Hey gang, been on the boards a while, been playing at home a lot over the years but never posted a fed, recently got my cards out of storage after a move and rebooted everything and thought I'd write up my shows in case anyone is interested, and in case there are any lurkers like who have enjoyed all your feds over the years!
*APW DEBUT WEEKEND NIGHT 1*
Nigel McGuinness heads to the ring and announces that he's the GM for the show, and this weekend we'll be crowning the APW champion. The 4 previous title holders have been invited to return, those being Jay Lethal, Ted DiBiase, Chris Hero and Greg Valentine, as well as the 2 #1 contenders before the company took a hiatus, Adam Cole and Chris Sabin.
These 6 men will fight single elimination matches tonight, and tomorrow the 3 survivors will be joined by the winner of the Wild card Fray match to finish the tournament. The Fray is starting... right now!!!
Wild Card Fray - (2 competitors start, every 5 minutes another participant enters, elimination by pin or submit, last survivor wins and joins title tournament).
Kyle O'Reilly is the first to enter, along with Hangman Adam Page. This starts off as a technical showdown but quickly spills out of the ring and turns into a brawl. On the outside Kyle rams Page's arm into the ring post and then throws him straight back into the ring where he locks in the Armageddon to a quick tap! As the next competitor AJ Styles heads to the ring, medical staff tend to Page's arm and he's helped to the back, obviously injured.
AJ Styles enters and Kyle immediately puts the pressure on him, but AJ hits a sudden Styles Clash and puts Kyle away quickly.
Claudio Castagnoli enters the ring next and puts a beating on Styles, hits a Ricola bomb and locks in an Inverted Chikara special for a long time, AJ escapes and manages to climb the turnbuckle but leaps right into a big uppercut that almost puts him away.
Tony Nese enters at this time and the Premier athlete helps Claudio put a hurting on Styles. The 2 soon start arguing and shoving each other, in the confusion AJ manages to roll to the apron and leap in for a Phenominal forearm on Nese that puts him away for the 3 count! As soon as AJ stands up he eats another Ricola bomb, but kicks out again (8 tokens!)
Zack Sabre Jr races to the ring and saves Styles by distracting Claudio, as they fight AJ gets to his feet and hits a Styles Clash on Claudio but it's not enough to put him away. As Claudio lays crumpled in the corner Styles hits another 2 Styles Clashes on Sabre and gets the elimination. He focuses on Claudio again with another Styles Clash but again a kick out.
The final entrant is Will Ospreay who races in and is immediately dumped out of the ring by Styles who finally puts Claudio away with another Styles Clash!
The final 2 men face off in the ring, a fresh Ospreay against a battered, exhausted Styles. The Aerial Assassin wastes no time showing off what made him famous by taking AJ down and hitting a 630 senton, but Styles kicks out (9 tokens). The 2 trade holds for a few minutes, putting on a technical showcase until Ospreay bounes off the ropes with a Springboard cutter to get the win, and be in with a shot at the title.
As the crowd take to their feet for a standing ovation, Ospreay helps Styles to his feet and raises his hand before giving each other a hug.
Winner - Will Ospreay
Maria Kanellis's voice comes over the speakers, telling the men in the ring that they're now on Kingdom time and to leave the ring. Matt Taven and Michael Bennett make their way to the ring with Maria accompanying them, holding a mic and taunting the crowd, asking which Kingdom memeber they want to see get the pin. Their opponents soon make their way to the ring, looking all business.
The Kingdom (Taven & Bennett) vs The Canadian Wrecking Crew (John and Chris Tolos) - Matt Taven gets off to a strong start thanks to Maria getting the ref's attention while Bennett blindsides Chris, but soon enough the brothers take over and hit Taven with double team after double team, leaving Taven laying in the middle of the ring while Mike and Maria look on in shock.
Winner - Canadian Wrecking Crew
APW Title tournament Match 1 - Chris Sabin vs Jay Lethal
Chris Sabin blindsides Lethal right off the bell and lifts him up for the Cradle shot, Lethal kicks out and when Sabin throws him to the ropes, Lethal bounces back with a Lethal Injection. Sabin kicks out and lifts Jay up for another Cradle Shot but Lethal slips down his back and tangles Sabin up in a Koji clutch for a quick tapout! Lethal heads straight to the back while Sabin kicks stuff around ringside in a rage before being escorted to the back by refs
Winner - Jay Lethal
APW Title tournament Match 2 - Chris Hero vs Ted DiBiase
This is a solid, hard hitting match,a real slugfest between these 2. Hero is in control until he whips Ted into the turnbuckle and goes to follow up, but DiBiase dodges, then rolls up Hero in a School boy with his feet on the ropes to score the fall
Winner - Ted DiBiase
APW Title tournament Match 3 - Greg Valentine vs Adam Cole
Adam Cole comes to the ring all smiles, and when Greg's music hits, we see why. The Hammer's music starts a couple of times before Greg hobbles to the ring, his leg obviously hurt. Cole does jumping jacks in the ring while he waits for Valentine and just as Greg reaches the ring, Cole slides out and throws him into the steel ring steps. He rolls Greg into the ring and once the bell is ring, hits a couple of Florida keys and a crossbody off the top for an easy win
Winner - Adam Cole
Main event - The Young Bucks and Marty Scurll vs War machine and Johnny Gargano
The first night closes out with a big tag match that has a bit of everything. War Machine are dominating early on and the crowd are loving it, but once the Young Bucks get rolling they're unstoppable, hitting double team after double team on their opponents before getting the win
Winners - The Young Bucks and Marty Scurll
