I have been playing since the early 90's and am surprised that the conversion to color did not happen sooner. Sure, I like the Black and White cards. It's what I am used to, what we are all used to. But, despite the great artwork and talented artists through the years (Carter, Snelly, Bendis, Mueck, and so many more and I apologize for not listing you all), I continue to buy and love this game for Tom's storylines. And if I don't like the way in which a wrestler or character is drawn, I can just flip it over and imagine something different as I roll I just look at it as a new era for GWF Wrestling and even though I am still back in 2114, I can't wait for the day when I am rolling dice on, the Galaxian Wrestling Federation presented in Technicolor ;D

I'm a vote FOR the color. I've liked the online cards, but haven't bought the online sets because I don't want to pay for something I already bought a second time (off topic I know, so no need to comment, just my 2 cents)
As far as price. I too think $12 has been a steal, but video game prices for a card game I don't think would work or be of equal value (unless you can get my cards to move and fight out the matches then we can talk!) I can live with a SMALL price bump, not having to do with what I can afford, but more because of the whole "value" thing that has already been discussed.
If the original sets were re-released in color (hard copies) I would probably buy them. I've liked the color that much, but prefer to have "in-hand" something that I purchase. I don't like "owning" something on the internet that if the company went out of business would leave me with nothing. If something awful happened, I'll always have my cards...will CotGonline be around "forever?"
One option for those that like them in B&W....scan them into photoshop, change it to B&W and VIOLA you have your cards in B&W!
My only other off topic comment....Early Classics! (I'll take it in B&W OR Color!!) I have my fed on indefinite hold waiting on this. Having the option of purchasing things that I believe are critical to the game/story is more likely to keep me playing the game than whether or not it's B&W or Color.
I see both sides and can appreciate the arguments, these are just my thoughts, many will disagree, your privilege.

@ Payback - So what your saying is that if Tom comes out and says Paganax is a full out heel, speaks french, should be red and wins every match do you do that? What drives this game is creativity, LESS = MORE. I see the art and read Tom's version of the game year and develop the character in my head. Why play the game if everything is done for you?

I can understand why some of you are upset by the change and that is a bummer but I cant be help but be excited
When the Filsinger circulars went to color it made them look way more professional. I have a feeling the color cards will have the same effect.

I don't know what your point is Wildfire. It seems to be all speculation. Tom wouldn't be doing the game in color if he didn't want to and didn't think it would help the sales. Maybe Tom wants it in color, did you ever think of that? He has actually said that the reason it wasn't in color at the beginning was because it was too costly. Now, he has the resources to do it. It really is just that simple. You're arguing that color cards are a great business decision.... I think, depending on the price, they're not. You said you think color cards with get more interest. I disagree. I think there are 100 things that would be more effective in doing so. Time will tell. , I also personally feel that being told what the colors are takes away from a bit of the wonder of the whole thing. The CORE of the GWF universe, and why most of us stay here, is as an outlet to our creativity... Tom would agree with that, I think. (This is what Wraith is saying, too, I think) I feel coloring the cards is taking that away, at an attempt for a 'cheap pop'... a few people looking at them and going 'ohhh... pretty' and buying 1 set. I've also said that I don't think color is necessary if the product is good... substance wins over style. Overman is just one of many examples of people that just aren't into the current GWF...maybe there's a reason for that. It's not the color of the cards. @ Cake and Eliath... I did indeed go play a card... and it was a good one.. good idea

All this talk of color and not one person has even touched on the news the cards are now an inch wider. Totally kidding. Just trying to lighten the mood. Above everything else you know the Dark Menace is on his back porch looking up at the stars and smiling. If there's one thing he loves it's a good controversy!

What drives this game is creativity, LESS = MORE. I see the art and read Tom's version of the game year and develop the character in my head. Why play the game if everything is done for you? Well Tom would never say any of that and being someone who was at Tom's house last year, you should know that. Having the cards in color isn't having "everything done for you." But Tom does create the game so if he wants it in color, why shouldn't he decide what color they should be? Can't you imagine Paganax in a different color red just as easily from a pic that's colored as one that's black & white? It's just a change that some people will resist at first, some forever. THAT will take the joy out of playing the game for that person, not the fact that it's in color. You're arguing that color cards are a great business decision.... I think, depending on the price, they're not. You said you think color cards with get more interest. I disagree. I think there are 100 things that would be more effective in doing so. Time will tell. Overman is just one of many examples of people that just aren't into the current GWF...maybe there's a reason for that. It's not the color of the cards. I can say, with a great deal of certainty, that the game will NOT jump substantially in price. Let us know what 100 things will help the game in B&W then. Obviously the guy who has been making this game since 1986 thinks it should be in color. He gets feedback from people all the time at conventions. He goes to several each year. When you think of Endgame, don't you think of him as silver? That's what Tom said in his description so I'm pretty sure most people do. Now, you're getting that for every character and he doesn't have to write it out in the book. I don't see how the game being colored is "taking away" the creativity of the game. You can use your imagination of what guys look like as much form a colored card as a B&W one. I agree that substance is more important than style but now we have both. I think it's just we've all been seeing the cards in B&W for so long and some people will have some adjustment period to it. Things change and you have to change with them or get left behind. All I know is that when Friday rolls around, I'm gonna be playing my new, kickass colored GWF and I am totally stoked! I'm part of the niche audience and I love it!!!

@ Wildfire, that is prolly the best post so far on this topic.
@ toasterboy, controversy is not always a good thing.

I've been buying both cardstock and online. So having online, I'm used to the color...which is awesome. I think it will be really cool to get the cardstock in color now too. I'm all for it. Seems long overdue.
