REBEL WRESTLING YEAR 1
Saturday Night Special 43: Louisville Gardens--Louisville, Kentucky
SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL(HOUR 2)
BILL APTER'S "HOT SEAT"
Apter: "Please welcome, your friend and mine, Mr. Les Thatcher!("Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy plays as Thatcher leaves the announce table and enters the ring to cheers.)Les, you came close to beating Jr. Heavyweight Champion Bobby Shane in a Non-Title Match before Sir Oliver Humperdink interfered. Then you got a match with Hump banned from ringside, but Shane attacked you from behind as you were walking to the ring. Because of the circumstances surrounding those losses, fans are demanding that you get another shot at Shane's title. What are your thoughts?"
Thatcher: "I appreciate all the support from the fans, but I'm not going to make excuses like Shane does. I'm not going to whine & complain like he does. He won, and I lost. Now it's time for somebody else to get a title shot."("Princes Of The Universe" by Queen plays as "King Of Wrestling" Bobby Shane walks out to boos.)
Shane: "It's nice to see that you finally accepted the fact that you're nothing but a peasant who needs to bow down to The King. But I have to disagree with you on one thing. I've already beaten all of the top Jr. Heavyweights in Rebel Wrestling. There's no one left to challenge me. I am the King Of The Jr. Heavyweights!"
Apter: "Les, Shane has a point. He's beaten everyone who's challenged him."
Thatcher: "With all due respect, Bill...and to your majesty, there is one very talented wrestler in the Jr. Heavyweight division that King Bobby Shane hasn't faced."
Shane: "What's this peasant's name?"(At that point, glitter falls from the ceiling into the ring. "Run Runaway" by Slade plays as "Exotic" Adrian Street skips to the ring. Fans cheer as Street tosses rose petals to the crowd. Miss Linda follows him with Missing Link on a leash. Street prances around Shane and gooses him! He shakes hands with Thatcher and kisses his cheek. Then he shakes hands with Apter and kisses his bald head.)
Apter: "Adrian, are you challenging Shane for the Jr. Heavyweight Championship?"
Street: "That's right, William. I think that belt would look scrumptious around my waist. Don't you agree, my darling pets?(Fans cheer.)But, I also request that King Robert defends the title in a Triple Threat Match with my dear friend, Lester."(Fans cheer.)
Shane: "No chance in Hell! You don't make the matches around here, you sick freak!"(At that point, "Back In Black" by AC/DC plays as Commissioner Charlie Cox walks out.)
Cox: "For once I agree with you, Shane. Neither Les nor Adrian make matches. I do, and I want to see this Triple Threat Match. It'll happen next week. Good luck, gentlemen."(Shane takes his robe off and throws it to the floor in frustration at Cox's decision.)
MATCH 5: CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Briscoe Brothers(Jay & Mark Briscoe)(C.S.A. Tag Team Champions) vs. Hillbillies(Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Luke): "Mountain Music" by Alabama plays as Cappetta introduces Hillbillies to cheers. "Flirtin' With Disaster" by Molly Hatchet plays as Cappetta introduces Briscoes to boos. Cornette reminds viewers that Jim pinned Mark in a Six-Man Tag last week. As a result, Dem Boys wanted a match with Hillbillies. This was a hard-fought back-and-forth match that ended when Mark hit Luke with CUT-THROAT DRIVER for the 3-count.
Thatcher: "The Briscoes Man Up to retain their Confederate States Tag Team Titles."
Cornette: "These big burly Hillbillies are no match for real wrestlers like the Briscoes."
WINNER: Briscoe Brothers(Jay Briscoe--0 fatigue & Mark Briscoe--1 fatigue) beat Hillbillies(Hillbilly Jim--0 fatigues & Cousin Luke--3 fatigues) when Mark pinned Luke to retain Confederate States Of America Tag Team Championship
MATCH 6: Honor Club("American Dragon" Bryan Danielson & Generation Next: Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) vs. The Shield("Swiss Superman" Claudio Castagnoli, "The Architect" Tyler Black & "Lunatic Fringe" Jon Moxley) in a SIX_MAN TAG TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH: "Smuggler's Blues" by Glenn Frey plays as Cappetta introduces The Shield to boos. They walk through the crowd and enter the ring as a team. "Youth Gone Wild" by Skid Row plays as Cappetta introduces Gen Next to cheers. They stand at the top of the entrance ramp as "The Final Countdown" by Europe plays. Cappetta introduces Danielson to cheers as they all run down the aisle together. Thatcher reminds viewers that The Shield & Fabulous Freebirds injured Honor Club 3 weeks ago. Black hit Strong with a top rope crossbody to the floor, and Strong was counted out. Moxley pinned Aries with running bulldog. That left Danielson all alone against all 3 members of The Shield. Castagnoli got disqualified when he pushed the referee who warned him to stop ramming Danielson's head into the steel rail near the fans when they were fighting out of the ring. Danielson made Moxley tap out to CATTLE MUTILATION. That made it Danielson vs. Black 1-on-1. Danielson put up a good fight, but he fell victim to Black's CURB STOMP for the 1-2-3.
Thatcher: "Tyler Black is the sole survivor of the Six-Man Tag Elimination Match."
Cornette: "That's why he's 'The Architect' of The Shield. He's a master of strategy."
WINNER: The Shield(Claudio Castagnoli--2 fatigues, Tyler Black--2 fatigues & Jon Moxley--0 fatigue) beat Honor Club(Bryan Danielson--2 fatigues & Generation Next: Austin Aries--3 fatigues & Roderick Strong--2 fatigues) when Black pinned Danielson with CURB STOMP to become sole survivor of a Six-man Tag Team Elimination Match
MATCH 7: The T.A.-Team(Rebel Wrestling Television Champion "Mr. U.S.A." Tony Atlas & Magnum T.A.) vs. Hangmen For Hire("Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce & Brent Albright): "Wanted Dead Or Alive" by Bon Jovi plays as Cappetta introduces Hangmen For Hire to boos. "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf plays as Cappetta introduces Magnum to cheers. "Takin' Care Of Business" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive plays as Cappetta introduces Atlas to cheers. Cornette reminds viewers that Hangmen attacked Magnum after his I Quit Steel cage victory over Rick Rude last week. Atlas came to Magnum's aid, but the question remains: who hired Hangmen For Hire to attack Magnum and why? This was an evenly matched back-and-forth contest with several near-falls on both sides. Magnum was finally able to hit BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX on Pearce for the hard-fought win. From out of nowhere, "Dirty White Boy" Bob Roop & "Big Nasty" Angelo Mosca pull Atlas off the ring apron! They beat him up on the floor while Albright hits Magnum from behind in the ring. Dirty & Nasty hold Atlas to make him watch as Albright & Pearce place a hangman's noose around Magnum's neck. They throw Magnum over the top rope to hang him right in front of Atlas! "Pomp And Circumstance" plays as "Macho Man" Randy Savage slowly walks to the ringside area. He takes Cappetta's mic and stands in front of Atlas and says, "I know what you're thinking, and you're right. I hired the Hangmen to beat up your partner. I did it because you cost me my Hell In A Cell Match with Bruiser Brody at Gateway To Glory. I wanted a 1-on-1 match with you, but instead it was a tag match. You're afraid that I'll take your TV Title so I'll make this easy for you. You give me a Non-Title Match next week, and I'll stop paying the Hangmen to attack Magnum.". Atlas says, "I'll give you a match next week. But the ring ain't big enough to contain the whoopin' I'm gonna put on your ass! I want Falls Count Anywhere!". Savage says, "OH YEAH!". He signals for the Hangmen to drop Magnum to the floor. Dirty & Nasty hold Atlas until Savage & Hangmen For Hire leave the ringside area, and then they throw Atlas to the floor as the ringside doctor is tending to Magnum. Savage stands at the top of the entrance ramp where he looks into the camera and laughs.
WINNER: The T.A.-Team(Tony Atlas--1 fatigue & Magnum T.A.--3 fatigues) beat Hangmen For Hire(Adam Pearce--3 fatigues & Brent Albright--2 fatigues) when Magnum pinned Pearce with BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX
Thatcher: "Savage is a lunatic! He needs to be locked up in an asylum!"
Cornette: "Double Main Event next week with Atlas vs. Savage and Shane vs. Street vs. Thatcher in a Triple Threat for the Jr. Heavyweight Title."
