Athena, the “Wrestling Goddess”, pleaded with her to make the tag. Rayne and Purrazzo prevented that, however, and Rayne nearly pinned her with a Rayne Drop. Rayne, after making a tag, knocked Athena off the ring apron and that set up Purrazzo perfectly as she trapped Yim in the Fujiwara Arm Bar. Yim struggled to get to the ropes but couldn’t and tapped out as Rayne kept Athena from getting back in. It was a big victory for Rayne and Purrazzo and perhaps a statement win for them in the tag team division.
A wild bout saw suplex master Nicole Savoy take on “The Wounded Owl” Lufisto, a two-time former SHIMMER singles and tag team champion. Savoy was on her game early and caught Lufisto with both the Savo Lock and the Dragon Suplex attempting to put her away. She also relied on the suplex hitting both the butterfly and tiger variety. Lufisto withstood the assault and battled back hitting the Code Breaker on Savoy before taking it outside. The two had some rough exchanges on the floor the last of which would decide the match. After Savoy bailed out of the ring, Lufisto followed and the intensity picked up. Savoy took control and ran Lufisto head first into the ring post busting her open and drawing a snake eyes disqualification. The bloody Lufisto won it on a technicality but she was not happy, and she went after Savoy brawling with her post-match until they were separated by SHIMMER officials.
Nicole Matthews has been having plenty of problems with Tessa Blanchard and her associate Angelus Layne leading to a tag team challenge. Matthews promised to deliver a mystery partner, even resulting in speculation that it could be her Canadian Ninjas partner Portia Perez coming out of retirement. Well it wasn’t Perez that she picked but instead it was none other than the reigning SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Ray which drew a big pop from the crowd. Blanchard and Layne were beside themselves in anger and perhaps even a little intimated by having the powerful champion on the opposing team. That resulted in them launching a sneak attack during the introductions with Blanchard blasting Matthews with a chair shot as Layne drove Del Ray out of the ring. The furious start to the match resulted in a quick decision as Blanchard, taking advantage of the stunned Matthews, hit the Double Knee Facebreaker on her and scored the pin. Del Ray made a post-match save for Matthews driving Blanchard outside where she had already left Layne in a heap. It was too little, too late though as Blanchard and Layne chalked up a big win. Matthews was upset over the loss and even shoved Del Ray resulting in a stare down between the two.
The SHIMMER tag team titles were on the line in the semi-final match as “Crazy” Mary Dobson & Courtney Rush put the gold up against Taeler Hendrix & Kelly Klein, two-thirds of “Blonde, Red & Bad Ass” who were accompanied by their manager Mademoiselle Rachelle. It was the first of two consecutive title challenges for B-R-B and Rachelle was hoping to see her clients leave with all the gold. This one got off to a wild start with Dobson hammering away on Hendrix including delivering a big headbutt knocking her out of the ring. Hendrix and Klein made a nice comeback but eventually all four women wound up battling on the outside after Rush had tossed Hendrix to the floor. The referee was unable to get them to return to the ring and he called for the bell ordering a double disqualification. The decision allowed Dobson and Rush to have a successful version two defense of the titles much to the chagrin of Rachelle and her charges.
The main event saw Jordynne Grace defend the Heart of SHIMMER title against the woman she won it from, Barbi Hayden of the “Blonde, Red & Bad Ass” faction. With manager Mademoiselle Rachelle in her corner, Hayden looked extremely confident going into this highly anticipated rematch. Hayden started out strong punishing Grace before missing with a double knee drop. Grace struck back with some high powered offense delivering multiple bodyslams and a Samoan Drop. Hayden was in trouble late and she bailed out of the ring, but Grace followed and continued her attack. The referee showed some leniency as Grace hit Hayden with a chair across the back. Rachelle protested the call and demanded a disqualification win for Hayden. That didn’t work out and the match continued. Hayden regained control and went for a corner charge, but Grace avoided it and executed a Counter Roll-Up for a snake eyes pin. Grace was successful in her version one title defense and was also successful in fending off an attempted post-match attack by B-R-B.
SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak made a special post-show announcement for the return to the Olympic Theatre in Cicero, IL (Card #1252) for a card that is being billed as Wrestling Queendom. The crowd cheered that and Prazak noted that there will be some big surprises that night pending upcoming contract negotiations.
SHIMMER Top 10 Rankings:
1) Saraya Knight 2) Barbi Hayden 3) Tessa Blanchard 4) Nicole Matthews 5) Jessicka Havok 6) Candice LeRae 7) Nicole Savoy 8) MsChif 9) Madison Eagles 10) Kay Lee Ray

Totally stoked that Crazy Mary & 'Rosemary' Rush were able to hang onto the Shimmer tag belts... And the double DQ potentially sets up another encounter between them and the very capable team of Hendrix & Klein... Looking forward to the Wrestling Queendom show and whatever surprises might be in store...
World of Sport always provides some really intriguing action and the latest offering is no exception... Martin Stone looked really tough, beating OMG in a Chain match... As much as I enjoy the Crist brothers, it was cool that Moustache Mountain qualified for the Real World Tag League...
Always great to see you on the boards, my friend... Can't wait for the next IWA show!
