First Down Match Background: This match was originally introduced in my GWF development fed named ECW. It was a way for an up and comer to challenge a stable’s leader for leadership of the stable. It is similar to how dogs fight (from what I read in the book Call of the Wild), and very fitting for the atmospheric build up.
Rules: - The only way a wrestler can lose the match is if he is down on the mat for more than 5 seconds. A timer is displayed on the rampway teli-tron, in order to legitimize the count. - All of the stable members surround the ring similar to a Lumberjack Match. - For all intents and purposes use Lumberjack Match rules if they were to apply or to add realism to the match. - The first wrestler who rolls “down – 3” is considered the loser of the match, and is jumped by all of the stable members surrounding the ring. - When a wrestler loses, automatically roll on the Feud or Feud Table Chart.

Interesting. I'm intrigued by the source of your inspiration, too. I can think of a lot of ways that this match type could fit into different storylines.
