Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies (First half of the show) January - Week 4 - Year 2 Commentary: Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman
ROH World Championship - Special referee: Nigel McGuinness Rush (c) def. MJF by pinfall to retain the title MJF starts out trying to wrestle, loudly telling everyone it's time for Ring of Honor now. However, he quickly gets fed up with Nigel and tries to punch him, although McGuinness dodges, knocks down MJF and then tries to fast count a pin. When McGuinness again tries to fast count, MJF forgets about Rush and focuses on Nigel, allowing Rush to land a release German followed by Bull Horns to retain the title.
Shane Strickland def. Keith Lee w/Stokely Hathaway by pinfall Hathaway may be cursed, as his charges struggle to get any wins in ROH. As the two fighters exchange near falls, Stokely slides a steel chair into the ring, but while the ref is dealing with Hathaway, Swerve hits the Swerve Stomp onto the chair and pins Lee MJF comes to the ring to try and recruit Strickland, attempting to put a CZW shirt on him, but Nigel McGuinness slips into the ring behind MJF. Swerve gestures for MJF to turn around and Nigel blasts him with a lariat
Pure Championship Adam Cole (c) def. Jay White by pinfall to retain White is getting the better of Cole when the champion resorts to an eye rake, receiving a warning from the referee. Cole then has to avoid any rule breaking, but does manage to get back control and with with Panama Sunrise
ROH Career vs Career Colt Cabana def. CM Punk by submission Punk dominates and busts Cabana open, but this is personal to both men and neither is giving up easily. Colt finally forces Punk to tap out in the Billy Goat's Curse 44Oh! jump the barrier and start to beat down Cabana. Punk laughs and rolls out of the ring, taking a mic as he watches on. He tells Colt the one saving grace for the end of his ROH career is that he gets to leave with Cabana a bloody mess in the middle of the ring. However, he tells Colt this will never be over and he will get revenge one day, when he least expects it.

Rough outing for MJF so far... Failing in his bid to capture the ROH World title and then getting blasted by a McGuinness lariat... Never a fun prospect... If things keep going this way, CZW might want to select someone else as their lead representative.
Nice try, Stokeley... WHO'S HOUSE? SWERVE'S HOUSE!
I'm really hoping we get an update for Jay White at some point (right up there with Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay)... His current card just doesn't have the stats to compete on the same level Adam Cole (BAY-BAY!) and other main event talent.
Cabana pulls off a major victory to send Punk packing, but I've gotta wonder if the post-match beatdown and promises of revenge will make him reconsider his recent choices... An excellent blowoff to the rivalry... For now.
Looking forward to the second half, my friend... Awesome as always!

Yeah, the Jay White card just isn't quite up to the level of Cole and others, which is a shame. Maybe one day we will get to see an update for all of those guys!! Thanks for your continued interest!!

Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies (Second half) January - Week 4 - Year 2 Commentary: Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman
Women's World Championship Angelina Love (c) def. Mandy Leon by pinfall to retain Leon gives a strong showing, but cannot keep Love down. Her reign goes on thanks to a Botox Injection
Veda Scott interviews Nigel McGuinness backstage. She asks him for the answer to the question everyone wants to know, who will be ROH's tag team title challengers tonight? Nigel says he won't be revealing the name, as a magician never reveals his secrets. However, he can say that the two men have a rich history with Ring of Honor, and he absolutely trusts them to be able to go toe-to-toe with Gage and Pain and whatever they may bring to the table tonight. As for MJF, if he continues to get involved where he isn't wanted, then Nigel says he will deal with him personally.
Television Championship Roderick Strong (c) def. Bryce Jordan by pinfall to retain Jordan impresses and comes close to a victory, but misses Destino. Strong lands End of Heartbreak to win.
Kevin Steen def. El Generico by pinfall Generico does all he can to try and stay in the match, but Steen is relentless and just keeps beating him down. Generico does manage to kick out of the package piledriver but is finally pinned following a 450 Splash Post match, Steen lands the Package Piledriver again and then rips Generico's mask from his face. Steen takes the mic from Bobby Cruise and warns Rush that he's coming for him
Jay Briscoe def. Mark Briscoe by pinfall Jay scores one for CZW, although not before he takes a battering from brother Mark. Mark's heightened emotions get the better of him and he is countered in the corner and hit with a piledriver to bring the match to a close
World Tag Team Championship Necro Butcher and Delirious def. Nick Gage and Justice Pain to win the tag titles This one is just as chaotic as you would imagine. The crowd go wild for the return of Necro and Delirious, although the latter is soon dumped through a barbed wire board by Pain. Necro slices Gage open with light tube shards, and Delirious gets even with Pain when he tosses him through a light tube structure. Pain recovers and ties up Necro Butcher in the ropes, using a weed whacker on him to the horror of the crowd. Gage releases Butcher and starts to cut at his head with the pizza cutter, but a bloodied Butcher manages to reverse and steal the win with Choose Death

Unfortunate that Bryce fell short in his bid for the TV title, but he probably needs a bit more experience before taking in the likes of Roddy Strong.
As expected, emotions were running high during the closing bouts... Steen practically executes his former friend before tearing away his mask - the ultimate humiliation... And nothing can generate heat like a sibling rivalry... Highly doubt anything has really been settled between Dem Boys.
Necro & Delirious! Only this duo could match the level of violence brought to the ring by Gage & Pain... And oh, snap! All four men delivered in unforgettable Deathmatch the ROH fans will never forget... Very hot ending to a spectacular event!

Very hot ending to a spectacular event! Bryce gave a real good showing, and it is definitely not the last of him we will be seeing in ROH. Steen really has put a full stop on his issues with Generico, but how long before we see the generic luchador return is anyone's guess! As for CZW, have no doubt they will not take this loss lying down!! Thanks for your continued interest

He thanks them both for stepping up in ROH's hour of need and promises them that this will always be their home. They are interrupted by Roppongi Vice. Rocky Romero tells Nigel it should have been them and not these two garbage wrestlers. Necro challenges them to prove it in a non-title match later tonight.

Crazy Mary Dobson def. Miranda Alize by pinfall Dobson comes out on top of an even contest, landing cartwheel double knees to win
A promo plays for Mark Briscoe ahead of his match next. As footage rolls of Jay beating him at the PPV, Mark quietly says Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies was the single worst night of his career. He says losses, they mean nothing, but he hadn't wanted to believe his brother, his own flesh and blood, had turned his back on him. But it has happened. Mark says Rocky Balboa was right when he said it ain't about how hard you hit, but about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. He promises revenge on Jay. He doesn't know where, and he doesn't know when, but he knows it will happen.
Mark Briscoe def. Cheeseburger by pinfall A demolition job by Briscoe, who wins quickly with a cut-throat driver
Non-title Jay Lethal def. TV Champion Roderick Strong by pinfall These two recent allies face off, with Lethal earning victory when he lands Lethal Injection To close the show, Lethal tells Strong that next time they face each other, he will be leaving with the TV Title.

Pure Rules Rey Horus def. Tracy Williams by pinfall Horus gets the win with a springboard leg drop
Mandy Leon comes to the ring, calling out Angelina Love. Leon says after being used as a human shield for so long, she has more than earned one more shot at the World Title. Love comes to the ring with Madison Rayne. They laugh at Leon, with Love telling he she has never been on her level, not when they teamed and certainly not now. Love says sub par wrestlers do not get World Title shots and certainly not for free, not in her Ring of Honor. Rayne and Love continue to laugh at her as they force her to leave the ring.
The camera cuts to backstage, where Roppongi Vice have confronted Nigel McGuinness. Romero and Trent demand a title shot, but Nigel tells them it won't be happening tonight, as the champions aren't here. Pure Championship Richard Holliday def. Adam Cole (c) by pinfall to win the title Holliday stuns everyone when he forces Cole to use all his rope breaks and then spikes him with a vicious draping DDT to get the victory.
Veda Scott interviews Bryce Jordan backstage. She asks him whether his win in the Top Prospect tournament was a fluke, or if he really can live up to the title? Incredulous, Jordan tells her she will never question the ability of the Golden God again. He says the establishment is threatened by him, and so has stacked the deck to ensure he fails, but that will not fly with him. As Veda attempts to question him further, he puts his hand over her face and then walks away.
World Championship Kevin Steen def. Rush (c) by pinfall to win the title Neither man is going to wait for Bobby Cruise's introductions to finish, as they immediately start trading hefty blows in the centre of the ring. Rush starts to get on top, and Corino tries to distract the referee, getting banned from ringside in the process. However, the distraction was enough to let Steen recover. He retreated to the outside and as Rush approached the ropes, Jacobs trips him. Steen gets the win with a Package Piledriver
