Well just bought the Classics PDFs so I went to my local FedEX/Kinkos to get my cards printed.
They were wanting to slap a $10,000 fine on me for printing them off saying I don't have permission. Anyone else have similar problems and what do you think I should do about it?
There are not many options around here as the last time I tried to get anything done at Staples they couldn't line crap up to save their lives nor did they care.
They also said that for me to have permission they'd have to get a fax stating every file. They also almost didn't let me print off some boots as well. Is this your artwork? Do you know the artist? Blah blah....I'm a little peeved, but am I wrong to be?

I find that kinda odd.. lots of people sell PDFs of things these days.. you probably just caught someone who just got hired and was trying to be a good employee.

Nope she wasn't the only one the other gal working with her said the same thing. I think I was lucky to even get the boots printed after she saw the little (c) on the Classics she grabbed the printed boots and started eyeing them. But found no little (c) so she went ahead and let me have it, but still gave me crap over the artwork.

Anyone else have similar problems and what do you think I should do about it? It's a shame you have to go through the hassle. If you want to stay local I'd suggest requesting to speak to a manager or supervisor so you can establish a direct contact who can assist you. Get their contact info (including email address) and then help them help you by either printing out or emailing that person this FG product advertisement This is proof of the solicitation for sale of the PDFs in question. By the nature of this being solicited as a PDF product it establishes that the copyright restriction on printing is conditional. Then forward along your order receipt (the one that was emailed to you after you made the purchase for the PDFs). This would give you a corresponding proof of purchase. All bases would then be legally covered as to your right to print the PDFs.

I've had people in Staples do the same thing to me when i'm printing my own artwork. "Do you have permission to print these." "Yes, I gave myself permission yesterday." Then sometimes I can print whatever I want at the same shop and not get questioned about any of it.

That is ludicrous. Never heard of such a thing.

this is where having my own laser printer comes in handy. I know the copyright laws so I never give myself a hard time.

My local kinkos gave the same run around. SO I bought a lazer printer online. Great investment.

That is ludicrous. Never heard of such a thing. I've heard of it happening a LOT with people buying PDFs of role-playing games...it's not a blanket thing anywhere, either...it's usually almost a clerk-to-clerk thing at a given place. I agree, though, it's nuts.
