Shawn Daivari brawled to a double disqualification with Bob Armstrong. Daviari had huge heat from before the bell which made the fans enjoy the early beating from Armstrong all that more. Daivari turned things around at ringside running Armstrong into the ring post busting him open. Daivari could not put away his opponent after WMD and Armstrong drew on fans support to make his comeback connecting with his own finisher, the Georgian Jawjacker, for a big near fall. They ended up going to the floor once again and the official lost all control having no other choice but to call the match and disqualify both competitors.
Sam Houston pinned Lenny Lane. Lane has words for Morgan Dollar before the bell and the official looks anything but impressed. The action went back and forth early on but Lane gained the upper had eventually with an impressive looking wheelbarrow facebuster. Lane could not get the win after Memory Lane and Houston mounted a comeback including back to back cobra clutch suplexes which set up a bulldog for a near fall of his own. The action then went back and forth once again until Houston scored with a third cobra clutch suplex followed by a fourth for the pin.
Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette downed Island Flyers. Both teams were able to make key tags to keep the action going back and forth early on. Jim Brunzell ended up getting caught with a Double Goozle which lead to the Express controlling a portion of the match. Brunzell ended up making the hot tag to the Superfly who dominated Dennis Condrey leading to a Superfly Leap but Jim Cornette was able to cause a distraction keeping the match going. Things turned violent when Bobby Eaton sent Brunzell into the ring post busting him open but Brunzell returned the favour a few minutes later and both men were quickly a bloody mess. Jimmy Snuka tagged back in and connected with a deathjump smash and then went to top for another one but Eaton rolled clear and then hooked the leg for the three count out of nowhere.
Judy Martin pinned Nora Greenwald. Morgan Dollar is in charge of counting the pins. Greenwald started strong with monkey flips and suplexes but a moonsault crashed and burned allowing Martin to gain the upper hand. Martin punished Greenwald for several minutes leading up to a hooking clothesline. Back to back power bombs followed for the victory.
Lou Thesz over Mad Dog Vachon by disqualification. Thesz had the fans solidly behind him and dominated the action in the ring taking Vachon down with a rolling short-arm scissors before scoring two near falls with back to back Thesz Presses. Vachon escaped a double wristlock and bailed to the floor to recover. Thesz followed and Vachon was able to cut him off with a bite and the executed an airplane spin slamming Thesz through the ringside table after a few rotations. The fans are stunned and the referee calls for the bell. Vachon can barely regain his feet and Thesz needs assistance to reach the back.
Northern Lights Title Tournament: Brad Armstrong bested Johnny Saint. It is handshakes all around including with Morgan Dollar before the bell. The transitions and momentum changes in his match were flawless from start to finish. Both men countered and attacked at various times. Saint nearly stole a win with The Ross Abbot before Armstrong came back hitting a Russian Leg Sweep for a big near fall of his own. Armstrong showed he was not afraid to mix it up and bounced Saint’s face off the ringside table. Back in the ring, Saint was able to counter a charge into the corner with a clothesline that stunned Armstrong. Saint was not able to full capitalize however and Armstrong found an opening to apply a sleeper to put Saint out of the tournament.
The Destroyer survived Terry Gordy in a Texas Death Match. This was insane and featured not one, but two trips outside the London Gardens into the parking lot. Gordy continued to control the match including sending Destroyer hard into the post busting him open. Gordy later did more damage with a piece of chain he found under the ring and a turnbuckle wrench as well. Destroyer was able to make use a chair smashing Gordy in the knee. Gordy was able to escape a figure four leglock however and the violence continued. Twice Gordy was bounced off a car in the parking lot. Soon both men were a bloody mess. Destroyer inflicted more punishment with a chair to the leg. Bombs Away connected for Destroyer who began to maintain an advantage. Destroyer mounted the corner and hit a vader bomb like splash and covered Gordy for the three count.
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Valiant Brothers defeated Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Things were back and forth early until Jimmy Valiant took the action to the floor against Robert Gibson and smashed him with the Tag Team Title belt busting Gibson open. Gibson was able to get the hot tag to Ricky Morton a short time later but could not getting anything going.
