Black Hole Match
Background: This match was originally introduced in my GCW federation, a sister corporation to GWF, as a special event contest. The competition featured three hovering platforms, each twice the size of a ring and separated by fifteen feet each, suspended above a wrestling ring. Each platform was held in place by an artificial black gravity not unlike that used by the CPC’s Zero Gravity Platform Match. Where the matches differ however, was that as soon as this match began the platforms slowly begun to disintegrate into the artificial black gravity “Black hole” holding it in place.
Prior to the match, 30 wrestlers randomly draw numbers corresponding to a platform level. Each platform houses ten wrestlers vying for survival. While on a disintegrating platform, a wrestler cannot be eliminated by pin-fall or submission. The only way to eliminate a wrestler is if they are tossed, or fall off of the platform into the black hole engulfing the area. Wrestlers who are dragged into the black hole do not die, but instantly get teleported to the backstage area.
Once the match is underway, the wrestlers on the highest platform are beamed in to fight first, while the wrestlers on the other two levels wait back stage. As the platform crumbles around the battling wrestlers, each man fights to escape to a lower level before being eliminated. A wrestler’s only hope of survival is to reach a beam teleporter, on the far end of the platform. Once a wrestler makes it to a teleporter, he beams to the platform or ring directly below. Once the first wrestler beams to a lower level platform, the wrestlers starting out on that platform beam in simultaneously. The match on that level then ensues as that platform, too, begins to crumble away.
This continues until the remaining participants beam into the awaiting wrestling ring below. Once a wrestler enters the ring, the ring match is treated as a Royal Battle Match, with the exception being that entrants teleport in from the above level.
Rules:
- “You” refers to the wrestler on offense.
- For every one level down from you the match is taking place, add +1 to the Black Hole Match Chart. (The maximum being +3 to the chart if there is ring action, for the wrestlers on level 3.)
- If only one wrestler remains on a level, they can teleport to a lower level without rolling on the match chart.
- While on a platform ignore ring chart situations (Ropes, Turnbuckle, Deathjump) instead, roll on the Black Hole Match Chart presented below.
- While on a platform if a wrestler rolls (tag), (lv) or an offensive move that requires a tag partner, he may choose to roll on the Black Hole Match Double Team Chart presented bellow. This may only be used twice per wrestler (who chose to roll on the chart) during the match.
- While on a platform if a wrestler rolls a move that doesn’t make sense (example: The wrestler’s finisher is a top rope elbow drop), roll on the Black Hole Match Chart presented below.
- While on a platform if a wrestler rolls out of the ring, roll on the Black Hole Match Chart presented below.
- While on a platform if a wrestler is pinned, assume they have fallen into the black hole.
- Once a wrestler teleports into the ring, the ring match is treated as a Royal Battle Match.

If you roll equal to or higher than the opponent, then you make it to the teleporter and successfully beam down one level. If the opponent rolls higher, then he manages to grab you. Roll again on this chart. |
7 | Almost! You make your way to the teleporter, but your opponent grabs you. Roll on level 3 offense. |
8 | Not an inch! You both pound away on each other but there is no give in either of you! Both wrestlers roll two dice, the wrestler who rolls the highest rolls on level 3 offense. In the event of a tie, you roll on level three offense. |
9 | And they’re off! As you both fight each other back and forth, it seems as if you are both at a standstill. You take a moment to eye the teleporter, but notice the opponent does as well. You then both simultaneously bolt toward it! Roll one die. Result = 1-2: You both successfully make it to the teleporter and simultaneously beam to the level below. Result = 3-4: The opponent makes it to the teleporter, while you are grabbed by another wrestler (*). Roll again on this chart. Result = 5-6: You are both grabbed by another wrestler(*). 10 | You’re nose and nose! As you both fight each other back and forth, it seems as if you are both at a standstill. You take a moment to eye the teleporter, but notice the opponent does as well. You then both simultaneously bolt toward it! Both wrestlers roll two dice. The wrestler who rolls highest makes it to the teleporter and beams down one level, while the loser is grabbed by another wrestler. (*) In the event of a tie, you are both grabbed by another wrestler. (*) |
11 | Just Great! While battling your opponent you both lose track of your surroundings. As the floor below you both is eaten away, you both fall toward the abyss, but manage to cling to the slowly fading platform. As it melts away like sand, you both try and climb back out of the hole. You both roll one die and compare it to either your (ag) or (pw) [whichever you choose] if the result is 0 or lower, you successfully climb up. If unsuccessful, you fall into the black hole and are eliminated. |
12 | Too bad! Your opponent tosses you off the edge and into the black hole. You are eliminated! He then successfully makes it to the teleporter and beams one level below. |
13 | Goodbye! While engaged in a brawl you lose your footing on the crumbling platform below. You fall into the black hole and are eliminated. |
14 | Oh no! You helplessly grab on to the edge, trying to cling to what remains of the platform, but it’s not enough. You fall in as others around you grasp an edge as well. You are eliminated. All other remaining wrestlers on the level roll one die and compare it to either their (ag) or (pw) [whichever they choose] if the result is 0 or lower, they successfully climb up. If unsuccessful, they too fall into the black hole and are eliminated. |
15 | It’s too late! You and all the remaining wrestlers on the same level just couldn’t make it in time. The platform completely disintegrates below, eliminating all remaining wrestlers on the level. |
(*) If this doesn’t make sense, then you make it to the teleporter and successfully beam to one level below.
