NWA United States Champion Ted Dibiase is backstage. Larry Zbyszko just made the biggest mistake of his life for that sneak attack a few days ago. Dibiase says that he plans to make a point of making Zybszko absolutely miserable in the NWA for the next several months.
Magnum TA d. Larry Sharpe with the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX TA caught Sharpe with the Belly to Belly Suplex to pick up the victory.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil is out for an interview. He mentions that he beat Ed "Strangler" Lewis for this belt just last month. He doesn't care if it's 2 out of 3 falls. He can pin Lewis twice in a match no problem.
Al Snow d. John Pesek with the SNOW PLOW This was a really good back and forth match. Al Snow ultimately got the victory with the Snow Plow.
Fritz Von Goering, Maurice Tillet and Youssuf Ishmaelo are backstage. Von Goering promises that they haven't forgotten about George "The Animal" Steele or Hillbilly Jim. He plans to put both men out of the NWA.
the Hennigs d. the Vachons by DQ This one spilled out of the ring and Butcher Vachon was disqualified for hitting Larry Hennig with a chair.
Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express come out to the ring. Cornette accepts the open challenge that Bobby Heenan and the NWA World Tag Team Champions Masked Superstars issued last week. Cornette knows for a fact that Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey are the best tag team in the NWA. If Heenan has the guts, he'll have his teams put up the belts and they'll see who's the best tag team out there today.
Main Event: Harley Race d. Rikidozan with the PILEDRIVER Rikidozan brought his A game here. Race and Riki battled for control the entire match and it was really either man's match. Race caught Riki with a swinging necbreaker and then the diving headbutt. Race smelled blood at this point and he hit his patented Piledriver to pick up a big win in what turned out to be a great main event.

Note: A mysterious hooded figure was spotted in the rafters throughout this show.
Terry Gordy d. George South with the PILEDRIVER Gordy seemed to be toying with South in the ring. He hit the Bam Bam Slam and then strutted around the ring a bit. Gordy finally hit the Piledriver and covered to pick up the victory.
Bobby Heenan and NWA World Tag Team Champions Masked Superstars come down to the ring. Heenan says that they'll gladly defend the titles against the Midnight Express but they have to take care of a little business later in tonight's main event. Just as Heenan finishes his sentence the Midnight Express and Jim Cornette come down to the ring.
Cornette just wanted Heenan and his boys to see what a real tag team looks like in the flesh. He tells both Masked Superstars to enjoy their belts while they still can. They'll be around the waists of Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Dennis soon enough.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil is backstage. In just a few short days he'll be making his 2nd defense of his championship against Ed "Strangler" Lewis. He calls Lewis one of the toughest wrestlers in the NWA. That doesn't worry him though. He went through 4 men in one night, including Lewis, to win this championship. All it takes is one Coco Butt to put anyone away.
Frank Gotch d. Ray Stevens with the GOTCH TOEHOLD This was a classic back and forth battle. Gotch slowly wore Stevens down with a grinding hammerlock. Gotch finally managed to lock on the Gotch Toehold and earned the submission victory.
Frank Gotch stops for an interview. He makes his intentions in the NWA clear. He wants to be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He doesn't care who he has to go through to wear the championship. Bobo Brazil, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Lou Thesz, George Hackenschmidt, Buddy Rogers, Andre the Giant... anyone is fair game.
Main Event: NWA World Tag Team Title Match: Billy Lyons and Dewey Robertson d. Masked Superstars (c) with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to become the 2nd NWA World Tag Team Champions Masked Superstar caught Lyons with the Superstar Clothesline. Lyons and Robertson are the NEW NWA World Tag Team Champions!
Dewey Robertson tackles Billy Lyons to the mat with a giant hug. The referee hands over the title belts and Lyons and Robertson look to be in total disbelief. Lyons and Robertson put the belts on and pose for the crowd as the show comes to an end.

Quick note as it's going to come up in a show I'm running today.
The piledriver is an illegal maneuver in Memphis, TN. All piledriver moves become a DQ move. The DQ will be determined as the wrestler's DQ rating -1. So for instance if they were a DQ 5, the piledriver would be a DQ 4.
So be on the lookout for that. The NWA United States Tag Team Title Tournament is later today.

Lyons and Robertson did make a statement that they weren't just going to roll over for some big name tag teams. It'll be interesting to see if they can beat the Midnight Express or not. I never expected them to beat the Masked Superstars.
