WCWE "Pre Season":
Two 90 minute episodes of highlights and taped action from the month of December leading into the first official cars of the "WCWE Nitro" era on ESPN2.
PreSeason ep#1:
@ Mnpls Armory in Mnpls, Mn.
*First match starts with Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly on ring, as a "Future Shock" graphic scrolls up.
This is interrupted by the house lights dropping off, and the barreling strains of "Redneck" by Lamb of God fill the armory.
As the house lights returned, we have a chaotic scene of the Briscoes kicking the crap out of Cole, with Orielly laid out near the entrance ramp.
Adam Cole is swiftly up on Marks shoulders and takes a nasty looking Doomsday device, and this was over before it started.
Adding to the chaotic nature of the segment was that the Entrance theme the Briscoes used never stopped playing, eerily reminiscent of "Da Gangstas" and NWA's "Natural Born Killas" back in ECW.
"Slick" Mick Karch: GOOD GRIEF, THIS SHOW ISNT EVEN.... OH COME ON!!"
(Mick was interrupted by his own reaction to a clear as day f-bomb from "This is a M-F- INVITATION" over the speakers,. )
"Ok, folks, we're gonna take a ..... "
The show cuts to a commercial as the Briscoes both shout something inaudible into the camera...
The show comes back with a pre taped segment featuring WCWE owner Anthony McLain, apologizing some what that there wasn't at least a crawler warning fans of what soon happened on a clearly pre-taped segment that aired unedited anyways.
"This is WCWE, and it's not your Grandpa's syndication super hero crap. This isn't for everyone. We don't have dramatic pre scripted story for these guys to uncomfortably attempt to perform.
"This is a fight Club. Wins matter. Championships matter. And all of it will be presented to you in a contemporary, sports based presentation. Transparency in win loss records as well as contractual on goings."
"I'm going to leave you with this, and I know that in this current age of media, " bombshell" announcements are few and far between. But two weeks from tonight, right here on ESPN2, we will present to you a one night tournament to crown an initial champion. It's common knowledge that this will include names such as " Cowboy" James Storm, Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal and the spectacular Will Ospreay, but two more that are going to blow the roof off:
(a graphic airs of Kevin Steen and another of Bryan Danielson *you know, think similar to "... Is all elite")
Another commercial break, and we return for the final match, but we are now in the Pladium in Hollywood, CA. And this will be a 20 man "Red Carpet Rumble invitational" to crown an initial WCWE Cruiserweight Champion (199 pounds and under).
A graphic airs of the 20 names competing tonight, featuring some of the best future stars this industry has to offer, including the affore mentioned Ofspreay, as well as AR Fox, Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, TJP, Matt Sydal, and the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger (who appears a smidge over 200 lbs but who's counting..).
After the first 5 entrants in one minute intervals, we skip ahead due to time constraints, to the final 5, with a crawler saying the match in its entirety can be streamed or downloaded at
www.espngo.com/WCWE.
Lio Rush is dumped out, leaving AR Fox, Gargano, Jay White and Anthony Nese.
Gargano having been the number 3 entrant, is exhausted and staving off White, while Anthony Nese sees his tombstone pile driver attempt reversed into a back body drop dumping him over the top.
A nono second later Fox turns around and helps Gargano dump Jay White over top.
This leaves 2, and it's at this point that the match becomes a one on one singles match.
A bloody and beaten Johnny Gargano catches Fox in his DDT/Chicken Wing Cross face "Gargano Escape" and very nearly taps out Fox. After a red break upon reaching the ropes, Gargano stuns Fox with a second Gargano Escape! Only this time Fox rolls through and gets out with a 1-2-3!
Just as the shows cuts to a close, we see a dejected Gargano and his Wife looking up at your new WCWE Cruiserweight Champion, AR Fox!!!
*Two weeks from now, right here, tune in for the Tournament and find out who the last two competitors willne!
