This would be a good idea for Tom to include in a future storyline. I was just reading the very interesting blog on Deimons.... and how astronomers predict that in the future it will leave its orbit, crash into Mars, and create a ring around the red planet. Wow. THAT WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT STORYLINE TO BRING BAK THE TITANS WITH!!! Wow. I know that Tom used the Omicron Event in the past. However, it's time for a supernova, a meteor shower, or something of anatural and scientific and GRAND SCALE to effect the GWF universe. What say you all?

I'm really opposed to any more "magical" or "super" powers. How is it that Exo-King can't use his mechanical parts, but Max Shield can use a FORCE FIELD? I know, I know, Max's was "natural." Really though, I typically try not to use those kinds of things and like to stick to "natural" wrestlers. Different races, sure, different history sure, but no more magic!!

Not a bad idea but it's kind of (as you mentioned) already been done with the Omicron Event. Plus, the Titans are from Saturn, not Mars.

I posted that semi-sarcastically. Yes Deimos is going to crash into Mars eventually, but it's going to take about 50,000,000 years, literally. I don't think it'll ever be on the radar of the GWF.

yeah, no more superpowers. I dont even like the genetic tampering with guys like Monolith. Just so this is not the only opinion voiced, I have always liked some of the stranger characters we've had in the GWF. If I wanted total realism, I'll go roll a match with Frank Gotch and George Hackenschmidt. This is science fiction, and science accounts for a lot of possibilities. If anything I wish some of our aliens were even weirder, with a completely different physiology from ours. I don't have a problem with characters that perform magic, or characters who have been granted special powers through genetic disturbance. In fact I loved every miserable character to ever step out of the transevolver, and I hope that Tom comes up with a writing device like that again, that gives him open reign to tamper with characters. There's been the Collector, there's been the Transevolver, what's next? In my opinion, the GWF could get a lot weirder!

I do understand the sensitivity to the genetically enhanced wrestlers at this point in real life. I am a huge baseball fan and am disgusted by what is going on right now. As a professional wrestling fan, however, I don't really care. It's entertainment, and I don't understand how artifically enhancing your body would necessarily give you an advantage over others who don't in pro wrestling. That being said, the GWF is supposed to be "real". We've had a lot of fun with the Transevolver over time and I'm not looking back on that with any sort of disdain. I love the science fiction aspect of it, love the superpowers, and love exploring the natural evolution of fictitious worlds. The Monolith character, I belive, is an exception and is a bit surprising to me. At this point in time we're accepting that this genetically, chemically, artifically engineered behemoth could run rampant dominating the federation, no questions asked. I wonder if it is an appropriate time to reconsider some of the unnatrual things that may be happening to certain characters.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the "weird" side of the GWF. Guys like Steele Freak, Cannibal, Mad Jester, Death's Head, even Talisman/Pharoah Khety's "weird" story I really enjoyed. I just don't like the idea of these "super"powers. It's almost like superpowers are the PED's of the GWF!

I brought this up on the other board but what about Aethran cleansings? Cleansings seem very much like the Gladiators are given some sort of performance enhancing effect/drug and yet everyone is pretty much just fine with it! How come no one wants to know about this??

It may seem silly that we're having this discussion about fictitious characters in a card game. But I get it. Current times make this a sensitive issue, and I for one am turned off by the artifically enhanced wrestlers.
As for the Gladiators, I always thought of a Cleansing as a period of unthinkable rigor where they're put through physical trials unimaginable. But now that you mention it, I think it might be time to know what's going on there.
